There’s also only 4 Artist Seminars (AMB, Big Hoodoo, ABK and ICP) with this other mysterious fifth “Gathering Seminar”… Guess we should just be happy for The Wiz show.

With them cramming all the JCW stuff into the other days, that period of time between the END of the ICP show and whatever length of time it takes for everyone to crash is gonna be ANARCHY. They shut down lights and close a bunch of the food shops around then as well. A good five hours of Juggalos left to their own devices until breakdown time will sure be interesting, heh.

Exactly. I was starting to fall asleep half way through bloodymania last year but I still wanted to do something after ICPs set. No Deadly Medley or anything? But then again if there is nothing else going on it could be a good time to just hang at camp and chill. I just remember that I didn’t want it to end until I couldn’t even stay awake anymore. And that wasn’t at the end of the ICP set. If anything I think I got my 2nd wind after the set.

As far at the Gathering Seminar, I think its gonna have something to do with announcing this is the last year at Legend Valley and have Steve up there and give a big thank you and whatnot. And maybe talk about potential places next year.

it might be a little wobbly if you pull it front behind, especially if your on the rocks. I always thought this would be a good alternative to a wagon. only think that worries me is the quality of the wheels. I might search for a more heavy duty one but I like this style of a cart.

TWO VERY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:

1) is there a place to get ice at the grounds? without having to leave? i mean just a booth selling ice walking distance from my tent.

2) is there an endless supply of beer/other alcoholic beverages at all times? that means, bars that are always open no matter what time of day it is, always selling cold beer?

1) There is a general store on the grounds that sells ice. Also there are 2 gas stations within walking distance that sell ice too. They sell out at times but they keep getting trucks delivering it. Well last year they did.

2) there are no bars or beer vendors at legend valley. It’s all byob. You can buy beer at those same gas stations until 1am. Dunno when you can buy in the morning. Plus random ninjas sell beers out of their coolers too. Even shots.

not real bars obviously. just like a counter with cold beer for sale, but thanks my questions have been answered. haha thats the reason why icp has to pay for the gathering every year out of pocket. alcohol sales are where the profit is at at most festivals.

Damn….I feel sorry for any music acts on Saturday during the hours of 1 pm to 3 pm.  Its gonna be crickets…..lol

I think the line up is DOPE, and fuck yeah on the wig tossing!!!  I think THAT would blow Joe and Joeys wigs off if that really happened.  What a super fresh idea!  haha

One of these years I promise my wife and I will make it.  Haven’t Gathered since ’07…..the HOT Gathering.

I know others have mentioned it but it bears repeating because even though I’ve only been twice, I’ve noticed it happening a whole lot.

Pace yourself.

With any and all stimulants (even too much sugar can fuck you up in that level of heat), with sun, with events, with everything there. Again, I’ve only been twice but just from walking from point A to point B, you’ll see a ridiculous amount of people who were screaming “Gather harder!” on day one, completely washed up and looking like death on day two. You don’t want to be one of those people.

Also, don’t assume that each and every person there is “fam” and that you can trust them. Most people that are there and just like you and wanting to have fun and help each other out BUT any and all environments have their predators. The Gathering is no exception.

I’m not saying that you wouldn’t pace yourself or that you would assume everyone is trustworthy but it never hurts to remind.

IDK man, 2010 was fuckin toasty! If I remember correctly, the coolest it got (during the day) was around 98 degrees. I remember Day 0 – Day 1 was something around 104-105.

Yea, it was toasty.  But still wasn’t as bad as the HOT year.

Well shit…

Guess I haven’t been up on my “Jim Breuer News” over the years as I just found out that since around 2010, he’s become born again and “gone clean”… ugh… smh

I don’t recall any parts of his routines that could really be considered “dirty”. He didn’t go off like Carlin ‘er nuthin’. My favorite bit he did was about the alcohol in your stomach. But if what I *do remember is what he considers his “blue work”, I can’t possibly IMAGINE what he now considers “clean comedy”… I never considered him as salty a comic as Dave or others in the first place.

And guess what? We can blame Bill Cosby! No shit. Here’s an excerpt from an article written about Jim’s “going clean” from early 2014. BEFORE Cosby’s rape scandal became a real thing…

Excerpt from article: http://www.modbee.com/entertainment/article3162731.html

“I think it’s really hard to be honest. In real life, you naturally swear. You naturally are not on guard 24/7,” he said. “I think some comics (aren’t clean) for the shock value, or to be different. It’s like musicians – here comes the guy in the clown outfit, here come the guys who dress like robots. The wave of comedy is that it’s all dark, everything sucks and we hate everything. I am tired of all that. It’s exhausting. My life isn’t like that.”

Breuer’s life is that of a family man. He and his wife have been married for more than 20 years – before his “SNL” days – and have three daughters, ages 9, 12 and 15. Still, it was a conversation with comic legend Bill Cosby that persuaded Breuer to break away from his old comedy and rebuild his routine.

“Bill Cosby came on my radio show and he talked to me basically about inspiring people rather than just being funny,” Breuer said. “It’s good to be funny, but great to inspire. He made me read a chapter in one of his books, which at first I thought was pompous, but then realized why he made me read it. When you are doing anything in life, if you are trying to appease an audience, you are not, and you will never become, who you are meant to be. It was so moving.”

It was advice that Breuer said he still marvels at, and wondered about. But last month, he spoke with fellow comic and Cosby friend Sinbad, who put it in perspective for him.

“I didn’t understand why Cosby reached out to me. I am still confused to this day,” he said. “I want to say, ‘Why me? I’m not a superstar.’ Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, those are superstars. So why did he reach out to me. I saw Sinbad (a few) days ago and he said, ‘Cosby doesn’t just show up for people. He studies people. He saw something in you.’ And that blows my mind. That was a major influence. He gave me the inspiration to grow as a comedian. For that, I will forever be thankful to him.”

What came out of that inspiration was a reinvigorated comic. In 2010, Breuer released his autobiography, “I’m Not High: (But I’ve Got a Lot of Crazy Stories About Life as a Goat Boy, a Dad, and a Spiritual Warrior).”

Maybe that’s why he’s willing to play The Gathering. That Cosby shit knocked him down a cloud or two. Or this new path of his is some kind of thing that brought Jim and Violent J together. I’m sure there’s a story there. I just really hope he hasn’t gone TOO soft or preachy. He tours with metal bands so… hope.

I’m gonna need to see Jim Norton talkin’ about fuckin’ trannies and paying to cuckold prostitutes to cleanse my comedy otherwise.

Ya, I have no interest in Jim Breuer anymore. Fuck, they should have gotten Bill Cosby to play. I’d rather see him. Whatever, gonna be at Kuma’s party anyway.
