Bass bumpin’, Brooklyn, New York natives, X Clan, are back like scoliosis. Their message of self-righteousness and self-empowerment has been set into motion once the record is spun. A major release since their last, from the early 90’s, their message sounds like that of Public Enemy, minus the Flavor Flav, replaced by lyrical abilities not yet conceived by the mainstream. Back on the microphone to rip it in half, duct tape it back together, and rip it in half yet again, the line up of The Grand Verbalizer Funkinlesson Brother J, DJ Fat Jack, Lord Sizzle, Ultra Man, and Dr. E.G.O take you on a mind-bending journey from the streets of the concrete beast to the lands where civilization all began.

The message aimed at your ear holes is not hard to pick up on, freedom fighters coming together for the purpose of the revolution. As expressed on Return From Mecca by KRS One, “Revolution cannot take place without revelation.” This is definitely something that will spark the revelation in the minds of those who hear it to join those fighting this invisible war in front of everyone for all to see. This is what the revolutionaries have been waiting for make your move!

“Slavery is back, in fact t’was never abolished; it still exists today in the judicial system. By the year 2010, a majority of African-American men, 18-40 years old, will be incarcerated in this ‘justice system'”.

A message of intolerance to the African-American public and Muslims is told in this vivid story painted as a picture behind closed eyes. In your mind, it begins to turn the gears and get you to start thinking about the past and where it is that our future will take us. Only one thing can decide what happens and that one thing is “us”. Humanity coming together can only bring about this change.

This is a compilation of twenty-two tracks that ask you one simple question without actually asking, to think for yourself and see what society has done to itself. If you feel that the time is now, then pick yourself up a copy with the quickness and heed the message given. The tracks are inspiring to get all in attendance to finally take stand and listen at what so any have been screaming for years upon years.

Featuring mega hitters on the hip-hop scene; RBX, Quazedelic, Jah Orah, Chali 2na, Hannah Barberea, Brad “Daddy” X, KRS One, Tech N9ne, and Damian Marley, Return From Mecca shows that “Ol’ School” vibes with a pure, clear cut message is all BUT forgotten.

Commanding respect on all seven continents in different dialects, X Clan is here no for all to see what needs to be seen as well as hear what needs to be heard. I know this sounds all too much like a broken record, but the message is clear! Freedom fighters unite, and come together behind the colors of the Red, Black, and Green.
