only thing i have against dubstep is that it gets old really fast. unless youre on drugs, i guess.
probably rather hear that, than, say, death metal.
and id rather hear slayer doing covers of skrillex, than pop music.
and, id rather be forced to listen to nothin but pop nine hours a day, than hear one country song.

So I got my preorder Monday…

Meh.
Who wrote the little diatribe on the insert? Reads like a kid’s D&D storyline. “Now they only see a shadow of this world cast in a cold gray carbon”…. Cold gray carbon, huh? Clever? Perhaps not.
Glad to have the actual album. Seems like the streaming thing via SPIN kinda cuts out a few seconds of the intos/skits before the songs.

I think is they don’t limit themselves to only dubstep and use like a bunch of electrical music it would be cool. but that shit hatchet step sounds sick to me. like scruff said dubstep gets old after a minute unless ur on drugs.

I would say ANY genre gets old real quick unless you find someone(s) who are talented. Most dubstep is like most rap. Generic, recycled garbage that people use as wallpaper when they’re doing something. But once you dig deep enough there’s some incredible shit.
I’ve been playing the HatchetStep Dead Body Man and Every Day I Die since I dl that shit. Those two in particular are very, very, fucking good.

After having listened to the album all week, I gotta say the one thing that cracks me up every time…
In the song “How”, Shaggy has a line that goes, “…fuck, my Dad! I wanna slaughter thee!…”
But because you can’t HEAR punctuation, every time I hear it; it just sounds like he’s yelling out the instruction to “Fuck my Dad!”

But after reading the liner notes and listening to the theme… I don’t get it.
Based on the liner, the description of this Missing Link seem very much NOT something you wanna stumble across… but… we’re being told to look for it…

They most likely will. Dark Lotus and MDP where gathering releases that had a release date of right after the gathering but the Merch tent had them available as soon as it opened on the first day.

Cuz I think it would be cool to be able to listen to this particular album on the drive home from The Gathering.
After spending almost a week in Shangri-La, a good time hopefully had by all and then having [Found]’s purported fun, happy sound to hear on the way back!

What’s that line Shaggy says on Confederate Flag about us only having one flag? It’s something like “We all use one flag and it stands for bravery” or some other 4th grade level Independence Day essay shit. I don’t remember the exact line but it gives me such fucking douche chills. Maybe it’s because I like the rest of that song so much that that line jumps out at me more or something. It really does make me cringe.
Like, I imagine Shaggy saluting in front of a giant American flag as a bald eagle wearing a trucker cap swoops in and hands him the Bill of Rights at the exact same moment that a monster truck, driven by George Washington of course, crushes those damned Redcoats. Then they all hunker down for the night with a cold can of Budweiser and discuss various methods for tilling this beautiful god given land of ours as Otis, dressed as Betsy Ross, sings a shitty chorus to them.

I didn’t get the sense the lyric was trying to be all *that kinda patriotic. Just making the point of saying we have a flag; the one of the country yer in.
He never really says *American flag, does he? (can’t recall) so it could apply to anybody’s country that might be listening (even though I don’t know if other countries have the plight of confederate rednecks)…

no that line was obviously about the american flag, “home of the brave” type of shit. and i for one love that line. one of my favorite from the album really. but you have to look at the rest of whats around it to get it.
“there’s juggalos all across the south who don’t wave it. proud of where their from but that flag they hate it, it’s a symbol of slavery. one flag reps us all, it means bravery.”
and earlier j was saying that people use “southern pride” as an excuse to wave the “stars and bars”.
their saying that the only flag you should be flying is the american flag, hillbilly or Yankee, we are all american. not northerners and southerners.
