I wish they’d release everything on vinyl, I’d be into that. Kind of surprised they don’t considering how much merch they like to push.
i don’t see too many people buying vinyls, it’s cool when they have the special edition ones. but for every album? i don’t think there is enough money in it.

I have Riddle Box on vinyl and it sounds great. Don’t know if it exists but Hell’s Pit would also be a great have. I think the problem with all new albums on vinyl is that some don’t work on the format. You could even say they defeat the purpose of some albums. When you switch it over it gets compressed as fuck. Death Pop, for example, would sound terrible on vinyl. The nuances of that album (I didn’t much care for it but that’s neither here nor there) would just disappear. Something without a lot of layers usually works well but that’s a hard find in modern rap, or just a lot of newer music in general.

I think there was actually a limited pressing of carnival of carnage on vinyl i think i saw it on ebay and its extremely rare. Guy wanted like a thousand bucks for it.

I heard the new album, however, I also purchased the Special Edition copy from Hatchet Gear, ordered the digital iTunes version, and plan to get one from the store so show support for them.
It’s a very new sound that I really appreciate. Because it’s so different you may need to give it a second listen before forming an opinion. The first time around my brain was trying to take in all the nuances that differ from their past work. The second time I appreciated the messages of the songs more. The third time I appreciated the album as a whole separate entity. It’s certainly a new feel. You can really hear the producer’s influences here and there, but they came with an original concept and thought provoking lyrics. Can’t wait to listen with CD quality audio.
I’d recommend pre-ordering this album if you haven’t already.

Nevermind. lol.
I think it’s kinda funny that if ICP put out a really clean album people are like “IT’S TOO MAINSTREAM AND OVER PRODUCED” but if they make it a bit distorted and chaotic, they whine that it “sounds like someone on soundcloud made it” and complain that it sounds rushed and unpolished.
I like it. I think it would kill live. I’m only on Shock so far and I dig the fuck out of the sound. I wanted something a bit more wild and unrestrained but this is good.

Now that I’ve had a chance to listen in the car (my usual listening environment) I do hear the mixing issues someone else mentioned. It’s almost as if they had the bass cranked up to high (yes that’s possible). I have presets on my EQ for rap, metal, rock, so on and so forth, most ICP sounds better on the rap setting but this sounds better on the metal preset and that pretty much cancels out the poor mixing. Not sure that anyone cares about all that but maybe it’ll help someone out to enjoy it more.
Still love the CD though and still think it’s the best they’ve put out in many, many years, at least in terms of content/message/lyrics and I do love the heavy beats, just wish they were more balanced. Confederate Flag may be my favorite song ever, I’ve always loved “Your Rebel Flag” from COC and it’s like they took that and upgraded it. “I See the Devil” is another really well thought out track and that ending with the wicked clown laugh gives me chills every time. Other favorites are “Lost”, “Apocolypse”, “Vomit”, “Falling Apart”, “How” & “Flamethrower”.
I’d really like to know which tracks Seven produced, I have my suspicions but not sure.

The release is a week away, I can’t see why it would even be a consideration that it wasn’t finished. It could be a version of the album from 5 months ago that just leaked? Why assume its the newest version?
why assume anything at all?
i aint heard it. for all i know its an elaborate scam by sean law. i kinda doubt it, but i cant prove otherwise, either. he has gotten yall before, so it aint like theres no precedent.
furthermore, why assume that just because youve heard it, those who havent gotta take everything you say at face value?
im not so bothered by the cheapness and dishonesty of dling the leak [although it is dishonest and cheap, you cant argue the opposite], what bugs me is that all these ninjas sneaking it now cant just sit on their opinions for a week.
no, gotta get out there and get your word in now, spoil whatever you can, be the first to trash it/heap praise… and, incidentally, flaunt that their money is too good for psy. doesnt matter how you feel about it, they gotta assume that a download is one less sale. these days, the only income they can count on from album sales, is pre-orders.
we all know that a bunch of the early birds claiming they ordered it, or that theyre gonna order it, wont. they can front about that, but cant front that they didnt steal the album to begin with.
‘but tours…?’ excuse.
‘but i ordered…?’ excuse.
‘but they got more money than me…?’ excuse.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I like it but my issues are..their rap skills have declined, parts are off beat, sounds like they’re reading it
it has absolutely no carnival or jokers card feel to it
hopefully they make a video for falling apart – that track is dope and disturbing at the same time
Okay, well now the critical reviews are coming in…
I just keep thinking about J’s lyrics on the song 3:24, “i dont give a fuck if our records sell anymore”. So if some of you are disappointed with elements of the album, maybe think back to house of wax and give that lyric a serious thought.
