I'm reading the most incredible book, The Conspiracy Against The Human Race: A Contrivance of Horror by Thomas Ligotti, about how consciousness is an unparalleled tragedy foisted onto us by nature that can only lead to suffering, and how the ultimate goal of humanity is to completely eliminate suffering so as to reach the end goal of realizing that, all things being perfect and happiness being inevitable and attained by all, non-existence is the superior state as compared to existence.

Family came home a day early to beat the snowstorm. I'll be heading to work in it, tomorrow early AM to start shoveling. I do the kind of work that is foreign to republican conservative types. They know little about hard labor, and that's fine. I don't mind doing the hard work for them so that their families can function. I'm sort of like a fleshy welfare king God to them; I guard them while they sleep, build for them, feed them, impregnate their Spawn, etc.

Last summer, whilst living in a mostly primitive cabin for August, there was some spam in there that I had for provisions. The trick is to cook it to a crispy char and load it with ketchup, and eat it as fast as possible. At that point I hadn't had Spam in like ten years. Tasted worse than I remember, but I was grateful.
Apparently it is a staple in lots of Hawaiian dishes.
