So what do you think should be done? Want to be done? Etc. My list of stuff.

– No more young wicked on hooks. If you’re going to use him, use him rarely. Make him a “special appearance” type of thing to me.

– More time on projects / albums – lyrics seem lazy to me and everything sounds semi-rushed. It’s like half assed to me. I know this is isn’t what they’re capable of.

– Bring MEC back – Only to work with ICP. Nobody else. That way he’s not overloaded with music. Let him mike p, seven, and wicked all fuck around in the studio. MEC is the only one to bring the “clown” sound in the vocals and mixes best with them. I truly would love to see him back as long as he’s going to make dope shit. As stated in the MEC thread if you go back and listen to all his old instrumentals that was posted in that thread, the man is capable of so much more. Stop using shitty sounds and bring back the old sound! I personally think ICP’s music would be MUCH better that way. There’s a distinct difference between the older beats and new beats.

– Esham on PSY. I for one really enjoyed esham on psy, need to sign him again.

– Release of projects – Need to stop saying something is coming out “???” and just totally brushing it off and not speaking about it. That’s what truly drives me away from psy at times.

that’s all I can think of ATM. What about you guys?

I think I can relate to this the most.

Since ICP has stated a few times now that they’re gonna focus on themselves and their music instead of other’s, I wish they would just tell everyone else to go elsewhere to release shit. ABK, Hoodoo, AMB, whoever else is left on PSY. Don’t leave them hanging.

I don’t want them to leave but they need to hire more producers and open a side studio or something. They shouldn’t all be recording at the lotus pod. It just doesn’t make sense.

I think ABK should definitely leave PSY. He’s got a good thing going with Native World. It’s not as well known as PSY, but at least he wouldn’t have to run anything by J anymore. He could do what he wants. Like release Shapeshifter, because PSY just don’t seem interested in doing that confused

AMB has Canonize, but where would Hoodoo go?

If the abk album it’s as done as It’s supposed to be, i think they should just put it up online on their new digital section.

I think they should bring mec back and do just the jokers cards with him. Let other people produce the side projects and bonus discs and secondary releases. For jokers cards, i don’t think they sound lazy or rushed but i think things sound a little stronger when they build the songs up with Mike rather than just taking beats and spitting over them.

I’d like less ICP releases and more side projects. Since missing link we got a total of 4 albums. That’s 4 albums in less than a year. Dope shit on all of them, but why not use some of that space to create new side projects.

I’d like them to work with more outside acts. When twiztid was around i got sick of them the way most people do young wicked. For my part, I’d be curious to hear how they’d sound with non Juggalo acts. Jack white does the thing where he produces random music which is how we got lich mich arse or whatever. I’d love to hear their version of that. They could do a whole compilation album like psychopathics from outer space with just one shot side projects, then see which ones get the most love and bring out an ep or lp from them as time goes by.

I’m glad they’re playing that festival in Montreal. I wish they’d play more festivals and get out in front of non Juggalos once in a while.

I’m on record as wishing they’d release something crazy and punk rock sounding. I was hoping lost would sound more like how ho99o9 sound which is why When i found them i jumped on their nuts so hard.

I wish they’d stop hyping stuff up by comparing it to the old shit.

This is a message i can get behind.

Sounds like a bunch of complainers up in this bitch.

although, what rob said about working with outside artists. yes i would like to see more of that, but dont you think it would be weird, everytime the do a collab it feels super gimmicky.

It doesn’t have to be every time they collab. Just something special and unique to certain collabs.

That list is all things they have been doing for a decade plus lol.

The ‘speculation’ and release/project announcement has been going on since forever.

As far as their other acts. In this day and age no one NEEDS a label to release shit anymore, a lot more people are indy and doing well from it, I think the only reason they stay on Psy and put up with the BS is for the couple thousand guaranteed juggalo sales.

It’s not bitching, it’s the truth. If you can sit and say they put everything they got into killjoy club, the TMML then you’re on some kind of drugs. They had what 3 years to drop TMML and it def doesn’t sound like a 3 year cd. The songs on House of wax sound way more polished lyric wise than anything off of TMML. hell, i’ll even go as far to say that lotus could have been way better.

Again, i’m not saying I hate any of the newer releases, just saying they could have been WAY better. There best bet with TMML would have been to just combine it and make it one big cd. I would have been really happy with that. Wicked on 9646948649864 different choruses drives me up the wall too. I don’t know how people can’t see a steady decline in ICP’s music, no matter how long they’ve been around you can hear the effort put into music, lyrics, and artwork.

I still think they have it in them to create something absolutely stunning, i’m just waiting for it to happen. Sometimes J just needs inspiration but when alot of people say “things are fine the music is fine” that’s why we get half assed shit. It took how long of bitching about MEC not around then EVERYONE wanted him around to produce everything. Look where that went.

I’m looking at it from a different view, and I know alot of the ‘juggalos’ are going to say no that’s your opinion, but in all honesty, it’s not. I know alot of people that feel the same way and have stopped listening because of it. So take it for what it is. I just want good lyrics and dope ass beats.

I liked some and hated others. I just meant they should do it more often and consistently, rather than just as a bonus disc on one album.

The lotus album is one of the best albums they’ve released in decades. It is your opinion and yeah there might be people who agree with you but there are people who disagree with you too. We all want good lyrics and dope ass beats but we all bring different expectations with what those words mean.

Yea you’re right but I just expect more from em. I feel like they’re at like 30% and not giving it there full 100. Beats are probably my biggest gripe. There’s been some dope beats tho

More or less in my case. Maybe a little less. Am I as hyped about new ICP releases these days? No not really. It’s real hit and miss these days over at PSY. Am I hyped about other newer horrorcore artist releases? Hell yeah. I’ve been exploring outside the PSY/MNE scene as of late, and have come around to some obscure artists that aren’t so heard of. Mr E & Redrum aka The Murder Mystery, Kung Fu Vampire, The Gravediggaz (6 Feet Deep is an amazing album), Wednesday 13 (punk rock/metal), etc. Maybe I like the whole horror thing more than most people do, I just enjoy the insanity of it. The bringing out of the darker side, gimmicks and personality shifts when the music invades your ears. Living out twisted fantasies and vengeance through the music. For me it’s a catharsis for the pent up anger I feel from bullshit that’s gone or going on.

Will I ever quit listening to this type of music? Hell no, I’m a Juggalo. This stuff runs in my veins.

What Psy is and needs to continue to be is a vehicle for projects that J and Shaggs want to do, and that they get excited about doing and performing.  The only reason ICP is still around after all these years is that they keep it fresh by doing what they want to do instead of doing what they think people are going to want to hear. I’m not a big Killjoy fan but that show was live as fuck because they were having so much fun doing it.  I am a HUGE Ringmaster fan, and that show was live as fuck too not just because it was Ringmaster but again because they were having so much fucking fun doing it.  The day Psy becomes about anything other than what projects J and Shaggs are going to have fun with is the beginning of the end of ICP.

darklotusfaygo  I understand where you’re coming from. This is kinda how I felt after MDP.

I love the direction they’ve been in since House of Wax.

TMML is my favorite era of the new deck. I don’t love Found but there is enough on that album, combined with Lost, the Outtakes, and HoW, to make it a clear #1 for me. They’re trying a lot of new things right now and it sounds unlike anything they’ve released.

I’ll echo @robtidwell in that the new Lotus album is one of the best releases on Psychopathic ever. Everyone came correct on that album.

And I’m still listening to Killjoy. The energy alone keeps it in heavy rotation for me … especially at the gym.

Between all the tours, this year’s Juggalo Day, the hype surrounding the Gathering, the Falling Apart video, Dark Carnival games, and J’s new found acceptance that physical cd sales do not match the actual success of the album this is exactly where I want them to be.

@drfreshness nailed it with the positivity they seem to have right. They’re having fun.

I don’t listen to Killjoy, choruses sucked, verses were boring and beats were bland/boring.

I wish they went with a 90’s approach on music for something. Wether it was an icp album, solo, or even a lotus album. I’d be happy as fuck. Just one album with a 90’s approach is all i’m asking. When you wonder what i’m saying about “90s approach” I mean taking everything they used from riddlebox, milenko, ajb and all that.

I was listening to lotus yesterday, such a dope ass album with amazing production.

they did that for an entire decade.  just listen to those albums again, theyre still around.

its 2016, dog.

im sure you knew that, but you seem to be stuck in this ‘i wish shit was the way it was twenty years ago’ kick, and it aint gonna happen.  thats not how time works.

and for the record, the is no formal musical method analogous to ‘the 90s approach’, so even if they did try to do an album specifically to appease you, it still wouldnt work.  it would be them guessin at what you are guessin at, as opposed to relying on their creativity and experience in the biz [which dwarfs yours].

seriously, if you dislike the styles of music bein put out today, you got exactly three options…

1]  bump the old shit, optionally while griping like a curmudgeon

2]  record your own music, which will be so much better

3]  suffer, again with the option of griping
