A lot of people probably think that Psy went downhill after The Wraith dropped, but I honestly love The Tempest, The Calm, and The Eye of The Storm(That’s my fav Psy EP.)

Once you enter the Gathering grounds, it is a clean slate. All your problems with anyone, are left at the gate. The gatherings are too short to not just have the best time ever. It’s always over before you know it and why waste it with anything negative.

See you there! Whoop Whoop!

I read this in ABK’s voice and it was awesome.

The Tempest always sounded like another Bizzar/Bizaar to me. Which is a very good thing. The Eye of the Storm has some solid shit too. Never understood why Little Yellow Bus didn’t become a crowd pleaser track.

This one always makes me laugh. Since the day it came out I’ve been listening to it and it still makes the rounds for me but it hasn’t gotten old yet.

Anyways I apologize I got my own shit going on and honestly I should not have been so mean. It was pointless and honestly has little to do with you, the fact I decided to fuck with you to vent my frustrations with my own shit is pathetic and I apologize for that.

You have always been nice to me and I should have let your statement be even if it did frustrate me.

Thanx for being a real man and apologizing homie. I apologize if i came off as tellin u whut to do, wasnt the intention, and sorry for makin u feel enraged/frustrated. My lifes intentions is not to make people feel any form of negative emotions, except for smack.

I kinda been seeing whuts been goin on in the “living in the age…” thread as of late, and didnt want all that bullshit start to trickle into alll the other threads wit all dat pointless negative energy.

I feel that if any1 who wants to go on that thread, they should go thru all the other threads 1st  and save that one for the last. This, in theory, should limit the bad energy from spewin into other threads

Last album I fully enjoyed was hells pit for sure. Everything else after has just had a handful of tracks. I feel like musically, ICP was in there prime during shangrila. that album was pure gold. I don’t think they will ever reach any sort of spot like that ever again. Lost and found just sound like ep’s to me. Not one single new “card” had any sort of card feeling in my eyes. It all just seemed way too corny and some songs came off as really bad.

My biggest gripe is the style and beat selection they go with. I still to this day don’t understand how MEC produced albums like ajb, riddlebox, milenko, etc and we got bpb and mdp.. it just made absolutely no sense to me. Icp still has way too much happy shit in there music or joking stuff and I just can’t take them serious much anymore. Also the fact that wicked and sugar slam is always all over everything makes me not really want to listen anymore.

As a whole I feel like they have just gotten lazy with there releases ever since after hells pit.. that’s just my opinion tho, not everybody will agree.

I loved Shangri-la, I hated pit though. Definitely one of my least favorite albums of theirs. I only like it slightly better then the missing links and death pop. I actually didn’t mind bpb I liked the vibes reminded me of tempest a little lighter and what not.

Man… With all this negativity and shit going on I can’t wait til the gathering when I can truly sit down with y’all homies and have real conversations about real world shit without all this posting bullshit getting in the way. Its a pain in the ass to post from a phone and get a point across which is why I don’t. See you guys in a month-ish. Whoop whoop!!

I’m really looking forward to the meet up. I’ve had nothing but great experiences meeting up with folks from this board.

As for the ICP discussion, I wasn’t a huge fan of BPB and MDP, but I’ve loved everything since House of Wax. I think its only going to go up from here; especially with FTFOMF and Karma Forest coming next.

Alot of us are negative because we know ICP can offer so much more. there’s no way they can’t make dope ass music anymore. There’s just not putting in the effort, and if they do, they do it over some really wack ass fuckin beats. if I took a handful of tracks off of bpb, mdp, lost, and found I could put together one dope ass fucking album that would be considered my first card of the new deck.

I mean seriously, go back and listen to ajb, gm, riddlebox, etc then turn on the new deck and tell me mike’s still got it.. his guitars suck ass anymore, the melodys aren’t really there, and the drums are really wack. I know i’m gonna end up getting the “if you wanna listen to the old shit then go listen to that” but that’s not the case.. I want MEC to produce, and I want him to step it up. Create shit that’s fucking bomb.

I just wanna hear ICP go crazy on a release and drop something that shocks us all. even if its one last album. These last 3-4 albums have been soft as fuck.

Nah, you won’t get that suggestion from me, at least. But I will ask why you seem so fixated on this. It seems to me that you have used this same argument time and again, like you’re convinced that if we all go back and listen to the albums we’ve all heard we’ll suddenly have some new perspective of Mike Clark’s production skills.

You like the older albums better than the new ones. Some other people do too. That’s fine, but it is not definitive proof that Mike Clark stopped being good at what he does, or that their new cards are bad albums. It is just your subjective opinion.

Also, I guess to get back to the original point, I think they’ve had a few low points, to varying degrees, but nothing they have or will not bounced back from. Definitely, in my opinion, has not been on any kind of steady decline since some specific point. Quality varies, but I think that should be expected.

To be fair, I LOVE the production from the older albums and I feel like Mikes production has changed. He’s not looking through crates with ICP finding every weird sound anymore because they don’t have to anymore.

It’s the same arguement because it’s the truth. If you can say anything from the new deck even comes close quality wise to there older shit, you’re on some type of drugs. It doesn’t. Digging through crates of music doesn’t have much to do with it. Listen to AJB most of that album was heavier type of guitars. Riddlebox also had strings and pianos in it. I already get that most of FLH is die hard juggalos which I am cool with, but none of this new stuff comes anywhere close to anything old. And that’s not even saying jokers cards, even the ep’s were the shit. At this point in time, it’s more less the beats I just don’t like. Drums also have a HUGE roll in this. MEC’s drums were always super fucking dope. I havent’ liked very many drums from MEC since he’s come back.

I will forever argue with people on here about this subject till I turn blue in the face but this is MY opinion. And whoever doesn’t agree with it, that’s your opinion.

Here’s to me; what Icp should sound like in the “new era”

Personally; I can’t fuck with 808’s in icps music. That just ruins it for me. Real sounding drums make there beats sound so much better. They just don’t mesh with 808s very well. I also put “lost in the carnival” there because the song itself is just super dope.

Everything else off the albums had pretty much 808s in it and I can’t fuck with that, not in icps music, it’s too played out now a days. I see what they’re doing, by keeping things ‘fresh” they are trying to stay with whats hip in music. Now if older drums made a comeback i’m pretty sure they’d go back to it, but everyone these days uses 808’s and it’s just fucking played out anymore. Most of the other songs I posted though had dope drums. I’ve also always liked when icp had actual real drumming in there songs.
