I don’t think they have went downhill at all, however, there have been some terrible releases recently but there’s also been some DOPE ones!  I’m just happy that these dudes in their mid to early 40’s are still putting out music for us, putting on the Gathering, and still touring like they do.  It has not slowed down at all really.  Still putting out dope merch, and same with Twiztid.  I’m just glad everyone is still here and still fuckin doing it!!!!  SO many groups have came and went, but here’s OUR GUYS still kicking ass fuckin 25 years later…..Be happy and thankful for that.

When they cut their dreads is when it started. By The Wraith it was totally gone for me, musically. I still check what they are doing as I find the culture extremely interesting and a lot of what they do outside of music really entertaining. I guess I’m a fan of ICP… I just dont really listen to their music…

I touched on this in the AJB thread but for me it was AJB. There was something in their sound that they cultivated from COC to Milenko that was just pure magic. it was new and fresh and it sucked me in. AJB disappointed me because I felt like that sound that pulled me in had dwindled on and faded after that album and I really haven’t cared for any release since then until the Phantom. Ive stuck around because I’ll always have love those dudes no matter what. They left me with so many fun memories from my childhood that I’ll always be down but the rap rock, the acoustic touchy-feely shit, and the goofy I Stab People/ Still Stabbing style isn’t for me.
In fact, the biggest let down for me is that they ran with the goofy style when they should have focused on the atmospheric story telling style. Mr. Johnson’s Head, Cemetery Girl, Amy’s in the Attic, Prom Queen, 12, Under the Moon, Play With Me, etc. No body can fuck with that style like they do. J’s one of the greatest story tellers in hip hop, IMO.

But with that being said, the Phantom had some of that ol’ dark carnival magic on it for me. And they seem tighter than ever. From what I’ve seen on videos they are absolutely murdering the Riddle Box tour, which they’ve always killed it live so for them to step up their live show is impressive. I think the future of Psychopathic is looking good and I’m actually excited for things to come.

I think there putting out more ICP music now then ever and touring hasn’t slowed down much other then injuries or legal issues here or there but hey its happened to all of us.  Maybe it has gone downhill as far as money idk??? Id say psy peaked during the American Physco tour but this morphed into an ICP thread so imo ICP has a lot left in the tank I like to belive the next record is gonna be better then the last because that’s what makes me buy there records

Now of course, you’re on this board so you still have an interest in it (as do I), but I think a lot of have a point we feel PSY started going downhill and never recovered.

Some of you (including J) think PSY is at it’s peak right which is dope too! All opinions welcome, and if it never did, then feel free to state that as well. But for me, it’s just not there anymore, yet I still follow everything and like reading J’s long ass posts, watching interviews, etc.

The last truly GREAT Psychopathic album to me was Hell’s Pit, now 12 years old.

By 2008 I was fully out of my “major Psychopathic Records” mode. “Bang Pow Boom!” actually had some decent tracks but I have not enjoyed a Psychopathic album released from 2010 on.

I also feel that Twiztid became completely non-listenable with every album after Independent’s Day.

It makes me kind of sad looking back and remembering how dope shit used to be.

I mostly agree except I think Bang pow boom and after is dope. I’m on record as saying death pop is as dope an album as any jokers card from the original six, including milenko.

And I stopped liking twiztid before ID but that was the last album I downloaded and checked out in full.

I still think the last joker card(s) (Marvelous Missing Links) are complete shit.  I believe they still have more hits then misses on there albums.  Phantom was by far the best album in years.  I personally think that I have heard so much ICP that it does not have the same “shock value” and harder for me to judge on if they have gotten better or worse.  Obviously, I still listen to them, I don’t listen to Green Day’s new stuff, Rob Zombie’s new stuff, or even Twizted any more (and any other 90’s band).  I still love Ice Cube though. ICP is the only constant music I have listened to for 18+ years, so to say they have gone downhill is hard.  If someone starts to suck, I stop listening (hence the examples I gave).

Agreed ! (pretty much)

I think BangPowBoom is when I gave up on ICP releasing albums I would listen too and it was a sad time after all the wait for the new jokers card set. It think it’s a proper pop album. I mean what happened to stuff like “Amy’s in The Attic”, “12”, “How Many Times” and all that (although they all songs from before they were released on Psy)

Couple good tracks on Lost but literally like three tracks or something, for a double album release it sucks ball and I hate their happy and god/religious shit. In the old days their “happy” songs were more funny and entertaining like Super Balls and stuff like that now it all like “man life is so great, look at the beautiful clouds, Im so blessed to be alive, lets cook hot dogs”

Then PHANTOM was released and I fucking loved it and have a little hope for the future now as I seriously thought I was going to have to just listen to the first lot forever. Thats how ICP should sound imo it’s them but updated I hope they stick on that path Im excited for the first time in over 10 years. And it fucked and shat all over any thing anyone who has left Psy has done , showin that ICP are the originators and can still kill it better than the youth, they ARE the wicked shit.

Lost, Found, and The Outtakes, when compiled properly is exactly the album that Jumpsteady said it was. Ringmaster vibe with an Amazing Jeckel Brothers attitude. It’s quite clear that they intended Missing Link to be one album up until the last minute when they tried to stretch em out.

Bang! Pow! Boom! ranks up there as one of my favorite cards period. The new six cards thus far have all been incredibly different from one another but damn are they all powerful in their own ways.

I’ve only been excited about two Twiztid albums since they were first signed. Mostasteless and W.I.C.K.E.D. So I’ve went from checking out their new albums if I have nothing else to listen to to just not paying attention to them at all. Aside from a few singles I haven’t listened to anything they’ve done since W.I.C.K.E.D.

I wouldn’t say they’ve gone downhill for me. I still learn or acquire something fresh from each album… Icp, twiztid, blaze ect. Over the years I have noticed maybe a…writers block? From everyone. But like I said they still leave me content, for the most.

I’m also impressed with the direction everything is going… I mean the branching out of wicked shit/ horrorcore rap. More labels producing shit juggalos likecheers… That’s formula for growth.

As artists they are required to do their own thing aka be original, and not succumb to doing whut the fans want. Think about it, only half the fam would agree wit u, while the other half would disagree wit u. They cant make every1 happy, thats y u gotta respect whut they do and who they are. They are 20 years deep and are still unpredictable which makes them fresh and original. Instead of having the “expectations” mentality when an album drops, try going back to that “i cant wait to hear whut they gonna say on this album” mentality. It’ll make them fresh again, atleast in theory.

I for one love the happy killer clowns. Mr. Happy, and both bizzar albums actually, is my fav. non-joker cards records. Dont get it twisted tho, i love me some evil story songs, like u mentioned, but ifeel they are best when only sprinkled into the mix.

The style u crave is why they kept dark lotus going. They give u a whole fuckin album  of story telling, that way u can enjoy icp for who they are. Nowadays atleast

Not in the slightest. Milenko was the last of the ‘magic’ as far as the actual music goes for me. The WWF era was fun but not exactly the ‘peak’.

Should I reword what I said to “sometime between Milenko and AJB” for you?

For me? Psy. sold out when Alex left and ICP went Hot Topic! Those fingerless knit gloves and Tripp pants were gay !

replacing my heart with a liver, so I can drink more and care less!

Naw, I get what you mean. That first sentence just threw me off. It read like they lost the magic as a direct result of cutting the dreads.

It’s a little bit of all three. Like, the way I imagine, knowing how their cards usually go, it was laid out before they added stuff to them. Kinda fun to do to be honest with ya. Even if you don’t like the albums as they are, it’s worth a shot to assemble it the way you like it. I didn’t like Lost and Found as two separate albums but once I organized them with a Jokers Card in mind, I found my Missing Link, meaning the actual card. Just gotta trim the fat and whatnot. If you still curious though, the tracklist is:

  1. Found Intro/Lost Intro (acid pro’d them bitches together)
  2. Missing Link
  3. Get Clowned
  4. Apocalypse
  5. I Fucked a Cop
  6. Let Loose
  7. Dead Heather
  8. The Midway
  9. The Monster
  10. Six Pedophiles
  11. Vomit
  12. Lost at the Carnival
  13. The Dream
  14. The Carousel
  15. Why’d I Have to Die
  16. Falling Apart
  17. I’m Sweet

See people like you are a major issue with me. By saying fuck this thread I voiced my view on how retarded it was and the fact this subject has been talked about so many times it is beyond stale

As for your self righteous bullshit. Fuck you, and go suck a fat hairy donkey dick you Nazi piece of trash. Don’t you ever try and censor someone again. Now I understand where smack is coming from with you jerks.
