Slipknot Confuses Fans Amidst Keyboardist Craig Jones’ Departure After 27 Years; New Slipknot Music Video “Death March” Out Now!

Iowa metal legends Slipknot will always have ties to Insane Clown Posse’s career history and underground music thanks to the classic faux Howard Stern Insane Clown Posse x Slipknot beef. Not to mention Sid Wilson (Slipknot’s DJ) has collaborated various times with Canadian underground hip-hop label Reel Wolf Productions. And Corey Taylor’s Astronomicon 5 appearance.

Right before Slipknot’s current European tour in support of their 2022 effort ‘The End, So Far’, Slipknot announced on their official Instagram that long-time Keyboardist/Sampler Craig Jones (originally joined Slipknot in 1996) had departed the band after 27 years.

Known for his silence and signature spikey mask, fans were immediately outraged with no explanations as to why Craig left. As the band hastily took down the post that mentioned #5’s sudden Slipknot departure. Of course, the internet never forgets. And publications such as Revolver Magazine, People Magazine, and even Consequence of Sound have reported that Craig Jones has indeed left Slipknot. But still with no answers as to why.

Not long after, Slipknot then posted a mystery hooded masked photo of a new Keyboardist/Sampler that apparently has joined Slipknot as an official member. European fans on Reddit took pictures of the new unknown Slipknot member performing live and posted them online. With Craig Jones’ departure, Slipknot now only has 5 classic members within the band via Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Mick Thomson, Sid Wilson, and Shawn “Clown” Crahan .

But amongst all the Slipknot news. Shawn “Clown” Crahan  will now be sitting out of Slipknot tours indefinitely to take care of his wife during another health battle. But promises to return to the band very soon.

From Clown via Facebook:

“Hello to all of our fans, it’s the clown. I would like to take a moment to tell everyone that I’m back home supporting my wife through some health issues, and I’ll be back on the road as soon as I can.

We’ve been through this before and as always, we appreciate the love and support. See all of you very soon.”

And now Slipknot have released a brand new eerie instrumental music video entitled “Death March” directed by Shawn “Clown” Crahan. You can watch that below! We here at Faygoluvers.net wish all past and current members of Slipknot all the best!

What a great read. I love the fact that the 1st three sentences had absolutely nothing to do w the story itself. That right there is called range. There was something for everybody there, the juggalos, the twizzlers, the Howard Stern and Reel Wolf Production fan bases.

My favorite line is “And Corey Taylor’s Astronomicon 5 appearance.”
What a banger. That’s a Pulitzer prize winner if I ever read one.

No, Patreon isnt a newly discovered planet w intelligent life, but the sky is the god damn limit.

Never used Live Journal but I had a popular MySpace Music blog that the net archived itself after it hit 150K reads:) https://web.archive.org/web/20080726095352/MySpace.com/supportingbands
But Scottie D been covering Slipknot on this site for years. Here’s a decade old post to prove that :p https://www.faygoluvers.net/v5/2012/06/slipknot-announces-knotfest-and-it-sounds-very-familiar/

Also, I’ve been doing various coverage for FLH since 2012 and my own interviews (This one first https://youtu.be/Y6vT0DHEmrw) started getting published here since 2011 without me even asking: p People act like I just popped up on this site a couple years ago. But I started lurking in 2007. I know many started since 1999, which is awesome in itself. Just pointing out my own content has been featured for 12 years now. Oldest I can find from the FLH archive: https://www.faygoluvers.net/v5/2012/09/heaven-russian-horrorcore-artist/ https://www.faygoluvers.net/v5/2012/09/richard-gein-interview-92712/ With that being said, come back as a contributor to the site, bro.
