nobody really sells tickets. its the gathering. thats what sells.
I think that’s true about almost everyone, but Die Antwoord is an exception. They would have gotten more people to go to the Gathering this year. Almost for sure not enough to justify what they would cost though.

They could be a mystery performance but that doesn’t seem likely. Why spend so much money and not get advertising out of it?
The lineup didn’t really hype me up. Other than gwar and green jello, I’m not hip to anybody but the regulars. Ib got a few names I’m gonna YouTube the fuck outta though and bone might be dope.
Was really hoping ho99o9 would get invited back.

I’m not into metalcore bs so I hate all the metal except GWAR, they are the shit and this will be the 55th time I’ve seen them. I could bring my GWAR mask and sword but I don’t want to damage/lose that shit.
Besides the obvious PSY/MNE/STRANGE shit I’m most looking forward to seeing Slick Rick and BT&H.. maybe the mystery performers but only time will tell.
Needless to say, tickets are now purchased and it looks like my girl and I are not going to worry about finding a ride and plan on taking the Greyhound into Columbus EARLY Tuesday morning (2am) or getting in at 5pm on Tuesday. Just need to figure out how to get to town but we’re down for Day 0 and FLH camp! CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS!

Mystery performances could be a tactic to try to keep the people who throw shit from rallying together.
Im super stocked for bone thugs. I wouldnt go to a show here cuz it would be nothin but hoodlums and gangsters, glad i finally get to see them.
I agree the lineup is weak but fuck it, less things to choose between or miss

If you never used UBER before, you can usually google first ride free codes and get 30 off your first ride, making the trip from the columbus bus station to the grounds about $15. Taxi costs like 90. Getting back might be tough, I was able to hitch a ride with a dope ass juggalo I met while on the grounds.

My guesses for the mystery spots are: Three 6 Mafia reunion and the Ice Cube/NWA/lil eazy e performance. I would love to be surprised with a Primus show but that’s just me….
…oh and anyone notice STITCHES is NOT on the lineup? As much hype as there was him returning to the gathering after he turned it the Fuck out last year

I remember Jumpsteady saying last year that they wanted to keep switching up the lineup and not invite so many of the same artists every year and it looks like that’s become the rule.
Other than artists who are either on PSY or used to be, who’s back from last year? I count Tech and Riitz, Hopsin, KMK… is that it?

I haven’t seen it being discussed elsewhere on the net yet or no one’s keyed in on just what the hell the “Gathering seminar (with Jumpsteady)” is ???
Will it be the start of the speculation/aggrevation train for hashing out the following year’s new venue? Maybe it’s a thank-you thing for Trickle and Legend Valley?
Hmm…

I’m pretty sure they’ve done them in the past, with it being mostly ‘what kinda fresh shit is psy working on that isn’t icp”
He’ll probably hype up the new artist, the deck building game, next years gathering, the icp seminar, the audio book, etc.

The only things that interested me on the infomercial, aside from the infomercial itself which was hilarious, are;
ICP, GWAR (haven’t seen them without Oderus or Vulvatron. Blothar doesn’t seem to make a good frontman so I’m curious how it plays out), Lo Key (he was one of my “must watches” last year but he couldn’t make it), Alla Xul Ellu (I’ve been listening to those dudes since they were the ManiAXE and it’s the shit to see them getting the attention they’ve deserved for years), Jim Norton, Wizard of the Hood, ICP seminar, and maybe some Bloodymania.
Last year there were only two acts that I avoided like the plague and this year it’s like half the fuckin line up. Which means I have pretty much a completely empty schedule to meet/hangout/wander aimlessly and see interesting things/people.
On the mystery lineup thing I think Rob T almost nailed it. New Artist, Solo Sets, and Have Knots. I think that they probably told Die Antwoord that they’ll leave a spot open for them and if they can’t figure out the funds in time they’ll do a cypher of some sort.
