and just where in your contract do you expect to find the ‘you can have our property when you leave’ clause?

dont ever sign anything, lucem.  not even for kicks, not even for kanye.  if you think the biz works this way, they will straight up wash you.

And I’m not saying “who cares” I care enough to discuss it. I also care enough to pay attention to it. What I’m saying is why do you feel entitled to know shit that isn’t your business?

Spooky asked the same question, I don’t think “entitled” is the right word but I hear your point. Kind of related to you caring/not caring/, to some Juggalos there absolutely is an emotional investment in all of this. I’m not “entitled” to know about my friend leaving their wife but if they put the shit out there I’m going to care and have an opinion because it’s my friend. You not being a Juggalo means you don’t have the same connection with that friend. Make sense?

And why is that your deciding factor on which art to support?

Eh, I guess I’ll take my leave now and let you and Cheshyr go back and forth because I actually don’t give a shit about the personal lives thing. I didn’t like Twiztid/YW before and I still don’t. My only point was that it’s impossible for you to see it the same way as Juggalos because you’re not as deeply invested in it. So I’ll shut up now.

But I understand that already. That’s why you negotiate contracts.

Debatable on who the masters should belong to. You’d think anybody involved should have the rights to them. The artist that put in all that work, the producer, and the label. Of course most deals the label owns them because the label wants to make all the money off of them.

And you fail to give me a reason why it’s a big deal other than it’s the status quo… the status quo does not justify shit…

I know that, what I don’t know is does that mean ICP can’t anymore?

I would imagine so. And even if psy tried, mne could under cut them.

I obviously am invested into the culture if I’m still here…

And this attitude is not exclusive to juggalos. Any die hard fan gets like that. Watch how many Kid Cudi fans turn on Lupe. Or hell, the east vs west coast beef.

I understand wanting to know, but demanding to know is where it goes far. Because it’s not anybodies right to know. Even with my friends, if I have two friends get into a fight I will want to know why. But I won’t demand to know why. And it won’t change who I’m friends with. Unless one of them rapes the other or something really really fucked up. But that is much much more personal than the lives of artists. My connection is with the art more than the artist. Though, it does suck to know that an artist can be a shady piece of shit. At the same time I understood the possibility that all of them are humans flawed like the rest of us anyways.

From what I’ve been reading giving exclusive ownership of your masters to a record label is a bad idea. That only major labels demand this these days. Especially since times have changed. And I’ve also read about lots of artists owning their masters and giving specific rights to different labels. Like one label only handling marketing in north america while another handles it in europe and another handles it in Japan.

Assuming they gave up the masters and they completely belong to Twiztid now, it means ICP can’t make any money off of them, can’t put their music in their own videos or put their music in movies or anything like that and make money off of it. Only Twiztid can license the music out. It’s a shitty business deal on ICP’s part but if they are supposed to be the family or homies then I don’t see why it’s a big deal.

that is why, fool.  cuz theyre supposed to be homies.

twiztid been acting like homies, after that hookup?  done anything homie-like in return?

see?  or is that how you do your family and homies?  demand stuff that aint really yours like its no big deal?

second, and far more pertinent to the moment…

it aint my, nor anybody elses, responsibility to make you see why its a big deal.  so why harp on it?  youre startin to sound like a housewife who only knows four things to talk about.

On the subject of undermining Lucem’s opinions because he isn’t a Juggalo, and this is a true story…

I’ve been listening to Bloodstepp’s Skinwalker Ranch since it dropped. Lucem’s verse on Aliens and Corpses is my favorite verse on that album. Thing is, I just today realized by glancing at my phone at the right moment that this is the dude who raps on that track. I didn’t know. I’m a relative noob here and I don’t know that guy from a can of Spaghetti-O’s, but I know what I like.

The reason I point this out is because that verse is an intelligent assessment of the controversial underpinnings of horrorcore culture, which Juggalos are tied heavily to. A lot of what is said still applies. Anybody with that kind of insight shouldn’t be written off lightly as ‘not getting it’, just because he might not have the fanboy cred or sense of brand loyalty of your typical Juggalo. It’s actually refreshing to have somebody in the trenches with us who isn’t effected on a personal level by the internal politics, a counterweight to the borderline religious devotion and infallibility others tend to place on the artists. I’d even go so far as to grant him quarter to speak from the perspective of an artist without being too cynical about it.

I don’t agree with dude on a lot of things he says, but I think the perspective he brings is valuable.

theres like eight forum cats on that album.  ifn you didnt know.

all well and good, and id agree.

but still, when you say ‘i dont get it’, followed by ‘im not a juggalo’, followed by ‘i dont get it’, followed by…

et cetera.  there is a chicken and egg component to that dynamic that he is pretending to be unaware of.

for a lil background, lucem has a very long established habit of playin the devils advocate over his own beliefs [and intelligence].

which is his right.  but a clear front, by any standard.

Lucem is out of our atmospheres. Fuckin’, no one knows what’s about to hit em when they hear the “Lucem Ferre” tag on his tracks. He’s unfuckwitable. Dare I quote a popular rap song, “I’m on a new level, I’m on a new level”. That’s Lucem. In J’s words about Twiztid, “if I was on their dick any harder, I’d be a condom”. That’s me to Lucem. I shown my dad Lucem’s shit recently, he likes metal n shit, Iron Maiden, Slayer, whatnot, n he agrees that Lucem puts out the darkest wickedest shit out there, and no one even KNOWS about Lucem yet. Even Lucem’s techno dance rave music shit fuckin’ hits, and I don’t even listen to that kinda music much, but he does it right.

As for this ICP n Twiztid shit, shit man, I don’t know. @dcfaygoguy made a point that he’s just gonna stick to strictly music and not even care about the bullshit, which is a good point. But, when all they talk about is, “it’s more than just music”, it’s like I’m lost in an acid trip when I try to stick by both points.

two thoughts about this.

speakin personally, it aint been ‘just music’ for quite a long time.  music is secondary.  its been juggalos.

and, not that im keepin statistics, but more than a few of the ‘its just music’ ninjas followed up by immediately declaring their favor for one ‘side’, or slammin the other.  so what the diff.

What do I think about Twiztid?  Overall, I really like them.

They bring a lot of entertainment to my life from the video youtube content and music.  They seem like some down to earth kinda dudes, every talented.  They are getting better about this, as I just listened to the newest ATAAF.  But god damn, they used to be mad disrespectful to the callers calling in…..yes, are some 14 and half fuckin retarted….absolutely.  But to everyone….your acting like a dickhead??  It just used to bother the fuck outta me.  Like “Jaime shut the fuck UP!”  Such a motor mouth.  Now I’ve only really met them a handful of times and they were super awesome in person.  So there’s that………But that was the only thing that kinda got to me when it came to them.

9/10 Overall.

Okay.

But who’s “lie” were we believing?

Twiztid’s lies about being cool with everyone or ICP’s lie of omission about how much they had to pull teeth to get Twiztid to stay a part of The Family?

YOU WERE RIGHT!

Is that what you need in order to help further the conversion? BEEF AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE AND YOU SAW IT MILES AWAY!

Good for you!

Now let’s get back to the part where we don’t get answers as to HOW DEEP that beef is that would make Twiztid do what they did.

This ain’t no contract negotiation shit. This is on their fuckin’ honor as far as I’m concerned. Family shit.

Like I said, this REMOVES any selling point Twiztid may have had on all this MYSTERY BEEF OOOoooohhh! No translation needed but what IS NEEDED is that explanation from Twiztid as to why they did what they did.

NOT THE MARCH!!!!

Don’t let anybody continue to get this shit fucked up with Twiztid’s rejection of being a part of the march! THAT can be a debate for the ages… but anyone on the fence about how FUCKED UP that YW shit is…. I can’t help you there, ninja.

I’m down for Twiztid TO BE SURE…. up until they come up with some bullshit excuse from here on out. I’ll just lose that respect and it’ll be done.
