as for weed, it was du pont with the synthetic fibre, and william henry hurst with his timber operation that were the downfall of marijuana and hemp more so than the oil companies.

when he says "they dont pay taxes"

i say yes they do, and proove it with you know, facts

you say "its only 13%"

well i never said a word about percentages, I was speaking of real dollars. Percentages dont matter as much as total tax $ as far as I am concerned.

long story short, yes he was wrong saying these companies "pay no taxes" or that he "pays more than them" because its simply not true unless hes a billionaire and hes holding out that is

And DuPont has holdings in what, exactly?  Lol...

Compared to what most people and small businesses pay, percentage wise, Apple and other companies are getting off lightly. "Percentages don't matter as much as total tax dollars as far as I am concerned."  Really?  So someone barely scraping by should be held to pay a higher percentage than a company that could support an entire state if it wanted to?  I'm not for socialism and redistributing the wealth, but that's kinda hilarious to hear a "ganjadude" say.  And I believe his point was that Warren Buffett and the people that benefit from the tax codes get to pay very little of their money towards taxes while the middle class takes it without lube or so much as a reach around.

I'm the neck cutta and I'm one block away...

they are a chemicals company so i guess i see your point, but if we want to be even more technical, du pont got bought out last year and as a company doesnt exist any longer.

frankly i want to see the corp tax gone, the income tax gone, i want to see nothing but a sales tax, it would be the most fair tax being that no one can excape it, and it cant be abused. use more products? pay more taxes, dont use many products? pay less in taxes.

we need to cut spending, we bring in more than enough money, we have a spending problem.

i am just tired of people trying to argue that XX doesnt pay any taxes when they obviously do, i dont know what happened, but instead of growing up wanting to be rich, kids these days are being taught to hate the rich. its disgusting

They also had interests in the automotive industry.

I agree with the part in bold.

Kids are brought up to hate the middle class; ie, the people who tried to make themselves into something rather than the people that were handed everything.  Meanwhile, they worship the Hollyweird stars whom haven't made a decent film in years, the non-British Queen of England, and other people of power.

if an american is bringin their kids up to hate anything, theyre fuckin it up.

i feel that you should let your kids decide what they love or hate on their own.  as much as is practical.  tends to make for a more tolerant [and tolerable] adult.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

Anyone else think it's funny that the NFL (National Football League) is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization?

despite being a massive fan of the nfl...  yeah, its more than a little fucked up.  theyre basicly grandfathered into a perfect capital-building situation, and as long as they dance around the legislation language well enough, they can keep it going forever.

i wouldnt have a big problem with that, if it wasnt limited to 'professional football leagues' only.

the silver lining, for fans like myself, anyway, is that it makes it damn near impossible to liquidate the nfl.  even the individual franchises are effectively immortal.

We are being raised to hate the rich until we become rich and when we are rich we hate the poor.

Its like a never ending cycle of scape goating.

Rich people are not all lazy fucks who were handed every thing. Alot of them worked their asses off to get rich.

Poor people are not all lazy fucks who are not willing to work either. Alot of them work their asses off just to get by.

But of I learned anything about politics its that people are selfish and they rarely think of anything other than them selves. That is politics. What do I get?

I don't hate the rich.  I just don't see why no matter how hard I work, a rich family gets richer.  Like, they did the work, got rich.  Now I'm doing work, and they're getting rich, and I'm just here like a dumbass.  Like I said, had to start my own company to get paid what I'm worth.

I was under the impression that you were rich actually.

I know where you are coming from znd I know you dont hate rich folk.

That "better dead than red" sentiment brought to mind a song that I think captures America in all it's hilarious glory.

Please read in a sarcastic voice as it's intended.

"I love that mountain with those four big heads
I love Velveeta slapped on Wonder Bread!
I love a commie... if'n he's good and dead, yup
I love America

I love Old Navy and homemade pie
I think them Ruskies should be sterilized
I love my chicken Kentucky Fried...
Finger Lickin' Good!

'Hey there, this is A.B. Cooper from Cooper's Carnival of Clean and Classic Cars
It's our Fourth of July ... [guns and fireworks going off] ... sale.
Here at Cooper's Carnival of Clean and Classic Cars at the corner of Collins and Commerce
I've got lot full of the finest funny looking cars money can buy at prices even-ah you can afford
So come on down and say hello to me, and granny, and bring the kids to meet my snake
I say, 'bye', Granny says, 'bye' and the snake says, 'sssssssssss'.

I love General Patton in World War II
My Pocket Fisherman and my Crazy Glue
I love that Bart and Homer too, yeah
I love America

I love the bomb, hot dogs and mustard
I love my girl, but I sure don't trust her
I love what the Indians did to Custer
I love America

I love my jeans and I love my hair
I love a real tight skirt and a real nice pair
And on the fourth of July, I love the rockets' red glare
I love America

I watch Family Guy every Sunday night
I graduated, but I ain't to bright
I love Detroit 'cause I was born to fight
I love America

I love the Tigers but I hate the Mets
I ride my Hog but I race my Vette
I gotta job, but hell... I'm still in debt
I love America

I love my bar and I love my truck
I'd do most anything to make a buck
I love a waitress who loves to... fffflirt!
...They're the best kind
I love America
Turns me on

Well, I gotta go now
I love America
Bye Bye, I tell you what though, I really do love it
You ain't gonna catch me at no mayday rally, buddy"

I did adjust certain things though to update it a bit from 1983.  And you gotta love that it has a used car lot commercial halfway through.  lol

A little bit back in topic, but this morning was the first time I've seen this reported in the UK press. Took a while to get over here and the only point they highlighted is the fact some one tweeted all about it.

Nope.  He's from Detroit and did an intro for a Joker's Card.

Didn't the UK have some riots or something a couple years back?  Did they mention anything about that or compare the two?

@metalhorrorguitarwhat metahad riots in a few cities after a bloke was shot and killed by the police. He was a "gangster" known for selling drugs and guns etc

Nothings been linked to the two, but this bloke Mark duggen had a gun and was pointing it at the police. According to the papers any way.

As soon as looting happens all arguments for protesting are lost. I'm so upset I just need to steal an iPad and new tv...doesn't cut it. 9

Yeah, I agree.  It's misguided aggression.  I think the peaceful protests that went on in Ferguson were a little more on point.
