It’s been 4 years since the fatal murder of D12’s Big Proof…the man who single handedly settled the beef between ICP and Eminem. And this is the long-awaited posthumous album from Proof titled “Time A Tell”.

Now for those who don’t know about Time A Tell (and mostly those who think this is like a Biggie, Eazy, or Tupac Posthumous album), this album is not a bunch of used vocals remixed. This is an album that started as a bet that Proof could not record an album in 24 hours. This is that album. Proof wrote and recorded this album in 24 hours. And the result is Time A Tell.

“I Think Of You” is the most personal and touching song you’ll ever hear me talk about on my reviews. The song is about his children and how proud he was of them. So it’s a true tearjerker. “Jus Fooling!!” is really a freestyle showing us Proof doing what he does best. “Whole New Begining” and “Iron Fist” features Iron Fist (Proof’s label) and Reel Life Recording artist Supa MC (you heard him on Esham’s The Butcher Shop Compilation with the song “On Fire” which was produced by Eminem BTW. jus a tibit for ya tit) and those songs are just straight Detroit Fire. “Block Boyz Ft C4” is some of that Detroit Gangsta Shit straight out the Eastside straight up. A song you’re gonna really enjoy is “Pill Pop” which is a direct sequel to the song “M.A.D” from his last album “Searching For Jerry Garcia”. The song is pretty much a trip on some pills and seeing images from Tupac to JJ Fad. “Time a Tell Ft.Ty Farris, Yung Famous & The Young Truth” is the bottom line to this album. It’s like a Train of hip hop MC’s just giving you some of the best flows in hip hop today. The album closes with “Detroit Luv” which is another classic anthem dedicated to the Motor City. And that’s the best way to close this album.

So in review: This album was worth the wait. And it’s not an album full of used vocals over beats. It’s a legit album that was made in 24 hours. Proof won the bet. It’s a shame that Proof never got to celebrate the victory because a month after this was recorded he was shot and killed…Rest In Peace BIG PROOF!
