Juggalos! Juggalettes! And SicFux alike, it’s your boy BeZerk, and I’m back in the album review section to bring you my second album review, and boy do I got something special for you all out there. So get ready to kick back, and hear one of the best independent releases this year.

Now juggalos and SicFux, on this new SicFux album, it has 19 tracks of pure sickness which also features artists like Playboy the Beast, Joey Oz (Oz), Andy Milonakis, GrewSum, Dizzy Wright, Riff Raff, Jelly Roll, and a few more. Each track is brilliantly mastered, and Dopesic did NOT disappoint the SicFux with this release, I can guarantee you that. If you don’t like it, well sir or miss, I hope you shit razor blades for the rest of your life.

I think of each of the three main members of Dopesic (Jimmy Donn, Killa Capone, and KiNGPiN), the member that stood out the most on this album to me was Killa Capone. I think Killa Capone is still heavily underestimated in the underground, but I do believe he’s finally getting the recognition he deserves. Killa can flow and chop it up almost better than some of the greatest, and he brings some of the darkest and most sinister lyrics that may haunt the crazy psycho killers dreams.

Jimmy Donn’s verses in this album also really stand out. Jimmy is really good at using music to get people to think. I think on this album, he in no way let’s any of the SicFux down.  Whether Jimmy is making people think, or stalking them the shadows; Jimmy’s lyrical finesse apparently knows no bounds.  I think SicFux and juggalos alike will really identify with his side of things. If you never heard of Jimmy Donn before… Welcome to the Haunted Life.

And my brother from another mother, KiNGPiN. I think what really makes KP stand out from damn near any artist is his metaphors and some of his punchlines. Take in the track No Sunshine where he goes, “Sometimes I sit on November 9th. With a pile of vicodin and an RC plane that I can fly. Fly it over the boarders of Afghanistan and crash it into their biggest twin caves. I’m the man…” In that, November 9th is September 11th backwards (11-9 is November 9th. 9-11 is September 11th), which caught my attention. I don’t think any other artist could have came up with something like that, which is so subtle at the same time. I don’t know. I thought that was cool and clever. Maybe you didn’t, but I really don’t give a flying fuck what you have to say. KiNGPiN uses lyrical wit throughout the whole album, adding that last final leg to make Dopesic one of the best independent groups in the underground.

Well juggalos, I think it’s time to break this album down track by track. If you click the link, it will bring you directly to the bandcamp, and you can listen to the track right there (you can also purchase the album or track by clicking on them). Juggalos, this is not one of the albums you are going to want to ever pass up on. So here we go…

Track 01: If I Were the Devil

This is an intro track that is out of this world. I don’t know where the sample is from, but it’s ungodly. The man basically goes through things he would do if he was the devil sighting that he’s own most of the world, encourage destructive lawless behavior, be selfish and greedy, and so forth. My very favorite part is when the guy goes, “…in other words, if I were the devil, I’d just keep on doing what he is doing.” The whole sample is set to a very dark and eery beat that will catch your attention and hypnotize you. This isn’t even a track, and it’s one of my favorite things on the CD. By the end of the track, it made me wonder… What if I were the Devil?

*Edit: I asked Jimmy who it was and he said it was Paul Harvey.*

Track 02: Body in the Trunk 2 featuring King Sandman and GrewSum

This track is a remake of one of my favorite Dopesic tracks. In this remake, it features a whole new beat and two more artists featured on it. Not only does it include that, it has all new verses from Killa, Jimmy, and KP. It is also nearly 9 minutes long, and I am not shitting you. By the end of it, it doesn’t feel like 9 minutes, or it sure as hell doesn’t feel like you wasted 9 minutes of your life listening to it. I absolutely love the beat to it. There are a lot of eerie bells and chimes in the background that kind of help add that haunting tone. The melody just kind of creeps through out the whole track, while still pounds at the same time. The hook is the same, just kind of different. The way they remade the hook fits perfectly with the rest of the track. King Sandman brings some good shit to the track and shows that he was a good pick for a feature on this track, but GrewSum really stands out on this whole track. Grew is already a murder on the mic, but he literally slaughtered this track with his grewsum style. He probably should have been on the original track. That would have been dope. Anyways though, I promise you juggalos and SicFux, you’re REALLY going to enjoy this track.

Track 03: SF4L

This track is the SicFux anthem for sure. With another kind of creeper beat (I really like the dark beats that are almost ominous), this is over 3 minutes of SicFuxness. This track should warn all haters to stay very far away from our crazy clique, while bringing a bunch of sic flows that’ll whip kick you in your painted up face. This is one of those track that I am going to imagine you’re going to want to hear at a show, where there is all sorts of SicFux love in the atmosphere. Just remember though… keep that shit SICFUX 4 LIFE!

Track 04: Loyality featuring Lazy J*

If you would notice, I highlighted this song as one of my favorites off the album. One listen to it and you will see why. I know Lazy J has been with the SicFux fam for a while, but this is seriously the first track I ever heard him on, and he fucking killed his verse like a true SicFux, and staying true to the name of the track. The last track maybe the SicFux anthem, but this should be the SicFux hymn if there ever was such a thing (don’t get cult happy ‘Fux lol). As for which artist stood out the most, I think it was Lazy J hands down. All the artists literally brought like the perfect combination of lyrical talent to make this such an awesome track, but I think Lazy J’s verse really stays true to the tone and theme of the overall track. KP’s first few bars though are my favorite lyrics out of the whole track. The beat on this track can be described in one word… epic. Literally, if you take the second definition defined by Merriam and Webster, it says “extending beyond the usual or ordinary especially in size or scope.” I think the awesome guitar riffs are one of a kind in the beginning. The piano melody is SicAsFux. This beat is off the hook. From the lyrics to the beat, it’s going to keep your interest, and I would hope that you’d agree that this is one of the best tracks on the album. It really stands out amongst other tracks that are so awesome in and of themselves. You might want to put this one on repeat a few times. I sure as hell did.

Track 05: Burn It Down

So the first couple tracks that introduce you to the album were on the darker side (a place where I know Jimmy Donn has been known to reside), then the next few tracks were kind of anthemy and geared towards we SicFux, this track is the first track on the album to show a deep side. It starts with Jimmy Donn who is talking about his lost parents. If you didn’t know, Jimmy has lost both of his parents and has even survived cancer. So to hear some of the more personal struggles he’s suffered from is kind of nice. It allows people to be able to relate if they have struggled in the same way. KiNGPiN starts his verse with about as dark as you can get it, but then builds it into a very extremely motivational verse. Killa not only brings a very close and deep verse, but his flow on it is almost like it’s own instrument, which in my opinion is how all rap and hip hop should be (where your flow can entwine itself with the beat you are using). The beat on this track is wonderful. I think it’s super deep which fits with the tone. The ironic part is that the title sounds way different then the overall theme, but if you listen to the hook, it all makes sense. I am quite sure it’s Lil C on the hook too, and she hits the nail right on the head. Lil C always does good on SicFux tracks, but I really think this is one of her better ones. As for which artist stood out the most on this track, I would have to say Jimmy Donn. Meanwhile, while Killa Capone’s flow really makes him stand out, I think it’s Jimmy’s verse that is really personal so it fits the overall theme of the track.

Track 06: Old School featuring Lazy J and ACE

This track stays true to the name in every sense of the title. It has an old school laid back beat, with some lyrical flows that remind me of vintage 90’s hip hop before the Bling Bling era destroyed it. I think Killa Capone really stood out the most on this track from the lyrical content and his flow, he stands out the most. ACE really killed his verse, and so did Lazy J, both proving that they were good editions to have on the track. The beat is really dope and old school. KP would like everyone to know that his change in tone is actually a Biggie reference, siting “Old school I started off mimicking biggie and also the whole album I sound different because its not really a dark n gory Dopesic album plus I’m gearing people slowly toward what my voice will be on my solo album… KiNGPiN: BRiNGiN the 90’s Back.” KiNGPiN really chops up his verse too like a champ.

Track 07: Put It In The Air featuring Riff Raff and Jelly Roll

This track has a really cool beat to it. It’s about money and stuff like that, so it doesn’t appeal to me as much, but I do like Jelly Roll’s feature on this track. I’m still getting used to this whole Riff Raff dude. Not really my style, but for a white guy with an image complex, the dude can flow, and you can’t deny him that. When he first busted on the scene, I wondered why people liked him until I heard a track from him. He may do a style of rap I’m not fond of, but I must admit the dude’s got some bars.  So with that being said, I think Riff Raff stood out the most. His flow on this track is probably what stood out the most. To switch it up with tones keeps him from sounding monotonous which a lot of artists, especially in the mainstream, do. I think you guys will like this track though. Definitely worth tuning into.

Track 08: They Don’t Know featuring Dizzy Wright

When this song dropped on YouTube, I actually like fell in love with it. The beat on this track is simply off the hook. I think it was the beat that may have sold this track even lol. Dizzy Wright starts it off with a devastating dope flow, so right when you tune in, the track whip kicks you in face with dopesicness. Jimmy follows up with his more upbeat flows reminding those who dislike who the prince of the wicked shit is. Killa Capone, though using AutoTune for a couple bars, defines what this beat is. He could have done this whole track himself, and it would have sounded awesome lol. Then the track comes to an end, then you’re kind of like damn. Then you hit repeat.

Track 09: Not the Time

Ten tracks from the end, you are pretty much half way through the album, and have been given 9 tracks of pure brilliance. From awesome features, to sick lyrics and dope beats, this album so far hasn’t disappointed me at least. This track goes back to a deeper and darker level. Jimmy delivers a personal verse that’s also almost motivational. Killa’s verse is out of this world. Seriously, he sounds like he’s an alien raining down on your with his artillery from another galaxy. Between the two of them, Killa knocked this one clear out of the ball park.

Track 10: Off That featuring GrewSum, Infamous, Lazy J, Conway Pity, and Playboy the Beast

Holy balls juggalos, this track is going to kick you in the fucking face with dopeness. Not only does it feature a bunch of awesome artists, but shit, this lyrically from all the artists is like a constant injection of lyrical heroin. This track is seven and a half minutes of brilliance. If the layout would let me choose another favorite track off the album, it’d have to be this. To break this down by artist’s verse would take me a whole article in and of itself, but if there is one artist that stood out the most, it was Playboy the Beast. The thing about Playboy is no matter what track I tune into of his, he always has superior flows. The dude is a lyrical genius that can tear up damn near any beat better than the best. Not trying to ball ride juggalos, but if there is one underrated artists out there that should be heard and listened to more, it’s Playboy the Beast. I would also like to say Conway Pity had a really dope verse, and Infamous once again didn’t disappoint me. I realllllly enjoyed his verse in Heath Ledger, but that’s later in this bitch, so we’ll get to that then. You guys absolutely cannot skip this track without kicking yourself in the ass.

Track 11: Damn Beautiful*

If you guys noticed, this is the other track I got to pick for my favorite on the album. This song I think stands out the most. The lyrical content and message in this track is deep and touched me in ways that didn’t tickle my weiner. Killa Capone’s verse brings his deeper side out, then it’s followed by a chorus sang by him and his new wife Lil C. The hook is damn beautiful in and of itself if I may say, and I give mad compliments to the newly weds on it. They’re hook really helped set this track apart from the rest of the tracks. KiNGPiN’s verse is my favorite on the track. Some of the things he says about not being comfortable with his alias reminds me and my own image complex regarding my own BeZerk image. Then he also says, “…but upon a blue moon, I did drop and hit the ground. The crazy thing is the SicFux picked me up when I was down. Jimmy and Killa could have kicked me, but they dusted off my crown, gave it back to me and told me to go to town…” which reminds me of the times where I was down and the SicFux, Low Lifes, juggalos, and just fans and friends in general picked me up and told me to keep going. Jimmy then follows up with an equally deep verse in which stands out almost as much as KiNGPiN’s does. Jimmy’s views on his mentality reminds me of my own sometimes. I think juggalos, SicFux, or anyone in general will REALLY FUCKING LOVE this track. This is one you have to listen to and cannot miss.

Track 12: Winter in Paris featuring Joey Oz

Another deep track, Jimmy starts his verse by talking about imagine being Michael Jackson’s kid. Having all the media and tabloids out to catch a picture of you and your dad, while paparazzi destroys the targets they chase.  Even though we, the average person, see all the glamor of the lime light, we almost refuse to recognize all the sacrifices the person in the spotlight has lost. Joey Oz, aka Oz to the SicFux, also gives you some food for thought about the harsh realities of things like being bullied, watched by the media, etc. The tone of the track is very deep, and the beat is very pretty. Jimmy’s third verse definitely stands out the most out. It reminds us of how much we’ve lost ourselves in this digital age. This is one of those deeper tracks you guys should check and contemplate on.

Track 13: Heath Ledger featuring Infamous

This track has been my favorite KiNGPiN track and was almost my fate. If you check JewTube, I am the one who had brought this to YouTube. Why? Because I related to this track so much. This song also I can relate to due to my own chemical dependencies and issues Infamous’s verse stands out to me the most because I relate to taking as ass ton of pills and not telling anybody and just sitting back and waiting. . Infamous brings a really deep verse that also has like the perfect flow to it. The lyrical content behind it is off the hook, and like I said, very deep and personal to me. KiNGPiN follows up with an equally deep verse. This song is the song I snorted heroin to the first time. The hook defines my feelings towards drugs and my drugs of choice. Juggalos, if you suffer with an addiction, this song is the song for you. I would have added this as my favorites off the album, but the format only allows two. Let’s just hope I won’t be found face down in a hotel room.

Track 14: Reign Over Me

Five tracks from the end, this track starts out with a super sick guitar riff, then KiNGPiN busts in with a real intro to a track. With another personal and deep track, KP once again builds this track to be motivational by the end using his own personal struggle from the bottom and his raise to the top. Jimmy’s verse is some good old classic story telling rhyme, in which I think really makes his verse stand out. Reminds me almost of myself, minus the fact the main character in Jimmy’s verse is a girl lol. The beat on this almost reminded me of Nickleback, in which their music is probably the only thing good about them lol. The beat is really good, and one of my favorite on the album. The hook is really deep, and I think it goes well with the overall tone of the track.

Track 15: Worst Day featuring Andy Milonakis and GrewSum

Yes, that’s right juggalos. This does feature a verse from none other than SicDux Ent. Andy Milonakis. Andy is awesome and shit, and his verse is actually quite clever, but there is only one negative thing I can say. Andy, I grew up watching you in shit, and I think it’s awesome you’re fucking around with the SicFux, but damn, your voice is not that of a serious rapper lol. Other than that, he has some good rhymes that even make you laugh some of the times.  GrewSum is actually featured in the track too, and does what he does best, and that’s chop up a track. He’s got a dope ass hook. Jimmy comes in with a wicked style rap verse that’s almost the opposite to Andy’s verse. GrewSum finally kicks in with his verse in which I think stands out the most out of all three of them. GrewSum is a super talented artist and he definitely kills in this track.

Track 16: S.O.G.

This track is the first track on the album to use electronic dubstep for the instrumental. It’s good dubstep though. Dark with pounding bass and all the alien robot noises that makes electronic music great. This is pretty much a verse from Jimmy about some obsessive lust for him or something. It’s the shortest track on the album, but has one of the coolest instrumentals.

[Kill The President Original]

Track 17: Kill the President featuring Playboy the Beast and Crossworm

Well juggalos, you might have caught this track before. My homie Nathan made a sick video on YouTube to it. The only difference from this version is that it features Crossworm, and I can tell Playboy redid his verse with the same lyrics. He adds more attitude then he had in the original that just featured him and Jimmy. Playboy’s verses on this have always been my favorite, and I really always have liked this track. I like how the artist confront the bullshit the government has been getting away, and it’s nice to see a track with a political impact. This was the first time I ever heard of this Crossworm guy, but damn, does he really bring a new element to the track. His verse actually stands out the most in this version. Definitely was the right person to add on to this track. The beat in this track has always been awesome and almost hypnotic. This I think will be a lot of people’s favorite track on the album, or at least one of them.

Track 18: No Sunshine

This track is another track you might have been able to see and hear before the release. A sic remake to Bill Wither’s No Sunshine, this track brings a dark and eery beat that’s almost deep. Lil C is also on the hook, and she literally kills it. You couldn’t have asked for a better performance. Jimmy starts it off, and I always have liked his verse, quoting it several times in different parts. KiNGPiN also does a really good job in this track with his use of metaphors. He adds a literary element to his rhymes which helps make it stand out. I think though Jimmy’s verse is which stands out the most. This will be one of those tracks that will be on “The Best of The SicFux” box collector when we’re all senior citizens.

Track 19: Torn Apart

Well juggalos and SicFux, we have finally come to a conclusion of one of the best independent releases of the year, and what a better way to end it then to end it with some Killa Capone. This track, which is all Killa, has a creeper eery beat that kind of draws you in and slowly hypnotizes you. The hook has always given me motivation, and this song has always been one of my favorite Killa Capone tracks since its release. I think the hook really is what stood out the most in the track, though Killa’s verses were superb. Overall, an excellent track to end such a great album with.

Well juggalos, I think that just about concludes this review a damn near 4000 words and 12 hours later. I would really hope you guys buy this album, and I know you guys would dig it or I wouldn’t be writing this for you. So I hope you enjoyed the lengthy review and were able to check out everything like you should have. So until next time juggalos and SicFux… SF4L and enjoy…

So please tell me that on Old School that KiNGPIN didn’t sound like himself for the first couple of lines to someone else hahah. I was confused when I first heard it, but anyway, this is for the most part, an amazing album. I say “for the most part” because there are a couple tracks I can’t stand listening to (Reign Over Me & Winter In Paris) It’s not that they arn’t good tracks, but I just can’t hook myself onto them. My favorite tracks are Old School, They Don’t Know(Hated this track when it was first released, but grew to love it), and Damn Beautiful. SF4L.

I thought KP didn’t sound like himself in a few tracks. You would literally have to listen to them twice or more to tell it was him. I was not too big for Winter In Paris, but I really liked Reign Over Me. Thank you for actually participating and commenting. It’s much appreciated Austin.
