Track by track review and rating

  1. The Awakening:  Intro track.  Decent intro to the CD.  N/A
  2. White boy Go:  Song has a great beat.  The hook is decent but the vocals on the verses need to be cleaned up.  Draphus’s verse outshines Crackle Kapone.  5/10
  3. Role Model:  Very generic beat in the track.  The vocals really need to be cleaned up as they are hard to understand.  4/10
  4. Gone:  The music in this track is really well done and a nice change of pace.  The speaking hook was enough; the singing seems forced and over done.  Overall a nice track.  7/10
  5. Last Days:  Great beat for the track.  The hook is well written but needs to be cleaned up.  The verses do not have the same impact as the hook.  C-Lim’s verse saves the track.  6/10
  6. The Unfolding:  This is a short freestyle in the booth.  The vocal quality is horrible.  The length of this is more of an interlude than a track.  N/A
  7. Peace not War:  Another great beat on this CD.  The vocals on the track are ok and do not do the hook justice.  4/10
  8. Get it together:  The beat is great and Emily Ennis does the hook really well.  The verses are well put together.  7/10
  9. Take me away:  The beat is painfully generic.  The singing in the hook is very poorly executed.  The verses do nothing to improve the track as a whole.  2/10
  10. Too Real:  The intro to the track sets up the beat really well.  A very hard hitting beat gets little support from the vocals, even though they are some of the clearer on the album to this point.  5/10
  11. Gain your wealth:  The beat is supported by a great piano accompaniment.  The hook once again should not have been sung by the artist himself, very poorly done.  5/10

Conclusion: The CD has a very short length but that is OK because listening to it was very difficult.  While the CD does have many great beats, the vocals and hooks are poorly done.  Many of the hooks and vocals sound very “Trailer made” and leave the listener wishing different choices had been made along the way.
