I dunno man i dont think hes generic. I think its just “modern”. I really dont think its ignorance when i say i never heard anything like it. I kinda think hes doing the opposite. Theres alot of people that would rather him sound a certain way. Especially considering the people arpund him (awsome rappers). I think its clean and a breath of fresh air. Its either he makes the music he thinks is the shit or try to sound like some else. Like more old school. Or like more goofy and funny. I just think its the sound of “new”, wich in our culture isnt always welcomed. It sounds “cool” too. Like u could see other cats slappin it. Or it doesnt sound very “psychopathic”. Its current. Not stolen. I could go thru the clown stuff and be like oh yup ice cude oh yup that sounds like the ghetto boys. But it comes from authentic place. But i can see 100% where ur comming from @RobTidwell. Also remember this his DEBUT album. So all the ideas he had for years i think we just heard. Skys the limit with this cat.

Generic is the perfect word. Not that he sucks and I’m sure that I’ll love this album, but he never seems to step out of the same old song structure of 16 bars/hook/16 bars/hook and that’s the song. And his beats seem very… the same…

Like, his music isn’t adventurous, in a way. Don’t know what it is.

I can see where you’re coming from in terms of it sounding modern rather than generic but I disagree.

But I almost never like the other acts on psy. Like, I legit stopped buying twiztid albums after mirror mirror, never liked blaze, and abk. I like hoodoo though, but only in small doses.

And thanks.

U know about that stuff more than i do by far. The bars and stuff. I just Like the music you know?

Thats crazy how u i tnink the complete opposite. Something about him his music and how hes doing it is adventurous to me. Like i like his music right? Thats good enough for me. And the stuff he does with it makes me go like cool hes pushing it. Like the killjoy club shit the joker card this shit i dunno thats sounds pretty adventurous.

I understand this…as much as ppl hate on stuff like Zen of Love of Mr White Suit at least it had a different style and sound to it…tbh I wish he would have incorporated some of that style into this record as far as singing and stuff goes…maybe ICP had more to do with that influence since it was their songs and seems like they weren’t really in the studio with him working on this album much…I know the album is called Slaughter so maybe that’s why he went in the direction he went in but for me it would have been a more enjoyable all around record with some more diversity as far as the music goes

not trying to hate on it by any means though…I enjoy it more than most of what AMB’s done since Blood In, Blood Out (an album I don’t hate nearly as much as a lot of juggalos and I wasn’t as impressed with their stuff after that as a lot of los were either…just my opinion though)…definitely some solid songs that I’ll be playing for a while

so if a psychopathic artist gives me a half assed attempt at an album i should be expected to jump up and down to buy something i will never listen too?

i’m not a sheep. and i dont reward mediocrity.

if you release a average album, regardless of label. i aint buying your shit. better luck next time.

Don’t support people who dont try.

that said, are digital downloads up yet? i dont need more fucking cds.

Actually, alot of people don’t use ‘faggot’ as a homophobic slut anymore. and your berating everyone over it is also wiggidy wack.

when i hear someone say ‘faggot’ i think that person must be a annoying faggot. not that person must be homosexual.

but then ive said it before. political correctness is tiring. being offensive (unintentionally mind you) is easy. i’ll take the easy route.

i understand where you are coming from, but i disagree. when you listen to an album by someone whose done the entirety of the leg work, beatmaking, mixing, mastering etc your bound to have the stuff sound the same.

call me old fashioned, i like the standard bars/hook rinse repeat cycle. i like other stuff aswell, but its not a turn off for me.

but i think when someone is making all the beats for an album, the producers ‘traits’ are going to shine through.

i could say the same of your music, while in no way shape or form is your production generic, but i can pick a lucem ferre beats instrumental from a mile off, even without your beat stamp.

Young Wicked – Slaughter.

Certified banger. i love it. i am fond of ‘new’ style of beats. i like it. young wicked is doing good things.

So I did get my copy over the weekend and it did come with a fresh Hallowicked single (which I probably won’t open for collection’s sake) and an old school sticker (which I sneakily applied to my fiancee’s book shelf). Those two things make up for not getting it on release day. I suppose the evil HG isn’t that bad.

In any event, I’ve gotten about half way through the album and I must say I’m very impressed with what I heard so far. Quality tracks with quality production. Good stuff Otis.

Maybe that’s an AMB thing, I dunno, not too familiar. My bad.

More listens in and I’m still enjoying it quite a bit. Not sure I’d say generic exactly, but it certainly has a more mainstream sound than most things released on psy, that’s for sure. I almost find this album refreshing when comparing to other psy releases at least.

I listen to basically no other rap except for psy(ICP to be more specific) so what do I really know?

I listened to the album and I enjoyed it, but basically didn’t have too many surprises from it.

^ This all day. I was never a big fan of otis or amb, but this album bangs. Every track. Not counting ICP, this is probably the best album to come off PSY in the past few years. As u said, a complete breath of fresh air.

Cool to see that Hatchetgear is giving away free shit with orders again, just like back in the day.

Makes me want to hit up their next pre-order.

@dramaman127 I actually said I like them, but that there is something about them that they are missing. And it’s not a gimmick. I don’t know what it is.
