DJ Mayhem is an up and coming artist to keep your eyes peeled for. He is signed to Project Boy ENT, and is coming out of Dayton Ohio. His style is diverse, and sometimes addictive which is very ironic being that his new album is called “The Fix”. He has worked with many artists such as Project Born, The Dayton Family, and Haystak. I’ve had the privilege to sit down and listen to his new album titled “The Fix” and I have to say its an album that speaks for itself. It was put together very well and took time to make.

The music on this album is alot of different styles various artists from the Ohio and Michigan area. Mixed with his own flavor to bring attention to the talent coming out of the Midwest.

Now here’s just one guys opinion…

  1. Goobie Black – “Cuzzo” – Good beat, alot of funny metaphors, i would of given it a higher rating if it wasn’t so gangbangerish. 6/10
  2. NuttinNyce – “Addicted” – Gives shout-outs to the juggalos, fast beat, slow chorus, the fast raps are great 8/10
  3. New Breed of Thieves – “All Damn Night” – Very nicely delivered, i don’t really care for songs like this but i caught myself tapping my feet. 7/10
  4. Bizzy Bone – “Cant Tell Me Nothin'” – Super hyphy beat, something you can nod your head to, put together very nicely, top notch 10/10
  5. Gem City Smoke – “For My Brotha” – It was rather confusing, its more for the hood there’s not really anything about anybody’s brother 5/10
  6. Machete- “Bust_Dat O” – This is two songs in one track, alot of common rhymes, very predictable shout-out to the city  6/10
  7. PatCap & Hollywood Vino – “I Be On Dat” – The first 10 seconds sounded like a CD skipping, not attractive to the ear, kind of a club song but it’s one of the better ones 7/10
  8. Mr. Murda & Leroy – “3 da Hard Way” – Slumper, alot of bass, funny similes, delivered in a well matter 8/10
  9. Project Born – “Put in Work” – Another shout-out to the Juggalos, serial killer type beat, slow & scary, chorus picks up fast and it makes for a great track 8/10
  10. Dagnabit – “Ignorant Persuasions” – Slow Track, heartfelt & well spoken, the cuts during the chorus made up for the slowness, definitely something you can hold your lighter up and relate to.  9/10
  11. Jason Dbks – “Out my Way” (feat. Pastor Troy) – keeps you nodding your head, a hype the crowd up type of song, would be great to see live before a show 7/10
  12. C-Money – “Home Run” – Sounds like an unedited radio friendly song, the cuts are pretty fresh, but not enough to make you wanna listen to it everytime you listen to the album, efinitely hitting the skip button 4/10
  13. Bootleg, Trill, Gem City Smoke – “Cypher” – Better than most cyphers I’ve heard, in the top twenty that’s for sure, kinda wish bootleg had a little bit more time,  7/10
  14. T Hunt – “Love it Fuck you” – very mainstream sounding song, nothing really to special to mention 4/10
  15. Shotta K, Jason Dbks, Lady 3BO, T Hunt, Machete, Wille D – “Witches” – Pretty dope drug song,  no pun intended llal, everybody had a part in the chorus which I thought was cool. 6/10
  16. Goobie Black – “Long Day” – Good song to wrap up the album, something you put on after a hard days work, kick your feet up and smoke something to. 7/10

Altogether, this album had a lot of work put into it and is well-produced. A lot of talent is shown on this record which reflects the light that is beamed on so many others to the point where you may have to listen to it and few times to understand the artists’ point of view.
