i think like any label they have gone through ebbs and flows, losing boondox sucked, but it didnt really hurt the label because boondox wasent nearly as popular as the rest of them

Id have to say them signing the greats in rap and producing shitty albums such as Charges of Indictment and Cold 187 and dubbing him the Psychopathic assassin Also the Hatchet Happenings video w/Sugar Slut and Dj Fillin,2 of the most annoying Psy Employees IMO.

man, to be real. shit changes. i know how bad juggalos want it to be 1995 again but its not. i personally dont give a fuck. im a fan of music and i take no label or catagory. if ICP and Twiztid were on tha fuckin radio tommorow id be kinda bummed but tha fact of tha matter is them niggas make good music and mainstream or underground shouldnt make a difference. Music is Music and as long as they truly want to make it and play it for us, im fine with it. And if I dont like it, its as simple as turning it off. Im tired of fans constantly talking shit every time something changes. If you dont like Bang Pow Boom go listen to Ringmaster. If you dont like Heartbroken and Homicidal, go listen to Freekshow. Shit changes including our precious underground.                               " Do you relate to the paint and what we're saying in the music that you claim to hear"- Twiztid

The biggest downfall is not keeping new artists.

Wheres the young blood in the label that they expect to keep the label going?

Psychopthic records is a business, I can respect that first & foremost, but I dont like thinking that possibly they're ONLY out to make money on the back of the love of the fans. How commercial as fuck has BPB & MDP been?  Extra flavour is all good, could it not be released as a seperate album instead of buying 3 copies of the 1 album to get it?

Their biggest downfall for me was when Violent J started trying to sing. That wack shit started in the shangri-la era.

Jeez....there was some singing on Riddle Box.

I've never minded J's singing on the hooks....I might be in the minority there but it's the truth

Additionally...I really like the fact that Psy honours legends of the rap game;

I really enjoy both The Solution and Charges of Indictment

you know what juggalos really want AWESOME DRE. He is such a legend! All juggalos love early 90's rap no one has heard of since.....the early 90's. Maybe they should sign tommy rich and tito santana to JCW. All wrestling fans love those guys, last time i thought of them was.....early 90's. "Props" to J for doing his thing and doing WHATEVER THE FUCK HE WANTS TO DO. Like alianating his fans by making decisions like signing the dayton fam, Cold 187em (what a great name), and awesome dre. Wanna know where your expensive gathering ticket money is going to? check the pockets of these groups. surprised

signing artists and not promoting them is one of their downfalls. Take Datyon Family for example, how u gonna fuck up one of the most ruthless rap groups to come outta michigan EVER!?

then another example is Motown Rage-  who got little to NO promo. did one stinking hallowicked tour with ICP and then when the album drops they dont promote shit and drop 'em. basically they dont know how to maintain and promote up and coming artists. they just figure "Well Twiztid, Blaze and ABK are all established, so lets not focus on anyone else. let's give the false hope in thinking they actually have a future with our company!" so what's gonna happen when Twiztid and Blaze decided to retire later in life, THEN how is joe bruce gonna make money? PSy puts all their eggs in the same basket and think thats all they need to do. PSY needs fresh meat. Dayton Family and Motown Rage were PERFECT for the Hatchet- and they fucked it up.

And you can say what u want about Esham, but they FUCKED UP ROYALLY with the godfather. Repentence should've been the next big hip hop record out of the D- but joe bruce's jealousy squashed any and all incentive for the record. i dont blame Esham for leaving,,,even though i dont think he made good business decisions past Sacrifical Lambz.

so the bottom line is, their biggest downfall is that they are comfortable with not having to promote their artists since Twiztid, Blaze, and ABK are all already established and dont need that extra push- they are too lazy to put any extra effort for anybody else they sign, so when the album drops and they dont push it, they do damage control by referring to it as a "flop".

....and i dont think that Cold 187um is gonna last as long as violent j predicts he will.

Yeah....the lack of promo thing is true. I think Psy believes that it has such a dedicated following that it doesn't need to do promo. Unfortunately with rap groups such as Dayton and Cold 187 they could definately do with a re-introduction.

With signing these rappers I think J is just attempting to show some love to rappers and groups that have influenced ICP or whose music he enjoys. It's a shame he doesn't go all the way and promote them so they can actually enjoy the sales for once. Saying that....ICP did take Dayton and Cold  187 out on tour, both played at the Gathering and Dayton was featured on an iPPV. People were probably aware that these records were coming out; I certainly was and different exactly have to look hard.

id say that psychopathic hasnt fallen down yet.

surely theyve made some mistakes, but the label is still alive and kickin.  this thread should be held in reserve until their albums dont chart anymore, and only sixty people show up for hallowicked.  a la esham.

at the moment, i feel like the biggest thing holding them back is the multitude of armchair music industry analysts amongst the fanbase [see above].

more to the point, i feel that psys biggest hangup is, and has always been, that they are too detroit-centric.  my personal opinion is that detroit isnt any better than any other large city.  worse, in a lot of ways.

i cant really blame them for representing for their hometown, though, so all you detroit types can rein in your outrage.

re promotion:  for the most part, none of the preceding examples worked all that hard at promoting themselves, either.  we all knew about all those albums, but we still didnt buy them, did we?

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

PSY's biggest downfall? Not promoting/putting out new artists? NO, who cares? Psychopathic will always just be ICP, Twiztid, and Blaze to me. The rest can come and go as they please. Too Detroit-centric? Hell no! That's where they originated, that's where their focus should stay imo. Losing Alex? This very well might be it. After he left they went all Death Row/Suge Knight on our ass and made their body guard their CEO. Like really? Does this even make logical sense? And it's deff shown I can say.
