It seems like Monoxide needs to do some research of his own. It’s true that they did away with the gang threat assessment list, but the ramifications of being placed on that list are still affecting Juggalos. The information laid out in the gang report is still being used by local law enforcement to unfairly profile Juggalos as criminals and gang members. Incarcerated Juggalos are still being placed in gang segregation units and law abiding citizens are still facing fivilous termination of employment. Not to mention the underlying threat to free speech that this conflict represents, which true believers of the concept understand requires constant vigilance to safeguard no matter who you are.

Besides, Juggalos and ICP proper do participate in non profit food drives, community clean ups and other such philanthropic endeavors. Some of the things he suggested already exist in a certain capacity and don’t benefit Juggalos as a whole anymore than a public demonstration in defense of civil liberties will. I get that many Juggalos face other hardships, but there’s still an outstanding community that can (and does) help them on a case by case basis. Besides, following that sort of reasoning lends credence to the notion that there’s something wrong with us. That we’re the thing that needs fixing.

He’s entitled to his opinion but it’s disingenuous to posture as though his nonparticipation has some claim over the moral high ground. Nobody asked Twiztid to be altruistic, but the way that I see things if Paul can’t put his money where his mouth is and use some of his own resources to make those ideas he proposed a reality then that makes him a hypocrite, and in my book hypocrites can shut the fuck up.

In Twiztid’s response video they call the Juggalo March “his march” and consider it “publicity for another band.” That seems like a straight up explanation as to why they won’t be there. Respect.
