(Hed) p.e. have been around for more than a decade and with every album release, their influence on the underground expands. Their most recent “Truth Rising” begins where “New World Orphans” left off, with Freedom and independence themed throughout the whole album. Suburban Noize definitely hit a home run signing these guys and (Hed) p.e. always deliver. Here’s what my first impressions on the album were.

1. Silence Is Betrayal
The Journey Begins: This intro track has different voices speaking of awareness and truth. Nothing special but an appropriate introduction for this album.
N/A

2. Truth Rising
(Hed) p.e. is the shit and this song opens up the album with a freedom fighter, in your face type of feel. It has a quick steady pace to it with some hard guitar music.

3. It’s All Over
Time for a new era, Their control is over. This song is (Hed) p.e. screamo with a melody and some great guitar riffs. This song is one of my favorites off of the album. Jahred’s voice has a great harmony to it in the chorus.
4 / 5

4. The Capitalist Conspiracy (Intro)
Here we go again with those awesome “NWO” intros.

5. No Rest For The Wicked
When this song was first released it kind of flew under my radar and I didn’t listen to it. I got the “Major Pain 2 Indiee Freedom” compilation album and couldn’t even get enough of this song, it’s actually one of the main reasons I got so pumped to preorder the album. And the music video for the track is fucking sweet. The song has great lyrics and awesome music to it, definitely the ingredients needed for a great song. Check it out.

6. This Fire
When I first listened to this song I got a strange feeling from it, almost as if I was listening to a band that was very similar to (Hed) p.e. but the more I listen to it the more I like it. It has some awesome guitar solos. It feels very “Rock”.

Extra terrestrials are real…

12. Forward Go!
Planetary evolution is something we desperately need, there’s no need for us to hate on each other for the religion we belong to or for our different skin colors. We all know the Bible is bullshit, The Koran is a lie and the Bagavad Gita did not fall from the sky. We need to move forward and this is the message this song hits. Great vocals with awesome music

19. No More Secretes
This song is a fuckin’ anthem, it has an awesome hypnotic beat to it and the lyrics are very conscious and Jahred also rants a lot in this one. The Ingredients for an awesome song. (Hed) p.e. ain’t nothing to fuck with!

21. We Are The Ones (Intro)

22. It’s Alright
Ultimately the change we want will never happen if we aren’t the front line.. This song has a great family love feel to it. Also mood swings with an easy flowing opening and then speeding up and slowing down again. Jaxon also does some really great guitar playing. I love how they chose this song to end the album.

Verdict: So this albums travels everywhere, and has great diversity. Definitely glad to add this one to my collection and I’m really excited to hear the “Skull & Bones” ep. Pick this one up at your local record store or online at www.subnoizestore.com
