For the their best music was with mec. Yeah true. But some of their worst music has been with mec. Mdp was with mec and I that is my least favorite. Who cares as long as it’s good
Agree completely. I think a lot of people ignore the bad stuff MEC has done with them. For the most part he’s done good work but some of it is really fucking bad. I’m okay with Otis or anyone else working with them as long as whoever it is is willing to highlight ICP’s strong points instead of push them into unknown territory. Which was what MDP was to me. I don’t mind ICP experimenting (J’s rock project or whatever, from back in the day was the shit. As was “Take it”, which wasn’t ICP’s usual style) just not on a Jokers Card.

I’m excited, but also a little worried about “The Missing Link” @this point. There is alot of encouraging news making it seem like this album might actually be one of their best in quite some time, but it could also jump the shark awfully quick. I’m still among the crowd w/high expectations for TML, but here are my concerns.
1)The religious connotations could push this album over the edge of “preachy/corny” icp. Hopefully, they take a approach of a middle ground, questioning things and speaking from an open-minded standpoint. But knowing icp, they could take the approach of “god=good, atheist=bad” and pretty much just spend the whole album making it like those w/o religious beliefs are lacking in some way and missing out on the wonders of this mythical being. Knowing J, this could very well be the approach he takes & it will make for a painful listening experience that will potentially turn off alot of core fans (myself included). I’m all for ones own beliefs & dont mind their religious shit creeping in here&there, but a whole album of that shit mixed w/ a close-minded, childish view of atheism?…thats when i see myself out.
2)No mike e. clark. Alot of fans seem to think its great that mike isnt involved in TML…I am not one of them. All of icp’s best material has been w/mike. Their music just hits on a different level when mike is involved. If you look back @their career, whenever he has gone away his absence has left a giant hole (imo) It single handely ruined the 6th jokers card & i am hoping this one doesn’t share that fate. The actual sound quality/mixing/mastering also always seems to suffer when mike isn’t around…the balancing & overall “crispness” is usually lacking when they’ve put out projects w/o M.E.C, i hope (& expect) them to go out of their way to make sure that isn’t the case w/this one. Getting seven to produce will surely help fill the void, if anyone can keep icp on the MEC level, he would be the guy. Unfortunately it seems he will only be doing a few tracks, rather than the entire project.
3)According to J, the guy from ax murder boys that they have been bringing around w/them everywhere is going to be heavily involved w/TML…that’s just unfortunate. There is no positive to take out of that. Hopefully it will be subtle and not as severe as J made it sound, but this dude’s presence could suck some life out of the project.

as far as the actual album itself, this posts covers my feelings perfectly. 1, 2, 3, pin.
really. thank you @billburr, you have described my own feelings at least as well as i wouldve. the entire post.
now get outta my head, you really arent supposed to be there.
expanding on #1: if icp went back to full-on hardcore redneck bashing, how many of you southern types would stick around…?
there was a time when there were essentially no ‘hick’ juggalos [not a perjorative use of the term, just a shorthand]. icp eased way back on that [realizing that they were trashing some of their own fans, i assume], and now theres as many hick ninjas as non-hick ninjas. [some juggalos ive known have had big problems with this. i dont, i just think its funny sometimes. see boondox.]
if they were directly runnin you down for your lifestyle like that, it would understandably suck, wouldnt it? now, imagine if a new herd of juggalos got 100% behind that, and ran wild. you wouldnt even wanna be around em.
this is not very different.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

Reverend Lovejoy: Homer, I’d like you to remember Matthew 7:26. “The foolish man who built his house upon the sand.”
Homer: [pointing a finger] And you remember
[thinks]
Homer: Matthew… 21:17.
Reverend Lovejoy: [confused] “And he left them and went out of the city, into Bethany, and he lodged there?”
Homer: Yeah. Think about it.

I never understood the hate for The Tempest. It sounded like a part three to Bizzar/Bizarr to me. At the very least it was a hell of a lot better than The Calm.
Well maybe I don’t understand the hate for The Calm. I love that album. Favorite tracks from that, probably Like It Like That, We’ll Be Alright, and Crop Circles.
And I’m really excited for Lost to come out. Just as I was with The Death Pop, bought that and listened to it the day it came out, and I loved it. Plan on doing the same with this album.

That was always the way I looked at it. I feel like when MEC came back the tempest is the closest i’ve heard icp being back to “icp”. not all songs were sounding like it but it was pretty close. I guess i was one of the few but I thought the 6th was perfect, mixing was done great. But I do agree everything seems polished with MEC mixing it. I don’t wanna hear another old school jokers card or even anything close to it. I just want something new that doesn’t have shitty beats like mec has been making. Even J’s solo album that MEC produced years ago sucked. Psy hasn’t really been the same since he’s been back I just think those guys are on a different level. I remember when the 6th came out I was pissed cuz MEC didn’t touch it but now that I look back i’m so happy he didn’t. If you listened to the remixes he did I really didnt think there was anything to em to be honest. Mike has always been known for his catchy melodys or funky drums and I just don’t hear it anymore.
I really hope not only for the records sake but for ICP’s sake this shit is dope cause then when/if mec does decide to come back ICP can be like look, fucking come with it these guys gave us dope shit. I’m honestly curious to hear what seven’s gonna do on the found record more than the Lost record.

Man Idk why so many ninja’s are hating the fact that Otis is producing a lot of tracks on TML..I fuckin love it! That dude is nice n can make some bangers. I’m not gonna lie I used to not like AMB but the past year or 2 I’m becoming a fan. Mainly of Otis. I’m also really pumped for Seven on it. I just can’t wait to hear it I think it’ll be dope. But then again I’m one of the few who actually really like The MDP lol and also House of Wax was really good so I jus feel their on a roll right now. Less than 2 months!

If Otis (the name Young Wicked pinpoints exactly what my problem with AMB is. Unoriginal to the point of parody. Oh, so you’re Juggalo-rappers? What’s that? You say that you KILL HATERS WITH AN AXE? AND you fuck bitches while smoking weed and drinking Faygo? Wow, sign me up my dear boys, I’ve certainly never heard that before!) stays out of the booth, I think it’ll work. As far as his rapping goes, the dude has made huge improvements since Unforgiven Forest but the direction he’s going, rap wise, just doesn’t work with ICP. As far as his beats go, I’m all in. They could definitely make ICP sound like the pissed off wicked clowns that I think they want to be again.
Kuma could be okay. Nothing he’s done has really blew me away but nothing has really been cringe worthy either.
I really don’t like Mike P. At all. The dude overshadows ICP every single time he’s working with them and completely ruined Shangri-La for me. Chances are I won’t like what he does on these albums either but whatever. It seems like I’m in the minority on that one so it doesn’t matter.
I can’t fucking wait to hear what Seven does with them. That dude has been blowing up the past couple of years and every time I hear what he’s doing it’s incredibly specific to the artist and the project so I trust that there’ll be actual collaboration with them.
Side note: How long till Bonez Dubb (I don’t know, kid. That name is kind of bori-YOU SPELL IT WITH A “Z”?!? HUZZAH!) is gone? I mean, aside from knowing how to spell his name on every goddamned verse he’s ever done, what does he offer exactly?

otis is shit ..that’s why so much hate. rapping fast doesn’t make someone good. his character and style are extremely lame. and the sound of his voice is so fuckin annoying. I don’t like his beats either.that’s an accurate review of otis
For you and quite a few others sure, but there are plenty more out there with my opinion too, no need to get so testy

Fair enough, maybe I don’t get so out off by how “generic” they are since ive only been on the scene since MDP so I havent had a chance to have that shit grow so old on me I role my eyes at it. That and their sound might just appeal to me more cus I’m younger. We’ve had this convo numerous times up on FLH doe
