i wouldn't by any means call it a "downfall" but i've posted in a previous thread how wack i think vip packages are. i understand the situation, they are a business. my personal opinion as someone who has camped overnight for many, many shows, is that vip packages are a huge kick to the balls. i used to never/very rarely miss a show/event, now im not so rabid about it. alas i am in the minority here because i guarantee more people buy vip than have camped out. such is life oh well
yeah I wish twiztid did instores like they did for wicked. But I think icp's vip does offer alot more than twiztids.

The whole situation with Esham is screwed up on both sides. Maybe in a couple years they'll do some shit together again, but I'll believe it when I see it.
The simple fact of the matter is that PSY doesn't stay as "fresh" and up to date as they claim to, IMO. When you look at all the moves they make now and all of the aspects surrounding the label it is just all recycled stuff they've done before. Yes, it is on a much bigger scale but still.
The thing is though they could be staying new and fresh if they would actually accomplish all of the shit they talk about doing over the course of the year(s). How many projects has everyone from the label mentioned at Gatherings, or in interviews, or that are placed inside CD booklets that haven't come to be?

biggest downfall = screwing up ESHAM, and letting a dope group like THE DAYTON FAMILY fly away.
...and since some of the MOTOWN RAGE band members are from my home stretch of Ypsi- SCREW PSY FOR THAT!! WHAT!!!
Are The Dayton Family not on Psy anymore?
theyre most likely not...

v.i.p.s go so against whut i.c.p. used 2 be about ! instores were free and so much fun ! real juggs. would never pay 4 an autograph !
the good old days of in-stores. My favorite in store signing was when Twiztid did an in store at Rock of Ages in Garden City, MI the night before the Green Book came out. I was in line at 4pm,,,,line didnt even move until 9pm and we didnt meet them until 1:00 in the morning. Good times!
basically the reason why they do the VIP stuff is to fund the tours. i imagine that in this day and age shit isnt selling like it used to due to declining music sales and everything being 3X more expensive in a recession........but fuck that, they need to throw some in stores in the mix every now and then for that old school flavor.

I think their biggest downfall was the whole God thing from Shangri-La. Don't get me wrong, I love that song but ever since then things have been different. I knew they believed in God before the last song on Shangri-La, but I don"t like to be beat in the face with religion by anyone, much less by my favorite artists. It also seems that the whole "family" thing has gotten kinda...weird since then. before, we all just liked the same music. Now it's like some creepy fellowship of brothers & sisters lol. i dunno, that's just my personal opinion & I'm not trying to hate. I really did love Shangri-La.
Regarding Miracles? That song was basically a three minute version of J's verse from Dark Lotus 'Black Magic' (I think thats the title). "Music, Love, the unseen drug, fucking ligting bugs...it's magic". I mean c'mon, he said lightning bugs were magic. But thats why it's so dope!

black magic was an ominous song tho.. he was more-so talkin about the "beyond" than magical miracles.. i feel ya tho both tracks share similarities miracles was a much more colorful track tho while black magic was dark as hell

This sums it up! Maybe I just dont get it now-a-days, but when your just chanting "Familiy!, Family!, Family!," I want to rip your head off, shut the fuck up, its music, not family., grow up. Yes being apart of something and being accepted feels good. Your in a group, and everyone wants an idenity. Not all juggalos are the same. I just dont undertand throwing up "MCL," "Magic Ninjas What!" "Family," and it seems idiotic. But again thats my opinion. End of rant.
Also I think a touring summer festival would be cool. Ozzfest, Warped tour type thing. But that would cost alot, and you would need a bunch of acts to tour. Still its something new.

Their biggest downfall is only signing artists that have a gimmick, instead of just expanding out to or ther artist that are just simply talented. That's why Strange Music is so successful, they don't have a roster of people that sound like Tech. They got shit from ¡Mayday! to Stevie Stone, artists from all diffrent areas with compleatly diffrent styles and all just simply talented musicians. Everyone on Psychopathic is from Detroit, it's like they don't even look outside their own area code. They run their music label like a wrestling staple, everyone's got a gimmick and a mock up back story. Not saying I don't love the music they make, I've been down since I was 7 years old and I'm 21 now so I'm not going anywhere I'm down for life. I'm just saying all the false gimmicks get a little old after a while from a label that is all about being real. I'd like to see a little more focus on just the music I guess is all.

You wanna keep it real, walk out your door
That's as real as it gets from the sky to the floor
But the Dark Carnival will take your soul away
And give you mythical adventure in a magical way
