I do agree that ICP has always talked about social issues, but it was always in a much more broad sense.

Icp specifically mocked Republicans obsessing over bill Clinton’s extramarital affairs on terrible. Carnival of carnage specifically called out a Republican governor. 

They used to just imply that the government, rich people, the ruling class IN GENERAL, were evil, meaning all of them regardless of their “side.”

The government right now is Republican. You’ll notice nowhere in wtf do they mention Democrats retaking power or balancing the books. 

Talking about “The Wall” lets you know that they are going to be putting specifically anti-Trump shit in there, which is stupid because it reinforces the idea that Republicans and Democrats are anything other than a creation of the gov’t to make us fight amongst each other and feel like “hurrr durrrr I has a opinion on gubmint!”

Heres the thing chief, you can be anti trump and anti racism without being pro democrat. 

But also, you’re dumb. Republicans and Democrats aren’t a “creation” of the government. They ARE the government. Or rather, it’s two subsets of a system of government. 

This kind of deep state conspiracy theory horse shit is a right wing ploy to demotivate the populace so that fewer people vote. 

They’ll probably even go full-NPC and talk about “ORANGE MAN BAD, ORANGE MAN RACIST” in at least one of the tracks as well, I’d bet money on that. 

They’ve always talked about racists being bad. Why should they stop now just because he’s president?

Also, they literally spent one line on him in the song and it offended you so much that you wanted to rage quit the track but you think their the npc? 

Listen to “Assassins” and then listen to “W.T.F.” The anger in “Assassins” is so much more raw and real sounding. “W.T.F.” sounds like…how do I put it? It sounds like processed, fake anger, meant to generate revenue from Juggalos who want an “angry” album.

I completely disagree. I think it sounds a million times angrier than assassins. I bump it in my car next to tracks by ho99o9 and the shit goes balls to the walls hard. 

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a fan, probably always will be, but that doesn’t mean that their music hasn’t changed. And I don’t just mean the production, I mean that overall vibe and feel of their music is just not what it used to be.

Look at it like this. Back in the day, if you introduced someone to ICP, it was very mysterious. If you didn’t have Internet, you couldn’t look up anything about them or what they looked like, all you had to go on was the music. These days, you try to get someone into ICP, and the first thing they see if they Google their name is the fucking video for “Miracles.”   

I don’t really see the comparison you’re making. When I first got into icp I didn’t have the internet. I watched wrestling tho. ICP came out with the oddities at one point singing a happy friendly song. 

Or say that you got into them during the b/b era. Lots of happy songs there. Hell, milenko had a song about heaven. 

And even if they didn’t, miracles came out ten fucking years ago. Since then, they’ve released a shit ton of music. Some of it angry, some of it not. Just like the old days. 

Imagine if the internet was more wide spread in the 90s and golden goldies was the thing that went viral.

They havent typically done sjw stories. Theyve done plenty of morality based ones but that isn’t the same thing.

12 IS an sjw song. It’s a song about the criminal justice system failing people by ultimately resorting to violence itself. Yes, it’s revenge, but it’s also specifically against the death penalty.

“Murder me just for your law, and I’ll be back for alla yall”. 

The death penalty is inherently corrupt, especially since our judicial system is violently racist and classist. This song addresses that. 

When – you- use sjw you use it as an insult so you don’t have to think about the complexities of an argument. You can ignore the argument since you don’t like that it’s coming from someone you have decided is an “sjw”. But if you really break the acronym apart, a social justice warrior describes exactly what 12 is. 

The person killed didn’t deserve to die, regardless of his innocence or guilt, and is seeking justice against the social inequality and the people who have biases against him. He’s literally a warrior in a fight against social injustice. 

Just because -you- think sjw is an insult doesn’t mean that’s the only way to interpret the phrase. 

Your view of FFF is exactly what Im hoping for too, and wtf! Is the perfect introduction to that. The beat is aggressive. The verses are angry and jump through multiple social issues. It’s chaotic. It’s energetic. Makes me wanna take a crowbar and go bigot bashing.

I recently kicked another friend out of my life. For many reasons. One of our last conversations was about the Charlottsville murder. He was adamant that the far right dudes with the swastikas deserved to March there et cetera… he has been in jail 3 times since then, and is currently in there. For hypodermic needle possession, slapping a 7-11 employee that caught him eating their food in the store, and most recently trying to steal anhydrous tanks from a farmer to cook meth. He inherited $130,000 after his dad died two years back, and has blown it all on drugs and bullshit. He was relatively normal until the money….. anyway, I’m trailing off. What I wanted to say was that this dude is the epitome of what is wrong with America. The same kind of willfully ignorant, insecure honky that blames Obama and liberals for all of his problems. Now look where his blind, WRONG way of thinking and breathing got him. He deserves zero sympathy, and no mercy. 

As far as Trump, yes his hardcore followers are worthless, but I try not to blame politicians for what I can fix in my life. I struggled through Clinton, Bush, I struggled through Obama and I struggle during Trump. Other presidents too but I was fortunate enough to mostly be under my parents care during then. I’ve been on my own since 1998. It was only after taking my life into my own hands did I fucking make things better.

On Christmas my nephew showed me a song called fuck Donald Trump and I showed him WTF! We had a great conversation about social commentary and how music can be a vehicle for progressive change. We also broke down the different lyrics in both songs and argued them from different perspectives. 

It was a lot of fun.   

Know what would make for some real ‘progressive change?’ What was it that J said in Piggy Pie? Break into rich people’s homes and choke them to death in their sleep? “Kill rich people” seems to be ICP’s vision of how to make the world better, and I agree. I wonder why they don’t blatantly speak of killing the rich in their music anymore?

They’re so good. I fucking love them. Maybe its because I’m such a world hating pessimist, but I FUCKING LOVE when they just start talking about all the horrible shit around (that’s why I love BPB so much, is my fucking therapy to hear “they all die”). And god did they do good at it. 

My favorite line is the line about how “they” (government, doctors) could cure cancer but don’t because “it pays” meaning chemo gets doctors paid a shit ton. It feels so true, even if it isn’t true you just know that SOMETHING like this must have happened.

I’ve worked with a couple cats from Canada and when they come here, one of their biggest fears is needing any kind of medical treatment.

At this point, electing politicians who just get bought off by lobbyists will do nothing. These greedy fucks would rather walk over our corpse’s than to give up power or take any kind of a financial loss.
