Prozak has been dwelling deeper then hell in the underground for the past decade. Writing rhymes about felonious crimes, murders, and straight up sick shit. The projects he’s been involved in; PDM, Bedlam, and other solo releases this is what he, himself would like to call his “debut” solo album. Not in the sense that he wants to forget what he’s done in the past, but in the sense that he is presenting himself on a much larger scale. He’s honed his skills as a rapper, an artist, and a political visionary. The album might not be as intensely gripping; politically, as a PDM album, yet it grasps your attention with a variety of other ways.

This album, aside from being completely wig-flipping insane, features some of the best recording artists and producers on the underground scene to date. Of course when it came to production his PDM partner, Mike E. Clark lent a helping hand. Aside from that one name alone there are Strange Music veteran producers; Michael “Seven” Summers, Rob Rebeck, as well as George “Gee” Pierce, and Robert Bradley.

From one side of the studio to the part where the lyrics are laid down comes a majority of the names featured on this production. His own label mates; Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Kalhoun, and Tech N9ne. Home-state friends; Bizarre, Blaze ya Dead Homie, Insane Clown Posse, King Gordy, Twiztid, The R.O.C. Jumping along for the ride from Chi-Town, Twista. And all the way from the West Coast hails Cypress Hill.

Now that all of that is out of the way it is time to get to what you want to really read about the album, Tales of the Sick, itself. This shit is dark, melodic, malicious, mind-sparking/splitting, and everything else plus more that we’ve grown to love Prozak for. His “guerilla tactics” are still very present. The hype over this album was magnanimous and the way Strange Music and Prozak went about promoting it was genius. I can’t just call out one track and say this is why I like the album or something from track twelve is why I really dig it. No, that’s not it at all. The main reason hands down as to why I truly appreciate this album’s release is the way Prozak can paint these vivid paintings through the use of his lyrics and word craftsmanship.

If you didn’t get the pre-order seriously get out and go get this CD. This album is definitely shit to bump when you off to start your own riot, no doubt. But along with an already platinum album, in my mind, you will get a free DVD. I won’t tell you what’s on the mother-fucker except you will see an underground rapper you’ve grown accustomed to listening to or looking at. Not just Prozak, but you’ll see what I mean once you watch it. Bottom Line: This album is hotter than the Human Torch, fatter than an 800LB bitch, and off the hinge with tetanus. GET OUT AND GO GET IT!!!!
