In the spirit of the thread title, this is a whole hell of a lot of speculation and I recognize that.

Necro letting shit die seems unlikely to me because it’s a win win for him. This is probably the most attention he’s received in a long time. If it goes the way of the former (ie: ICP give him a decent spot at the Gathering to show there’s no beef), he gets notoriety and a decent timeslot at a large music festival. If ICP just ignore it, he can keep talking and get notoriety from the metal crowd. Which he seems to get praise in but there’s a lot of people in that world that don’t like him because of his association with horrorcore rappers, and more significantly, Juggalos.

The only reason I say Esham is because of Juggalo day. I expect him to go down with mostly high remarks OR for it to be a mediocre performance. Either one of those would probably lead to him playing the Gathering. The only risk would be if something goes south while he’s at Juggalo Day, which seems rather unlikely. There’ll definitely be some Juggalos there that are going to dislike his set no matter what but I don’t think they’ll be enough to cause a problem. Also, his last couple records didn’t sell for shit which means he needs to do something different and if ICP are giving him the chance, why wouldn’t he take it? On their end, well, his last couple albums didn’t sell for shit so they get a well known name in horrorcore for, presumably, very cheap.

in my experience, this is exactly what to expect from any/every esham performance.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

hopefully he’s taking care of himself and trying to really live up to his potential and doing something dope instead of doing dope. I’ve never seen Esham live so I hope he’s going to the gathering.

At GOTJ 2001 Esham seemed petrified for his entire time on stage. He barely moved. Surpsringoy, though, he rapped very clean and it sounded album-worthy. But he was definitely in shock.

With all the Necro “drama”, do you think that ICP and him will reach a compromise as a way of saying there’s no problems between them and he’ll get a decent time slot or that it’ll fizzle out and he won’t play?

I think it’s quite possible that Myzery will be playing this year. If memory serves he was suppose to last year (and I assumed announce that he’s back on Psychopathic) but some shit happened and he had to abort.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Esham played as well.

Myzery performed, he was supposed to drop an album at GOTJ, that’s what didn’t happen last year.

how bout one of those animatronic horror shows from chuck e cheeses or showbiz?  couldnt cost all that much.

Showbiz Pizza has a cult following of old dudes that buy up old characters and keep them in their own homes for their sick, animatronic, furry needs.. just kidding, they just eat up the nostalgia.

ICYMI here is a 2008 documentary about Showbiz Pizza and the people who will never let it die: Rock-afire Explosion Documentary (2008)

Definitely worth checking out.

I watched the entire documentary … I shouldn’t have felt as sad as I did. lol Thank you for giving me a case of the feels over 70’s themed animatronics.

I would love to see a Myzery set. I’ll also throw Bukshot into the mix.

Onyx

Coolio

Hopefully an MEC party!

I will almost bet money Jellyroll and Lil wyte will be there

Of course Eminem is gonna show up and announce he’s doing a collab album with ICP! DUH

Ah, I knew there was something involving him. I stand corrected.

It cost them a lot of money to do it and probably didn’t make enough or lost on it.

I really really hope they do the webcast this year they did that a few years ago and it was awsome why the fuck did they stop doing that???

This is a good point and I would think it had to make them some extra money. However, as we’ve seen PSY doesn’t always have the best business practices (even after being a business for 2+ decades) and I would not be surprised if it somehow cost them more $ to stream than they received back… Still, I know I ordered a couple of the days each year they did it. What was cool about the first year they streamed, 2011 I think, is that you were able to go back and re-watch the performances for like another 9 months before they took them down.

But they only ever recorded it like 2 or 3 times… and it was dope as fuck. Plus all they did was the main stage each night.

Seeing the shows live is just a somewhat dope thing, but can never replace going to the GOTJ in person. So no, I don’t think it has to do with people purposely not going because there’s a chance the main stage will be streamed.

They shut down Psychopathiclive.com a few years back, so I don’t see them getting back into selling PPV’s anytime soon.

The ones they did were generally dope .

The best one was that Hatchet Attacks PPV from Milwaukee (at The Rave I think).

Upchuck hosted all these dope segments in between acts, and they had tons of camera angles and good sound throughout the show. Plus it only cost 4 dollars to order that one.

The 5 dollar JCW PPV’s were dope too, because they would always have a musical guest like Drive By or ICP come out to do a short set in the ring during the show.

cool
