Clearly I'm late to the party, but I think the movie looks hillarious.

I hope it runs into August, so that I can go see it in theatres.

Edit: I also have a massive boner for Beetlejuice 2. Tim Burton hasn't made a live-actual movie worth pissing on since the original, though, so I'm distrustful.

Beetlejuice is a natural treasure. It wouldn't work without at least 75% of the original parts. You'll need Keaton, Ryder, perverted ass Jeffrey Jones, Burton, and everyone else.. Otho is deceased, I believe.. Elfman musical score..... it would be so fucking weird and wrong to try this project without the original crew.

I worry about it like I worry about The Dark Tower film. But it seems to be working well.

I'll settle for Keaton, Ryder, and maybe Burton, if he gets a handler. That man needs to be protected from his own bad decisions.

(Otho's actor is totes dead. Died relatively young, too -- 50-60 years old, I think?)

Is Elfman still alive? I can't keep up.

The fanboy nerd part of my brain has compelled me to post this video and declare that any further discussion on this topic PRECLUDES the notion that any following comment ON this thread are affirming that they have WATCHED THIS VIDEO!!!

I am not hyping the Tube channel, I am not endorsing the narrator or any shit like that BUT... this is probably the most accurate and dispassionate regurgitation of the whole fuckin' Stimpy hairball that is this POS movie...

Please to enjoy! [#funnyordie]

Nah, didn't bother watching that video. I've seen enough people argue why they don't want to see it, that don't really affect me either way. Still gonna bring my little sister to see it, 'cause she wants to, and I'll decide for myself if I like the movie after I've seen it.

Yeah, I opted out of the video, too. I don't need someone else to tell me whether or not I should like a movie, and why. I'm an adult. I'm capable of critical thought.

I think it looks funny. Perhaps not cinematic gold, but neither was the original Ghostbusters.

this sentence forbids us from watchin the video.

preclusion is exclusionary.  not inclusionary.

And that is why you all fail, puppy children.

@scruffy Ha ha, derp.

Or you must not have known what I meant by "dispassionate".

If you took 2cents of trust in me and actually WATCHED the video, it is not a commentary. I can see how the banner title card makes it look like another rant vid BUT... It is actually a rather lucid and (as I said) accurate documentation of all the events of the pre-production of the movie that lead to and helped create the "controversies". It's like a something you'd show someone that "didn't know what the big deal is" all in one nicely worded and animated little video (*I thought).

IT ALSO GIVES YOU THE PLOT OF THE MOVIE. For those with a "wait and see" optimism. Why put a piece of shit in your mouth before coming to the conclusion that it's probably gonna taste like crap?

My comment about the narrator was more about not really liking his VOICE. It'd probably be WAY more dynamic if they got that fake Morgan Freeman sounding announcer guy that does those life insurance commercials.

Having said that, I merely meant to suggest that if you are not aware of ALL of the things that the video I posted does quite well of chronologically laying out, then any discourse in the future would only ever be speaking with the disadvantage of ignorance.

Having said that, I will never, EVER tell someone that tells ME, "I like ___" ; "You are wrong!". How the fuck am *I gonna tell *you yer "wrong" in your liking something?! (ok maybe if you tell me you like pedophilia 'er some shit I might say that but let's stay on topic) But there's few things more... vexxing... to me about someone with an opinion that can't explain it. Not "justify" it (and certainly not to *me) but an inability to expound on their own thoughts and processes. The same goes for the inverse; If a person refuses to know all the "facts" as to why another does NOT like something...

"I liked ___". "Why?" "...uuhhhh, I dunno. I just do".   Buuuuzzzzzz!!! Conversation over.

There's a new cropping of YouTube "reaction" videos that revolve around "older folks" showing movies to people that SOMEHOW have never seen them. Star Wars movies get the most play. It's pretty damn fascinating to hear people's experiences of movies that for the "rest of us" have become such HUGE parts of american cinema and story lore without previous bias as to plot without expectation of even LIKING them.

pps. fyi, "puppy children" is an Animaniacs reference. It's how Dr. Otto Scratchansniff would always refer to Yakko, Wakko and Dot. I've used it for many a year. yer welcome.

Actually, I believe I did watch that video the other day. Some of that shit's really fucked up, especially the shit that got slang at the AVGN 'cause he chose he wasn't interested in it.

Still gonna watch it though.

Well, Kevin Smith apparently saw it early, and he seemed to like it well enough. I trust his judgement, at least enough that I'll go in with slightly higher expectations than I would have.

Dan Aykroyd looked great, same with Chris Kattan. The DJ failed miserably in not playing "What Is Love".
