I am certainly hoping that those two are evening Pendulum stage. It says that the main folks from LSP will be playing, but I dunno if they mean each artist has an individual set, or if they’re somehow gonna all share a set?? They named Liquid Assassin individually, but didn’t individually name Dark Half, Scum or anyone else. Either way, I’ve never seen Liquid Assassin before, so I’m stoked for that.

I’m not a fan of Waka but I seems like it would be good to smoke to live and just chill. Either way I like the additions to the lineup/stages. I checked out some of the other bands and they have a rapcore style to them. That kinda “bounce” nu metal from the late 90s/early 2k. Can’t wait to see who’s next. 

I counted how many Big Top Stage performers there were last year (22). Currently there are 16 for this year. So far for the Carousel Stage after dark there is only 2. Last year was 16. Still a lot more to come. Hope (hed)pe is one of them. 

So they officially added the campground that they unofficially added last year. lol. No more hill for the wrestling stage!!!

Goddamn it, I hope we can get my spot from last year. If we don’t, it’ll be a huge freakin’ buzzkill right from the get-go.

I know last year I was foaming at the mouth waiting for the infomercial to come out… but this year it seems like I’m waiting for the official schedule to come out!

This year actually has more stuff people can PARTICIPATE in and I just wanna know what I CAN get involved with based on performance schedules. Juggalo Family Feud, Morton’s List, Quest For Shangri-La amongst all the other stuff there is to do and see OTHER than all the stage acts…!!!

I gotta know what the hell I’m gonna be doing!

But of course, the schedule doesn’t come out until AFTER the infomercial does because they usually drop a bunch of shit during THAT (despite them seemingly giving everything away early this year).

Prediction: more waiting.  

@psyral-infection I would VERY MUCH like to play Morton’s List! But just like our Family Feud discussions, it ALL depends on the schedule!

It’s the same thing with those Texas Hold-Em Tourneys. Last year I was honestly leaning towards getting involved but once I saw that it’s a series of games over the period of The Gathering that overlaps SO MANY other events… there was no way I was gonna pass them up.

Then again, I guess with Morton’s it’d be all up to those dice and tables. For all we know, the results might make it possible to STILL go do stuff while still playing the game, heh.

Well, looking at the competitions page of the website, The Quest For Shangri-La is only for 24 people MAX so…

Barring that, I’m more into the idea of playing Morton’s and Juggalo Family Feud with some kind of Faygoluver’s contingent representing.

It’d be cool to play it with the actual book(s) and lists. The “app” is serviceable but the differences between it and the official book are noticeable.

I actually used to work in a gaming store for a while and we sold the Dark Carnival games but no one I knew was playing or talking about them so I never bothered to look (I was very much into the Cheap Ass Games series back then so…). At the time, I thought they were some kinda knockoff things. The artwork on the box for Shangri-La wasn’t very good looking sitting next to the flashy D&D stuff and Morton’s List was always shrink wrapped so I could never flip through it.

Now I’m kicking myself for not having picked them up as they’re now so difficult to find (complete). All the more reason to want to win these competitions!

I’m going camping in a couple of weeks with all my potential gathering gear on me and nothing else. It took forever to find enough space in the middle of nowhere that I could be isolated and not have to worry about being shot OR attacked by manbearpigs but I finally did it. Trying to pick out the hottest weekend I can within the time I have so I can get an idea of how practical some of the stuff is, if any of it is too cumbersome or what else I’ll need. Also plan on hiking as much as possible while I’m there.

Basically, I’m so goddamned excited for the gathering that I’m getting excited about doing test runs on my old camping gear and the new stuff I’ve got from the recommendations on here. Does anyone else do anything like that before the gathering? Like, test runs and shit? I don’t mean camping because I know some Juggalos can appreciate that shit but camping JUST to see how your gear will hold up.
