Actually a ballad and a ballade are two different things. I guess ballad is more fitting than ballade, but hey. Now we both learned something.

I tried to find the ‘More you Juggaknow” from the G4 thing where they asked ICP for financial advice but couldn’t find it.

If it weren’t for the fact that I think the artwork for the (Lost) album looks fuckin’ gawd awful, I’d happily wear it! Kinda like wearing a shirt that says, “Slacker” ‘er some shit. But maybe that’s the tactic. I also don’t wanna walk around with a shirt that just says (Found) because that’s already in use by Christians amongst their own list of memes they’ve been using for decades.

Amazing Grace, anyone?

Fear may be the mind-killer for some, motivation for others. What I’m getting from this thread is that some Juggalos will never look at the Dark Carnival as an ultimatum.

im not sure what you mean by this, exactly.  interesting way to put it, though.

Rewording: People value different things as necessary for their survival. The Dark Carnival is unconditional to some, more of an unsupervised playground where we learn rather than a list of rules to swallow.

wow, am I glad I stayed out of this topic when it started. reading back the messages it could all be summed up like this.

1. Im an atheist, I dont need faith to be happy… I’ve never been happier then I am now.

2. So FUCK your religious, FUCK Christians, KILL THEM, KILL THEM, KILL THEM!

3. I found true happiness since I lost my faith

4. So FUCK YOUR FAITH!!!! You only need it because your scared to face the unknown. If ICP says JESUS, THEY CAN FUCK OFFFFF!!!!!! IM NEVER GOING TO THE GATHERING OF THE JESUS JUGGALOOOS! I HOPE YOU ALL DIE!!!

5. Im happy.

Ha, right… what ever u guys say. If thats what you guys consider happniess… I wont no part in it.

Juggalos always says that people are always intolerant of them, its a shame to see so called juggalos doing the same to others.

Everyone claims to not believe in a higher power yet your ethics, morals, and basics of the usa law are based off the Christian religion. Right and wrong was determined by religion. so religion has shaped all of our lives whether you admit it or not. Doesn’t mean you believe but someone in your ancestry did at one point. However I find religion no different than magic, science fiction, etc. to believe in God one would also have to believe in other gods, ghosts, and other mythical creatures. You can’t have one without the other. It’s like saying it’s ok to kill a deer or ant but humans are off limits. No murder is murder despite the species

I haven’t said shit on this thread, but man oh man do I disagree with basically all of this.

1. Not all morals and ethics have to do with religion. They can also be attributed to a general respect for the rights of others, and for the mutually beneficial advancement of us as a species.

2. Right and wrong is NOT determined by religion. At least, not for everyone. But I’m pretty sure “Hey, let’s not kill one another” is a concept most cultures, religious or not, can understand. Maybe not follow, but that goes across the board, as well.

3. Sure, religion has shaped everyone’s life in some way. So has the existence of war. Or famine. Or elephants. Or the electric lightbulb. What’s your point?

4. You can’t have one without the other is the most nonsense shit ever. One being true =/= ALL being true. That’s…some of the most insane non-logic I’ve ever heard. I believe black widow spiders exist. Never personally seen one, but I can make a call based on evidence that, yep, they exist. That doesn’t mean El Chupacabra, another animal I’ve never seen, HAS to exist.

5. Killing a deer for food is very different than murder. See, there’s this thing in nature called the food chain…you should check it out sometime. You’re at the very top of that shit. Murder isn’t necessarily an issue because of something being killed, it’s an issue because it benefits us, as a group, to not fucking kill one another. It’s a basic societal contract. You can certainly take issue with killing deer if, say, you believe that the act is bad based on religious, spiritual, or other grounds. But that has jack-shit to do with the rest of the world and what they find acceptable/unacceptable and why. Hell, the definition of murder is:

The killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law.

As for the rest of this thread, I’ve just been munching popcorn and enjoying. You guys are a fucking riot, and I mean that in the best possible way. Bravo.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention. You said:

In what way do the things you mentioned HAVE to mean that a higher power exists? You yourself said you think of it the same as science fiction. Star Wars and Star Trek shaped pretty much all science fiction that followed them. Does that mean I HAVE to believe that Darth Vader and Captain Kirk ACTUALLY exist? I don’t think anybody here is arguing that the book “The Bible” doesn’t exist. The content being FACTUAL is the subject at hand. Just because I believe STAR WARS exists doesn’t mean I believe in THE FORCE or TATOOINE or fucking EWOKS.

For the record, I’m not trying to insult anyone with that. If you believe in Adam and Eve (or Ewoks, for that matter) it’s fine with me. I’m just trying to show how bafflingly backwards the logic chops is employing here is.

After reading this thread I have a feeling people are willing to argue over anything no matter how ridiculous it is. As for you Nemo, I read your posts… you are on point with what you said. dead on. that only means one thing now… here come the trolls.

Titus 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

Titus: 1:11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

If violent j is christian I think his faith is ill concieved and is not a legit christian. But if the guy is honest about his faith (no matter how misconstrued his faith may be) and believes people burn in hell for not being “saved” than I think its pretty cool that the guy has the balls enough to speak up with what he believes and try to “save” people. I used to hate “soul winners” ,door to door cross sales people but my anger for them is also misconstrued. They mean no harm and even if it is my money they are after they only take what I will give (unlike the government). With that being said I think people should relax and tune out if they feel it is necessary because violent j is not spreading word by literal hatchet haha

Is that where Louis talks about getting out of the food chain?

Also, if anyone didn’t know, he released his new special for $5 download.

I feel like J is more of a deist than A Christian, like many of the founding fathers.

My take on the issue is: as long as you are not using your religion to infringe upon the rights of other people, who the fuck am I to tell YOU? What to believe. It’s exactly how I feel with gay marriage. It’s none of my fucking business what they do in the bedroom so why should I care if they want the legal right to marry? Nebraska’s gay marriage ban was actually overturned today, so that’s cool!

I will say this, as far as religious people go, even though their customs are crazy and the masses (in my opinion) are boring as shit, on MOST of the issues Catholics are fairly non-crazy.

Nope. Morality, neither mine nor yours, comes from religion. Some one in my ancestry certainly did believe but I would argue that they didn’t get their morals from religion either. Even if I give you that the bulk of religions message is “Don’t be a dick to one another”, you still have to ignore the insurmountable “lessons” taught by most religion that tell you the exact opposite thing.

For example;

Christianity (I wouldn’t have used it specifically but you mentioned it so I’ll roll with it. Christianity certainly isn’t the only one to do it.), or more specifically, Christianities rule book makes it very clear that owning a slave is a-okay, they’re your property and you can pretty much do whatever you want with them (some restrictions apply. See Exodus and Leviticus for further instructions). Does that mean owning a slave is a morally responsible thing to do? I mean, it certainly is according to Christianity. Unless of course that isn’t where we get our morals.

We get our morals for societal pressures. Turns out when you try to OWN other human beings, they get a little upset. If their message is heard enough, people will begin to see things from their perspective and our morals change. More specifically: we become empathetic to the issue. That happens enough and our ethics change. The same can be said about women, eating shellfish, recreational sex, bestiality, homosexuality, long hair, etc. etc. Our morals and ethics are what they are despite religion, not because of it.

As far as your point about how you see religion, I’m not quite sure I follow. Not that I disagree, I just legitimately don’t understand the point.
