Looks like it. At least they’ll probably show up though. So we have that going for us. I guess.

Gotta say I’m thrilled about the main/second stage additions. (hed)P.E. is one of my favorite bands to see live. Tech and KMK are long time favorites I’ve never had an opportunity to see. I was REALLY hoping to see Ces Cru get added, so that’s a pretty big bonus. Not a big Stevie Stone fan, but I’ve liked at least half of his stuff I’ve heard. LCN I hadn’t heard of before, but what I quickly Youtube’d sounds REALLY promising.

Lineup is coming together quite nicely, thus far.

As far as the Pendulum stage, I made it through about half the videos posted on the GOTJ site before I gave up. ajax, Dark Half, Insane Poetry, and Mr. Grey all sound promising. DurtE sounds alright too, but I instantly had a deja vu moment when I started his video… Sure enough, I was right – dude’s voice is EXACTLY the same as The Jokerr’s. Kinda gave me a WTF episode lol.

Either way, it sounds like every stage will certainly warrant keeping an eye on from time to time – just, obviously, some more than others.

I hope I’m not the only one that feels oddly “bad” for the artists that play during odd hours. I know how pissy *I* get when I get a shitty DJ opener slot (cuz no one shows up till 11p anyway). So I always feel a little obligated to at least try to listen to two or three songs before I decide whether or not to wander off. I mean, it’s the daytime, probably fuckin’ hot and I’m sure it’s a little disconcerting (pun?) to come out without people pressed up to the stage.

I may not have heard of a bunch of them but I give them respect for coming out to entertain us. Art is where you find it. As long as yer lookin’.

But then again, I also feel bad for flyer people too. Tryin’ to hand people stuff they may not be interested in. May not even get eye contact. Poor bastards.

I never thought I would actually get to see NoEmotion GoldMask live. I don’t think he will ever blow up enough to get really big, but I think he’s fucking hilarious. Seriously, listen through his albums. Once you get past the unorthodox way he raps, it’s fucking great. I don’t really have any way to explain WHY I think his music is awesome, I just do, I guess.

Need a few more comedians. Never got into wrestling so not sure how much I’ll like Mick Foley.

Ok. Maybe I’ve been living under a rock but who the hell is Steve Roggenbuck?
ICP’s facebook page shows this:

Hey ninjas! What are the top three bands that you would most love to see at the Gathering this year?
PS: We’re referring to bands that have NOT been confirmed.

Most of the entries say Steve Roggenbuck. I googled him and not sure how he fits. Is it a joke that I’m just not in on?

I like LCN but don’t expect too much live they aren’t stellar.  I saw them open for KMK and on wax and on their videos they are formidable group of MCs, but live there a bunch of aging legends with diva complexes.  Everlast and DJ Lethal aren’t with them anymore also if I remember correctly.  Now its just Ill Bill, Slaine, Danny Boy, (Who was the shit during the House of Pain reunion tour) and some rando DJ.  Don’t wanna rain on your parade but I also did not want expectations to be dashed.

@OCJ_Brendan I wasn’t aware Everlast HAD been part of them. Now that I would have been excited for – Whitey Ford Sings The Blues is one of my favorite albums of all time, from start to finish.

@piggofdoom No prob, I mis-read posts all the damn time. We’re human lol.

@Psyral-infection No idea who that is either, so don’t feel bad. Mick Foley is a hell of a character, even disregarding the wrestling career. Him doing a stage show or routine or whatever he’ll be doing, I’m willing to bet will be worth watching.

The only thing I’m wishing would be added would be one of “I’m too white to rap but I do it anyway” guys… Like Watsky, S’pose, even Asher Roth maybe (Of the three I much prefer Watsky, FYI). Or Bionic Jive if they’re even still performing together?

@ocj_brendan damn I didn’t know Everlast was gone, that’s a shame. I wonder if it has to do with (I think it was) his daughter’s health problem… and @entrappedmind i also love Whitey Ford Sings the Blues. Great album. Haven’t heard any of his subsequent albums though… I also saw some live Everlast footage and his damn throat ur something, man he sounded horrible. He sounded Luke a dragon coughing up its last raps. But he was a trooper and kept on, guitar and all.

I’m fairly certain more comedians will be added. If you were able to watch the ICP Theatre episodes, I’d be willing to bet a couple of those that appeared there might show up.

As far as Mick Foley is concerned, for those that are unfamiliar, there’s a pretty cool documentary on him (NON-WWE produced) on Netflix that will endear the hell outta him to you. His one man shows have gotten some pretty good reviews from people that have never watched wrestling but those who *have know that his humor really came out during the remotes/smack talk segments where he came up with crazy stuff totally ad-lib. He’s a cool guy on top of that. I’ve met him a couple times while working events at Universal.

Wait for the infomercial, ya’ll! All will be revealed! I wanna know it all too but I like being surprised *more!

(like in the free stuff/bonus track/happy birthday kinda way. not the other kind…) :P

I got the honor and privilege of seeing the House of Pain reunion tour about three years ago and Everlast KILLED IT….The House of Pain set was about four songs then Danny Boy and Lethal just sang backup on Everlast’s back catalog…it was over an hour set of bangers…I went with my girl and my OG and his fat tattooed ass almost cried from happiness when he played “Ends”.  We ended the night at this seedy strip club in  the maryland suburbs of DC (SHOUT OUT TO CLUB FUEGO) where Biship had a stripper offer to put his gut on her back…classy broad…good night.

Okay ive been doing research on this new venue and im hearing nothing but bad things about it. Everything from getting your belongings being torn apart at the front gate searching for shit, the owner letting undercover police walk amonst the crowd at their festivals, even letting the police setup a post INSIDE the venue and arresting people left and right for dumb stuff. I dont know how safe I would feel about going if thats the case. Can anyone else confirm this or chime in?

I doubt Psychopathic would let this happen. I would bet that they have a contract with the owners about bringing their own private security like they have in the past. I just doubt that they would book a place where we all just couldn’t have fun and all their fans would be getting arrested and/or thrown out.

@ypsi-foolish

First, as this is a whole new location for everyone any preconception we might have involving previous Gatherings are out the window. For better or worse :/

But we all on the same page with this kinda stuff as well. Take a look a few pages back and you may get a couple answers to a few of your concerns, such as:

The promoters are the ones that call the shots on security issues on ‘private land’. Considering this guy Trickle came to *Psychopathic about holding the event there, I doubt they would create a bunch of static that would prevent or create an even “other than” what has been historically considered to be The Gathering.

ALL festivals search your vehicles and The Gathering has never been different but they are really just looking for weapons and glass. Now to the degree of dickishness that any one security person might do so, I can’t comment on. But as previously stated, Psychopathic will be providing the security staff (or at least adding to it).

Another thing you might enjoy checking out are any videos you might find from OTHER events that have been held at LegendValley. The place is regularly host to what you might call ‘hippy or raver’ type events as well as bike clubs and country fests (and even though I’m sure we’re all on the “right side” of listening to country, those muthas can drink and smoke with the best of us at those things). IOW, we’re expected. Maybe we’ll be bringin’ more of the ruckus, but Trickle (the owner) has BEEN to a few Gatherings on his own so…

Honestly, not being a forum dick, go back a few pages in this thread. I am right there with ya on the freakout tip (easily excited) and have poured over maps and Youtube and festival pages for events that have are and will be held there looking for whatever I can on this joint and others have brought whatever they’ve found here. And if YOU find any links to stories (good or bad) about encounters there, PLEASE post them!
