Who the hell would have thought we’d see an album produced or co-produced by Just Blaze with other production from Kayne West and a whole slew of Hip Hop heavyweight producers as well as powerhouse MC’s like Jay-Z and Q-Tip on a Sub Noize cd? I never thought of it till it was announced that Saigon joined the Sub Noize Rats last year. And out came one of the most longest delays of a rap album in Hip Hop’s history. We might not see Detox anytime soon.. but at least Siagon finally droped The Greatest Story Never Told!

Now to bring ya up to date with this. This album was originally supposed to come out back in 2007 on Atlantic Records. Never fucking happend. They decided to shelve it for so long. This guy was supposed to blow up around the same time 50 Cent was blowin’ up. This dude is a street veteran with some of the most intense flows ever. Just Blaze gets Saigon off Atlantic in 2009 and gets the master tape from the label. They record abunch more songs. After everyone turning them down. He turns to one guy he least expects… Daddy-X and this bad boy finally comes out! The whole stress of this bad boy can be documented on the song “Believe It” which was recorded after the split from Atlantic. The lyric “They rather me pretend to be something that I’m not/I’m the new Public Enemy, I’m different than Young Joc” puts the stamp of disapproval and lays the bottomline towards how he feels about being fucked over by a Major label.

“Bring Me Down Pt 2” is one of the most dope songs I ever heard. The video just screams hip hop and takes away the whole crap that you see in most rap today (which I’m personally Disgusted with) when they’re all going back to the late 70’s/early 80’s with keytars and weird ass pompadours with Saturday Night Fever costumes bullshit! Saigon just rock’s it Brooklyn Style and keeps it simple with hip hop on his mind. The only single that was released by Atlantic in 2007 is “Come On Baby Featuring Jay-Z and Swizz Beats”. Most people would’ve thought that Swizzy would have also did the beat but nope. Just Blaze rocked it out smoothly and Swizzy did the hook, Saigon did the first and 3rd verse, and Hov brings in the 2nd. The song is pretty good and it will bring that ass to the dance floor. My personal Fav on this song is the CD bonus track “Too Long Featuring Black Thought of The Roots”. The song is about getting out of one situation and attempt to make better of yourself. It’s one of those “sit down, listen, think, and do it” songs.

All in all this is one of the most surprising releases Suburban Noize has dropped in a long time and could put them on the map for hip hop on the real (My brother disaggrees as he’s not a fan of storytelling rap (or he calls gimmick rappers) like most of the artists from sub noize or psychopathic. But that’s for another story) and I personally hopes to hear more releases like this from the label in the future. 5 outta 5. Would be alot more but ya’ll took too long lol. Daddy X and Just Blaze if you guys are reading this: DROP A FUCKIN’ SEQUEL YO!
