2009! Happy Fuckin New Years, again, and what a time it is. It’s a time of many changes that have happened and just a glimpse of more to come. What a way for Suburban Noize to set off the timeline of changes then to have Hed(PE) come fresh out of the studio with a brand new album, New World Orphans, jocked full of 26, that’s right, 26 BRAND SPANKIN’ new tracks.

Only further perpetuating the ideas and beliefs that the government is not only corrupt, but fucking us, it’s constituents over and over time and time again; whether it’s with taxes, bullshit reasons to go to war, or who the next president would/should be these guys are very much into the idea of waking up the human race and making them aware. Along with the ideology of sticking together as one solid group and overcoming, as a whole, the problems in front of us that were caused by no one other than the person in the mirror.

The sounds on this album are a lot like any other Hed(pe) CD, but that’s the sound that many of their fans have grown to love and appreciate. The band still coming at your eardrums once again with the hard and driving riffs of their metal roots, to then blend it into a mellowed out version with fresh ass raps on top of them. Yet it also sounds like that on this album they’ve matured more and grown up. If you compare it to albums past they have become more socially conscious giving back more then they want to take. If anything all they want to take is their fans by the hands to the land where all the questions are answered and there is no conspiracy.

A very prevalent feeling or thought on this album that has started surface more and more lately, besides fuck the emo kids and how fucking gay they are, is to help one another. If we don’t help each other how are we as a group supposed to progress toward our ultimate goal of a global community that lives together in harmony?

Basically Hed(PE) is showing us that in 2009 there are some things that need to be more then just said, they need to be done and put forth into action. We have already seen this with the 2008 election results of electing President Obama to power. It’s a year of change: environmentally, socially, and most important Musically. Cop this album and open your mind’s third eye and look deeper then just the surface.
