ICP are not agnostic. They are clearly theists.

not necessarily mutually exclusive.

i mean, depending on what school of philosophy you favor.

remember, atheism and agnosticism are not the same thing.

i actually think the first sentence of omds non-drunken post is extra plausible.  they may not even be aware of it themselves.

The Marvelous Missing Link is different. I personally think they could have been better without Otis, and with MEC. Still some good shit in there though...... I enjoy and appreciate the Insane Clown Posse, regardless of their personal beliefs.

There are all kinds of beliefers. Many believe that there "was" a God, but God died at some point. We are perhaps sailing through the impossible without an end, and maybe thats good, maybe thats indescribably horrendous.

Some feel that maybe the Force behind it all, God, is a cold and uncaring being. Maye he/she/it is cruel by nature, or choice, or laziness, or fate, or by insanity at being alive for so long. Maybe by cold and uncaring, God does not put any effort into surveying it all. Maybe God CANNOT survey it all. Maybe the things which we feel are impossible to all but God really are impossible. Whether this current discussion is imaginary, a hologram, a dream, whatever, we all can agree that it exists on SOME level. And not even God can completely annhilihate this perceived reality that we all are sharing on this message board. God could destroy existence ad history itself, perhaps, but at this moment, God cannot. That shows me that God is not All Powerful.

I know what an agnostic is and I've always described myself as an agnostic atheist because I lean more towards atheism.

But they are not agnostic. They believe there is a higher power. They believe in heaven and hell. They don't believe any particular religion, but they do believe there is a higher power. They don't preach of not knowing if there is a god or not, they preach that they know there is a god. No agnosticism in that. They are convinced.

Cue this thread getting derailed by talks of religion and one's beliefs yet again. Sorry, I'm not one to bitch, but can't yall ever just start a new thread about all this in the general section...?

yeah, but then, this thread was started as some total speculation, and has been renamed like four times to reflect the changing subjects.  basicly, it shoulda been split into a thread speculating, a thread anticipating, one discussing/reviewing the albums [or one for each], another about god/spirits/carnivals/atheists/general theological bickering, and probably two or three more.

its a lil weird, havin the 'official discussion' for the missing link [both albums] begin before anybody had the first clue what it was called or how many there were...

Can't have an album like Missing Link and not have the religion conversation. Just be grateful that nobody is at each other's throats. Even though what I believe is the truth that is scientifically proven by my perception and anybody else who doesn't have the same point of view is a stinky caca poo poo head.

I also don't think a tiny spec of doubt makes them agnostic. I think they are firmly in the theist camp. If they weren't they would not make this album.

I lean towards atheism but I don't go around telling people that there is no god, because I don't firmly believe there is no god. I don't have the faith, or confidence in my atheism to truly believe that or preach that. In fact, I love trashing the asshole atheists. You know which atheists I'm talking about. The ones that think they are smart because they are atheist. "I believe in science!" "That's funny, I've never seen you read anything scientific. You don't know bout dat string theory. You are just as scientifically ignorant as you claim theists to be." I've literally defended Christianity just to spite people like that. Make them look like dumb asses as I defend something I don't even believe. Also, my come back to "If god is real than how come he doesn't feed the hungry and cure disease and stop the wars." is "How come humans don't feed the hungry and cure disease and stop the wars". Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Biblical God isn't a servant meant to fix all of our problems. It's us that are supposed to fix all of our problems. I ramble.

they do.

in fact, i would put it to ya that humans are the only ones that ever feed the hungry, cure disease, or stop wars.

where do you think your food, medicine, and defense comes from?

its just that they just arent especially good at it, is all.

If the god thing became a different thread there wouldn't be nearly as much discussion. If there's a thread called "Thoughts on god" I think a lot of people would ignore the fuck out of it and thus, lose out on some solid conversation but if they see it here they're more likely to actually jump in.

Most people, if they're being honest, are agnostic. Meaning they don't know if there's a god. I don't see what that has to do with ICP being theists though. Believing in some form of god (which they are very clear on) and knowing there's a god are two different things. They tend to jump back and forth between "knowing" and having doubts about knowing with certainty but, as far as I know, they've never said they don't believe. Pretty sure that makes them theists that dabble in agnostic theism.

I'm happily surprised at how chilled out Juggalos have been about it. At least the ones that I've talked to and seen. There's a few that have done the mindless shit but no where near as many as there was during the Wraith era.

Any time I see an atheist share "I fucking love science" I can't help but judge them in my head. No, you don't love science, you love easily digestible pictures that you think make you smart. There's definitely some atheists that treat it EXACTLY like a religion. There's a lot of things Richard Dawkins says that I completely disagree with and there are people that lose their fucking mind when I tell them as much.

I piss them off by telling them the truth. Religion is science. It's scientific theory.

most likely.

at the same time, any and all of us are capable of starting new threads to help keep shit flowin on topic.  sometimes we do, sometimes we dont, you know how it goes.  sometimes its just easier for a moderationist to rename the thread.

i, also, am happily surprised.  even the god/no-god quibbles within this thread, detracting though they may be, are still pretty mild.

shangrila days, there was surely more dramamongering.  from both camps.  it was a drag.

Idk, I thought about that today, and was amazed. what a journey

I have thought about this. I'm pretty amazed too, even though I'm 12 and only been around since House Of Wax.

Nope, according to a card dropping every 3 years, the 5th will drop in 2021, the 6th in 2024. Afaik they were born around '72, so they are gonna be 52 in 2024. Old, but they still gonna have time left. In fact, "two decks", two, that's not a magical number. Guess they gonna have to go on for a third deck then. We'll see. cool

The Marvelous Missing Link

Lost - Shock

Found - Lost At The Carnival

Outtakes - Immortal

Haunted By The Devil is not Hallowicked material and was destroyed with Young Wicked, as were many of the songs that have had him singing since he has been back. Wonder how complex his contract is that he has an ability to destroy their music and offend juggalo eardrums. He used to be okay in a sense, now he is a rappering rapper rap R&B singer artist, and a majority of his skills are whackness......

As opinionated by me and mine...

Of the three, I'm now listening to the Outtakes the most.

I don't mind Haunted By The Devil, it's grown on me. But yeah, I have a feeling we're going to be seeing/hearing a lot of Young Wicked for awhile. I don't think he's terrible, and truthfully, I was not feeling the direction MEC was taking them on the last few albums. As far as production goes, this is by far my favorite era of the new deck.
