its cool if they diss racist rednecks. I, in fact, agree with such. Its when they call out tha south that fucks with me. Simply because im from the south and im not like that. and when they talk that kinda shit it just spreads negative sterotype bullshit. Sorta like how people pre judge juggalos because of a few bad apples. I get over it tho. I agree with them about basically everything else, so its all good.lol
I think some people forget that the world ICP set their music to isn’t the real world per se. In theirs, everything is way over the top and cut and dry. Want to talk about someone from the south? He’s a cousin fucking racist that drives a tractor everywhere and leaves a trail of hay behind him. Want to talk about a chick doesn’t want to date you? She’s a stupid slut (usually named Jenny) that has fucked any and everyone, especially your best friends and her head pops off easier than a comment about the rebel flag. Don’t like a cop? There’s a high chance that said cop is an actual pig that sleeps on piles of money and can be fooled by a game of peek-a-boo. Do you prefer your soda to be cheap? Well then FUCK Mountain Dew and marinate your balls in the cheap option!
Basically, in order to get their point across, their style dictates that they use big ass paint strokes. That can get convoluted pretty easily and leaves a lot of things up for interpretation. My point being, I think what ICP says isn’t always what they mean to say lol. If a ninja wants to take what they say at face value and spreads some stereotype bullshit because of it, fuck em. They were gonna spread that shit no matter what, ICP’s just being used as an excuse to do so.

I’ve lived in the Bible Belt most of my life, and realize some wonderful people are here. The comic relief the bigotry here provides is the gift that keeps on giving, and gets national attention to fuel the southern stereotypes. For instance, a Christian college in Texas just added “no gay dating or supporting gay marriage” to their athletic handbook(s).

Well…..sometimes the stereotypes are true lol. I was in the bible belt for most of my life. Still kind of am but Columbus, OH seems to be a weird, non Ohio part of Ohio that I haven’t quite put my finger on yet. I use to walk around collecting Chick Tracts to see how many I could get. Every time I would read them I would go from shock, to laughter, to anger in the span of like two minutes.

I am not a fan of Jack Chick. He has a lot of hate for people who don’t believe exactly how he does. He feels he is justified due to his belief that God hates all the same things he does.
I prefer the Chick Tract parodies: http://www.weirdcrap.com/chick…..r/dtr.html

That’s why I like collecting them. They’re so fucked up and awful that I have to have them but then I would get fucking pissed that people actually believe that shit. Eh, I think the parody (at least the one you posted to) is a little to on the nose for my taste but in principle, I love what it’s doing.

Proof? Im a little late back to this thread, but the wiki page on “Colored Soliders” isnt what were looking for.
The first Black regiment in the north was formed in 1863. In the South it was 1861.

I never said i supported the rebel flag at all; i simply find it disgusting what the schools teach about the civil war because most of it ISNT true. 95% of Americans have no idea how the war started…..it damn sure WASNT over slavery. 99% of Americans have no idea about the innocent people that Lincoln killed …..innocent women and children. Do some research on what happened to the freed slaves. Good ‘ol Abe sent some back to Africa at their request, and they were slaughtered when they got off the ship because the natives said “they had been touched by the white man.” And Lincoln knew it was going to happen…. did he care? No, because he was a racist like most everyone else during this time period. ….and the Kansas Jayhawkers are more than a shitty football team, they slaughtered innocent people in Missouri. How many kids were exeucted at the hands of Lincoln?
Slavery is wrong, obviously. Killing innocent women and children is just as wrong. I just wish more truths were taught about the Civil War and not the one-sided stories our government wants to teach us in our history books. Were talking about the Rebel Flag and how it stands for slavery; yet it was ‘Ol Glory flying high and proud on those slave ships…..
So theres my late reply. Do I support racism or the Rebel Flag? No, I dont. I just wish the Civil War was taught as it happened, and not the bullshit taught in schools. Read books written by slaves, you might learn things arent quite the things you were taught. You dont have to be a bigot or a racist to see the inaccuracy in what we, and our kids, have been taught in school.

Here’s a link to The Great Courses class about the American Civil War. Could be the best, least-biased account in the world.

Since found is getting pretty close to releasing I am really fucking hoping this is straight rap/rock and not that edm sounding shit on here. I’ll be so mad. It was cool to hear it on LOST but if they throw it on found it’s gonna fuck the whole cd up. I really don’t want to hear this style. I know what Seven is capable of and otis n mike p so I just really hope this is different. I myself just wanna hear them blend everything together. I was completely fine with the track “lost” on the lost album. That shit was dope (mike p produced it) and that to me was what that album should of sounded like but thats just me.
I just want to see what icp is capable of with beats that arent this new sounding stuff. I just want ONE album where they mix all there sounds from the first 6 into one album

Isn’t it funny how music religon politics and even history are all subject to interpretation and likes and dislikes of just a few ppl sometimesHistory isn’t up to interpretation. It’s a matter of knowing all of the facts. MOTIVES might be up to interpretation, but what happened isn’t.
History is definitely open to interpretation.
One of my favorite historical figures is Genghis Khan. The history books will tell you that he was a monster. It is widely believed that he raped thousands of women and sacked even holy sites in his many, many conquests. He was a vicious warrior who would kill any living male humans and would rape the women of a village after conquering it.
This is one interpretation of the history. The other is that the Khan united hundreds of nomadic tribes under a single law. He would allow anybody to join his tribe if they so wished, all they had to do was surrender -before- any war started. Other tribes noticed that he would not claim any spoils of war for himself the way the other khans did, aside from maybe a new weapon or some livestock. He had over 2,000 concubines who lived in his palace when he had a palace and the capitol city he erected when the nomadic lifestyle became a burden on the people he conquered housed more than 12 distinct religions in a 4 mile radius (roughly). He was a brilliant military mind who utilized propaganda and fear tactics to intimidate villages into surrendering. He later went on to convince his sons to grant political rights to women at a time when they had none (after he stepped down as Khan).
Both are true-ish interpretations of the same events and the same man.

ah, but what proof do you have that those things happened the way they were recorded…?
further back you go from today, the hazier the picture gets.
not that im into that wacko ‘history isnt real’ bullshit that the flakes use to justify their delusions… but it isnt a given.
go back far enough into history, and you got nothin to base things on but forensics.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

FOUND IS A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AWAY!!!!!!
Expectations for it? Lost, whether you liked it or not, was a very different album for ICP. Do you expect that different sound to transfer over to Found or do you think that Lost sounded like it did on purpose and this album will sound like a more familiar ICP album? Did the last album change your expectations for this one in any way?

The reason I disliked lost is because it seems very LAZY to me, especially coming right after House of Wax. They said these were recorded in two very different sessions, so if it seems like they actually tried harder and didn’t just, as scruffy would say, phone it in, I will be happy. Problem is, I don’t think they have anyone on the label anymore who will be honest and tell them when they’re not trying hard enough.
