Back in 1997 in Butler, New Jersey, there was a man. This man had a simple thought to start up a label and bring together underground metal acts and get them exposed and shown for what talented young fucks they truly are. This man’s name is Chris Poland, this is the guy responsible for bringing out the people from the furthest most left field there is and making their music fit where it belongs most, in your sound system. He’s responsible for bringing about acts like Mushroomhead, Bobaflex, Cipher, and now Dead By Wednesday.

Based out of Connecticut the metal packed fist blasting your jaw features members: Marc Allan(screams/vox) Ceschi Ramos(vox), Opus(drums), Mike MOdeste(Bass), and Ross Ragusa(guitar). Still coasting on the waves of their debut album, “Democracy is Dead”, the group has had an eventful last couple of years running around on the underground. Before the release of their sophomore album, “The Killing Project”, they had done various, wide ranging things to try and break the mold and be found by a following they could call their own. First things first that I can remember on hearing about these guys period was the Underground Psychos Contest held by Psychopathic Records back during the 2005 Gathering of the Juggalos. Obviously we all know who won that, but since then they’ve been making moves and paying their dues. They have toured with the Insane Clown Posse on the promotional tour for their release “The Tempest”.

When stepping into the studio to lay down these tracks the ultimate goal they were going for was something that sounds very similar to what Hed(PE) has said before, but with a more metal aspect; the government corrupt, unjustified wars, overthrow the system, and other anarchistic views. The albums sounds are very hard driving, melodious, and dark bringing you into an instant state of rage or anger. Getting your adrenalin pumped up with whatever it is that’s making your blood bubble. To me this is the sound that many young kids at an Ozzfest or some type of Metal Festival like that are looking for. Don’t let me be the one to segregate the group off of that statement. Over the past couple of years many kids’ juggalos, hip-hop, metal, or whatever they associate themselves with have been braking down the audio barriers and calling out for musical integration. Give it a look and good listen before you judge, just like that book you wanted to put down, but still read out of wonderment.

One thing that I like that Opus, of the group, said when making this album is “fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity” it’s an oxymoron which needs to be handled abruptly. These guys seem like they are at the point in their career where they are the opening group looking for headlining spot. The group that can get the crowd started off with the pit and keep them swinging until the last kids wig is split. Check them out if you’d like the links are right below, if not then keep being musically ignorant and boast your opinion even though you have no diversity.
