Literally just walked out of the theatre. THE MOVIE WAS SO FREAKING GOOD. Solid 8/10. Will buy on Blu-ray.

It wasn't a remake; it was BARELY a reboot. They really did their own thing with it. Most of the nostalgic cameos were really tasteful; Sigourney Weaver's was my favorite, and the fact they tied to to Holtzmann was extra satisfying to me. (Holtzmann was my fave, and Sigourney Weaver is bae.)

A couple of the jokes did fall flat, but nthey can't all be winners. I can only think of like two that didn't do it for me. The Slimer cameo felt a little gratuitous at first, but by the end I had warmed up to it. The Staypuft cameo was PERFECT. Not too much. The final big bad ghost was a bit schmaltz-y, but then again so was Staypuft, and it was a nice homage.

Honestly? I thought it was better than the original Ghostbusters. The plot was a lot more cohesive. They paid homage to the original but still did their own thing, and it worked out really well. I'd welcome a sequel.

Now, if you'll excuse me a moment, I need to vomit praises:

UGHHHHH SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD YAAAAASSSSS.

My nearest theater wasn't playing it, so I've yet to see it. Still want to though. I haven't heard anyone that watched say it was complete shit (I don't think I have, anyway) so you know, I'm assuming I'll enjoy it.

I'm really confident your sister is going to like it. I'm also willing to bet Holtzmann will be her fave, too. I think her eccentricity will speak to the little Emoaboo.

I've seen it three times. The second being at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood solely for the giveaway collectables and a Kate McKinnon in 3-D experience. I think Sony did a fantastic job; it was a lot funnier than I anticipated. After the queef joke, I had no idea what to expect.

Casting was good. The special effects were good. The plot and the jokes fell flat which was surprising considering that they cast some good people in the roles. If I were asked by a friend if I would recommend it, I would tell them to save their money and just pirate it. Not worth a movie ticket.

Just my opinion.

Oh man, the queef joke threw me. I think thay was the moment I knew I was in for a ride.

If it's still showing in town the next time I get paid, I'm totes gonna go see it again. It was so satisfying. When Erin jumped in after Abby I had ALL the fucking feels.

NGL I could ship me some Holtzmann x Gorin.

I missed the post-credits scene, though. :( I made it through most of the credits, but I was busting for a piss...

Maybe I don't have the right sense of humor for the movie. That joke really didn't do it for me and it went down hill in the comedy department from there. I'm gonna chalk this one up to "not my type of movie." and leave it at that since some people did seem to like it.

There were a couple of times where the jokes didn't do it for me, but the only real 'groaner' for me was "The power of Patty compels you!" I really thought they should have ended on the first slap; maybe follow with a non-physical joke. But then, I'm not a fan of slapstick.

No need to cross that out. lol I love me some Sigourney. If they decide to make a sequel, and I hope they do, I'd like them to keep the awkward sexual tension between Holtzmann and Gilbert.

There were quite a few jokes and lines that fell flat or came off way too corny. I can see a lot of folks turned off by it.

I can't speak for everyone, just myself, but I think most of the jokes I found flat were the ones geared more towards the kids -- it's a family film, so it had to be a mixed bag.

(The soup gags killed me, tho.)

I don't expect everyone else to like it, but I myself really did. Honestly, I'm kind of a contrary person, and I get easily burnt out on shit that's overhyped, so it suits me fine if not everyone loves it, as long as enough folks do to justify the sequel.

I've seen four movies in the theatre this week (Jason Bourne, Purge: Election Year, Lights Out, and Ghostbusters) and I deffo enjoyed Ghostbusters the most.

You know what? I didn't go see it, just like I said I wouldn't. Somebody buy me a cookie. Who gives a shit?  You really think any of this will matter in a few years? Last night the government just sent $400 million to Iran. While we're bitching about Ghostbusters having vaginas now and Blahzay Roze only getting signed to Psy because she fucked Violent J, some of the shadiest shit is going down right now! But f-f-f-fuck it maaaan.

Elite society is filing into their vaults hidden deep in the mountains and preparing for the nuclear winter that is about to happen. "It's a big club, and you ain't in it"- George Carlin. Except for Lucem. He's in it. Because he's a d-d-d-douche. f-u

Of course you are. Throw your diamond up, Lucem, throw your diamond up. Just curious, are those vaults nice and cozy?

I really liked that Erin Gilbert's attraction to Kevin was unrequited and played strictly for laughs. I get tired of the "romance, just because" trope.

I'd be willing to make an exception for Holtzmann & Gorin tho.

I might write fan fiction for this movie.

Only the Ghostbusters + Kevin.

Also a theatrical poster would be nice. The one with all four of them, and The tagline "Answer the call."
