I’d be lying if I didn’t say that before the release of Gorilla Voltage‘s, Ape-X on Majik Ninja Entertainment, I had heard of The Damn Dirty Apes or anything prior. And I’m completely ashamed to admit that.  These two guys, Clockworc and Mr. Grey whether as The Damn Dirty Apes or now as Gorilla Voltage have undeniable talent! In my opinion, this album is at the top of my list for album of the year. From the first 30 seconds of the intro track “Gorilla Voltage”, your eardrums are left tickling with excitement and instantly craving more. Ape-X takes you on a journey of sheer musical brilliance, from heavy street bangers like “Gorilla Voltage”, “Ftwfe”, “Level Up”, to heavy as hell metal/rap tracks “Stars Collide”, and “Grime”; and finally, the many epic collab tracks with everyone from Twiztid, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, G-Mo Skee, Bizarre, Kung Fu Vampire and Madchild this album does nothing short of completely kicking your ass!

While most juggalos seem to favor the collaboration tracks such as “Ninja Star” featuring Twiztid and “Monkey on My Back” featuring Blaze, I seem to favor those tracks heavy on the metal/rap vibe such as “Stars Collide” and “Grime”. Something about those two songs just gets my blood pumpin and hyped up to just get shit done or maybe jump in start a random fist fight or something.  Don’t get me wrong though, every single song on this album speaks to me in a different way and has a way of just making me lose my shit. Even the slower track “Time” that closes out the album has the potential to be an anthem for juggalos worldwide.

In the end the only thing I can really say is if you haven’t already picked up this album from TwiztidShop.com you are really missing out on one of the all-around best albums you’ll hear in years. Sure, some people will hate, that comes with the territory, but do yourself a favor and at least check the album out, make your own decisions, don’t take anyone else’s word for it, hell don’t even take my word for it. Being a Juggalo is all about the freedom to make your own decisions. Like who you like hate you hate, it’s your life so do what you want with it! Majik Ninja Entertainment is clearly on fire this year and adding Gorilla Voltage to the line-up was a genius decision on their part.

I can’t wait to see what else is in store but I’m happy to be along for the ride. Gorilla Voltage-Ape-X is 100% endorsed by yours truly and Masters of the Underground. Go peep the freshness, and if you’d like to know more about the talent behind the music be sure to check out our official Masters of the Underground YouTube for our epic interview with Gorilla Voltage as well. I’ll leave you ninjas with a Whoop Whoop! And Mad love in 2017 and beyond, hopefully I can catch yall down the road. Keep shining fam!
