Hatchet Herald posted about digital preorder and mentioned a new song “Juggalo Party”. Not to speculate too hard but just the name of it seems like it’s in the vein of the album – being more clowny and shit. Seems like it would be a dope track to bump at the Gathering. PLUS I loved it when it came out 15 years ago as a Twiztid, Blaze, & ABK song. :P
and now i'm gonna be performin at Juggalo Day WHUT

damn, i lost my post. shit. I had a good reply going about what I expect with found.
I’m not gonna retype it all but basically, I expect to like it. I don’t get all the hate people are throwing at Lost. It’s a dope album, it’s not perfect but it’s solid and the beats are hard and it’s got that raw sound that I’ve missed from ICP so I am happy. I can’t see me taking it out of my car for a while, even though I will like found. found might just be on my phone for some time.
Also, this wasn’t in my post but judging by the fact that they’re touring with POD, I would expect found to have a lot more guitar work and a rockish sound. Since Lost is very much in tune with coc and ringmaster and hells pit, I think we can safely say that found will have throwbacks to shangri la, milenko, and riddlebox. I’m not saying it’ll sound exactly like them, but I think we’ll hear references to those albums.
Juggalo party definitely sounds like it’ll be some juggalo island type shit with the concept of the song being that Shangri La is chilling with the family, and that for J and Shaggy, the missing link is the juggalo family. So it’s pretty easy to see how that would fit in.

I can’t explain what the beats sound like on lost. For what it is, i dig the cd but to call it an album eh I wouldn’t go that far. To me, it feels like maybe 4-5 of the songs they put there heart into em and the rest were just filler. Atleast with BPB and MDP I feel like J and shaggy really tried. Same went with killjoy club that cd was like all filler not saying they’re not good albums just saying it’s not on par with any previous ICP work.
As far as Found being a throwback to shangrila, milenko and riddlebox, that would be fucking dope. And now that I think about it having POD at the tour does definitely sound like this is goign to be a rockish type album so i’m def hyped. I remember seeing the title juggalo homies and was like shit already sounds wack but its one of my favorites. So time will tell. I really hope they tried hard with this album. Even if the beats aren’t to my liking I just hope they put effort into the lyrics. Lost just sounds like it was recorded in a month or two.
People are probably sick of me saying this but I really just want to hear a whole album produced by mike p one more time for icp to see what sound he brings to the table. I never hated mike p’s production really. And he produced some of boondox’s newest cd abaddon or whatever and the beats were dope. So we’ll see.
Also: I peeped some of Killjoy out tonight. some of killjoy’s beats shoudl of been used for Lost seriously. Alot of people don’t realize this but older ICP beats had alot of 808’s in it. I would of dug teh fuck out of lost if it had it
I’m def hype bout the cd tho. I think i’ll prefer this one over Lost for sure.

Personally, I never liked Mike P’s beats. The hooks always suck ass. I liked a lot of the ways he worked with ICP but and some aspects of his beats but I felt like he didn’t transition from verse to hook well at all and it completely takes me out of the songs. That said, I generally sort of like the album (shangri la) but it’s no where near one of the top 5 for me, and the albums he worked on the most, aside from cracked tiles and tales from the lotus pod, are some of the worst in ICP history, IMO, but I definitely think it all depends on where you are in music and as an audience i think we are more diverse than other groups fans.
Like, I can’t imagine lady gaga fans sitting around arguing about the speculated sound of a new album. There’s no expectations other than that it will continue to sound like madonna.
I maintain that I don’t think lost is lazy, because I think lazy is a poor description of what the actual problem is. It’s definitely simple, maybe even too simple at times, but I don’t think that’s the same as lazy. ICP aren’t trying to be complex. They aren’t trying to be backpackers and it’s unfair to judge them by those standards. Yes, they are simple lyricists but they aren’t and have never been about being complicated.
I feel like they tried on Lost. But what they tried to do is going over a lot of peoples heads. People complained that MDP and BPB were too over produced so they decided to try and regain the rawness of their earliest efforts. And honestly I think they nailed it. I think this sounds like CoC would sound if they recorded it today and I think that’s absolutely brilliant, especially since they’ve grown so much as people and artists.
Also, they released a lotus album and the killjoy club album last year, and two this year. They’re moving faster than they’ve moved in YEARS and so maybe the albums aren’t as polished by it’s not because they’re being “lazy”.

I can agree with what you said. With lazy I mean more so with lyrics I guess. That’s what killed it for me. I didn’t really get a COC vibe on lost. If I did it was on Confederate Flag. Everything else had a hells pit and killjoy club vibe mixed together. I listened to this cd last night. I can definitely enjoy it tho. Its’ not one of the best but it’s alright for what it is. Better direction than bpb and mdp atleast lol

I dunno. I hear coc and ringmaster all over the album. I only hear hells pit in the sort of general explanation of the concept, but i hear CoC and ringmaster all over Lost. Not so much in sound or concept but in form, structure, process, and the way they used beats similar to what was going on with their contemporaries. Lost doesn’t sound like an album someone who been around for 25 years would make. It sounds like something someone who came out today would make. same as CoC sounded back in the day, which, obviously, had it’s reasons for sounding that way. But I just mean, every other icp album is out on it’s own, doing something different. Milenko doesn’t sound like any other rap album from the late 90s that I know of. None of the joker’s cards do, except CoC and now Lost. Which I think is a really interesting connection between the two.
And I definitely hear more repetition than just Confederate Flag. Falling Apart reminds me a lot of Guts on the Ceiling (and to a little extent, the Dead One on ringmaster). Apocalypse reminds me of Murder Go Round on Ringmaster with the nature of the story being about the cyclical nature of violence.
Theres other bits, but i gotta go get some work done.
