Sal-U-mother fuckin’-Tations! Like the KMK and an unleashing of flesh eating fish into a public pool I, Whipstick, am back up in that ass to bring you this, ‘Cloud Nine’ review. It seems that every time I hold my breath, spin around three times, and then pick my butt-crack; Big P, Lou Dogg, Bobby B, and them three emcee’s Richter, Loc, and X pop out with the newest of installments that is apart of the underground movement. This one has a little something extra with it though, not only do you get a tight ass disk jammed full of flava, but you get a DVD as well as a decal for those of you who got a hooptie to throw that bitch in.

This album showcases what it is that has made these past twelve years one hell of a ride to be on, had you been bumpin’ the Kings since back in the days of them Stoners Reakin’ Havoc. In the beginning you’re slapped with a song set to a “roll call” type melody, meaning that the general’s are on the front line trying to find their King Klick (subnoize ratz). Keeping it truly innovative, fresh the sound continues to pulsate rip-hop through the speakers ‘Livin’ proof’, ‘No escape’, ‘Loadies’, and ‘All or nothing’.

Then around the 4th track it switches back to the Kottonmouth hip-hop, Socal style you wish you knew how to bump right; ‘Marijuana’, ‘Litas’, ‘City 2 City ft. Tech N9ne’, ‘Ridin’ High ft. B Real’ ‘Don’t make me beg’, ‘Everyday Thang’, and ‘Darkside ft. Sen Dog’. This ninth studio album by these humble, Cali boys blends punk rock and hip-hop together more than any other, I think, they’ve previously put out.

Then they flip the script on us all with sounds that gather your thoughts into one collective movement from songs like: ‘Think for yourself ft. I.C.P.’, ‘One day’, ‘Riddled’, ‘It ain’t easy’, ‘Proud to be a stoner’, and ‘Free willy’ a tribute to a fallen patriot incarcerated for the bullshit rule that using the herb to forget and have fun is illegal.

The CD’s sound is very spazmatic and jumpy, but without that variation of the chaos theory where would the Kottonmouth Kings be today? Nowhere, because if they’ve learned one thing over the years about their fans it’s how to keep them happy. Constant touring, CD releases, DVD pressings, and any other thing they can do to get you up and out they’ll do it.

My suggestion, get this CD if you like KMK for their unique style, own music, and whatnot. If for some gay reason you find yourself ‘hating’, get that dick out of your mouth, put your bowl of bitch flakes down, and jump into oncoming traffic because it’ll be easier that way.
