For those reading this and losing hope in the new CD always remember that negative types tend to try to project more and need to be heard. It is completely fine to dislike it but discussing sound quality is moot because it’s not CD quality. Don’t ruin the magic for those waiting by placing too much feedback on here. When I was in school my professors always told me that if I didn’t like something then I’d have to give specific reasons why. Saying, “It sux. The clowns ain’t Twiztid..blah blah” won’t cut it any more. (Never in my life have I heard of two completely different sounding groups being compared to each other for every release.) Lastly, for the juggalos reading this thread in hopes to just hear what songs may be about, etc and finding a bunch of superiority complexes, like this CD or not, ICP is a group of two friends who wanted to be rappers. They made a worldwide name for themselves as two clowns rapping about a carnival and lasted longer than almost all of their competitors. Embrace new work from them. Let them surprise you. That’s what keeps them interesting. Don’t let your expectations cloud the reality of what they’re bringing to the table THIS time. Don’t let a small majority skew your enjoyment of the new Jokers Card.

i was already more or less approaching it that way. some of what ive read has affected my expectations, though. no mike clark or leg versus lots of otis and syn, for example. or whatthefuckever its supposed to be. ill figure it out when i have a copy, im sure.

ICP needs to get back on that Dark Carnival Serial Killer clown shit…….Seems like there strugglin to get back in that Mode a lil bit.Shaggz fuckin Murked a few verses tho.Dude needs to Drop another Solo
I don’t think they want back in that mode to be honest. They def still have it, J is a beast at writing when he wants to, it’s just the sound he aims for I don’t like. It’s kinda upsetting more than anything they have such a loyal fanbase and alot of us just want that one cd that’s the straight up carnival dark wicked shit they used to do. I know people are going to say “times have changed blah blah blah” that has nothing to do with it. They can still bring that old school sound with new stuff incorporated into it. Anybody that says BPB MDP or Lost has a carnival sound to it remotely at all is on drugs. By carnival sound I mean beats, i’m perfectly fine with there lyrics and have been. I miss hearing organs, synths, pianos, goofy ass sounding tracks too.
I really hope Seven gets into alot of this on the next cd. I pictured much much more with Seven for a jokers card I really did. The mans dope with production but for some odd reason I don’t feel like he fits the carnival formula. They’ve been struggling to capture that carnival sound ever since MEC came back to be honest. I’ve heard a few tracks where they sound like there old selves but it’s not very often. The last ICP cd ever worth a purchase was Hell’s Pit IMO

Nothing can take away that magic the first six had, I am glad they are changing it up.
2 Dope really needs to do another Solo, He really has been on point as of late. I cant believe
I’m saying this but I really look forward to his verses/Hooks now more than J’s.
After listening to this for a couple days now it has grown on me…to an extant.
If someone really wants SPECIFICS on why I can’t really dig it, an example of bad mastering
on this would be at around 1:56 on “Lost” it blatantly gets lower than gradually comes back
to where it was, just to get lower again at the end of the song!!!!!
A lot of the vocals are just really muted out. This is an example of bad mastering.
The Hook on “Shock”, like really, no one could have thought of something to be the hook?
The snare on “How” is like the most generic one a person could use, it comes with all pre-set sounds
in most music programs.
Don’t give me that Its not CDQ shit either, True Lossless versions of this have sprung up.
I think the Lawsuit,Touring, Killjoy Club,Re-Structuring Psy and starting the Radio thing up
along with family and other stuff really left them little to no time to put in the effort
to create a project deemed to be a Jokers Card. To those wondering it sounds as if
Esham was at the boards again or It was made on the road in the tour bus.
Most songs sound like stuff that you would find on Forgotten Freshness.
Only a few tracks really seem like time was put in to them. Lyrically and musically.
“Neighbors are Fighting” would be one to support the on-the-run production Im talking
about.
I will buy this to support ICP because no one gives to the fans more than these two
but, I would like to say I bought it because it was a bomb ass Record.
Fingers crossed “Found” gets back to the same formula ICP knows they
are good at.

Alright so I’ve heard the album through a few times now. While there are some definite good things to say about the album, I still stand by my initial thought that they went way too overboard on the dirty south Paul Wall/Three 6 Mafia sound. Sounds more like a Killjoy Club album than an ICP album, much less a Joker’s Card. I actually laughed out loud when I thought about the fact that some of the album is kind of like the crunk part of “Radio Stars” but they are actually serious this time.
If I had to put my finger on something that is the real “issue” with this album, it’s that it just does not feel like a Joker’s Card at all. On each of the first 6 Joker’s Cards, there really seemed to be an entity and a mythological background and story to the Joker Card himself. Aside from the intro of the album, there’s basically no reference to what the hell The Marvelous Missing Link really is, and the presence just isn’t felt. BPB and MDP had a similar issue, but to a way lesser extent than MML. Who knows, maybe those of us who aren’t totally feeling the album may have had an easier time digesting it if it wasn’t labeled as a Joker’s Card and was a Bizaar/Bizzar type of situation? I hope this whole paragraph has made some sort of sense.
Again though, definitely not all negative things to say. I respect any band/musician/rapper/whatever that has a long career and isn’t afraid to broaden their horizons. “Confederate Flag” and “Flamethrower” are total bangers in my opinion. I take it that the very, very end of “I See The Devil” is a glimpse into “Found”. That should be interesting to see where they take that.
P.S. The only thing that really made me laugh on this album is Shaggy’s line from “Confederate Flag” which goes “Stick your fuckin flag pole right up your fag hole” hahah, gold Jerry, gold.

Im sure the backstory of TML is going to be told in the booklet that comes with the CD.
