Word to the Motha Fucka

Finally got it in the mail today. I’m on to the track before the last. 

I rarely ever love an album on first listen (even disliked TFTLP and Slipknot’s first album the first listen.. the brain has to process things I guess), but this one seems to stand out. I liked the variety here and there. The features are all good, from the Vilebillies guy and Jellyroll to this Crucifix fella, to the clowns themselves. Monster is of course the best, but its really all about the Meg and Dia sample. Its like “Stan” by Eminem: you could put a kitten meowing and pissing in a litter box over the beat then play that melodic singing and music and you’ve got yourself a good track. That being said, Dox still did better than many on his verses there.

Is it scary? No, but its moody and well produced.

I’m not alone in really not liking Pillin’ Spree am I? Song is just so bad and out of place on here. It sounds like the kinda shit they’d play in some club and get all them white girls squattin’ down and tryin’ to move their asses to or something. It’s awful. Only song on the album I just straight up disllike, don’t care for the beat, the hook is terrible, just…what a mess.

I’ve listened to Movin’ On a bit more, since that was a song I was really uncertain on when I first listened to the album and it’s definitely grown on me. Not my fav track, but probably near the upper half of the album. Still nothin’ touches Monster, Bloody Regrets, BEK, and Psycho Symphony.

Oh and another question, lyrics. This is a problem I have with a lot of songs/artists/etc. I like how the booklet with the album has, some, of the lyrics, but it’s kinda lame that not all of the songs have lyrics in there and none of them have the full lyrics (i.e. none of them have the chorus). Sometimes, it’s kinda nice to know what’s actually being said on some songs. It took me so many listens of the song Abaddon to figure out most of the chorus, and I’m still not even sure I have it all right. Something like’ “Come on in….mind altering” or some shit like that I dunno.

And looking the lyrics up online is a bit of a crap shoot. It’s funny, the insert on MDP has snippets from some songs, including the chorus for Mighty Death Pop, you look the track up online and most lyric sites are all copy and pasted from eachother and have “We’re the Mighty Death Pop” rather than “When the Mighty Death Pop”….

If  you have something against white girls trying to move their asses you can go and fucking die man.

Honestly when I hear stuff like that it makes me mad, the “white girls” thing. It says a few things. 1.) Only minorities can act trashy, 2.) White people are lame and look stupid partying. I mean, wassupwitdat? 

On topic, haven’t got the album yet. Have listened to the songs of note you guys have mentioned. I like pillin spree a lot, and my night sounds like the “sippin” of the new era, and I love that. ICP keep nailing it on features…cant wait for their new album
