Now of course, you’re on this board so you still have an interest in it (as do I), but I think a lot of have a point we feel PSY started going downhill and never recovered.
Some of you (including J) think PSY is at it’s peak right which is dope too! All opinions welcome, and if it never did, then feel free to state that as well. But for me, it’s just not there anymore, yet I still follow everything and like reading J’s long ass posts, watching interviews, etc.
The last truly GREAT Psychopathic album to me was Hell’s Pit, now 12 years old.
By 2008 I was fully out of my “major Psychopathic Records” mode. “Bang Pow Boom!” actually had some decent tracks but I have not enjoyed a Psychopathic album released from 2010 on.
I also feel that Twiztid became completely non-listenable with every album after Independent’s Day.
It makes me kind of sad looking back and remembering how dope shit used to be.

Cry me a fucking river.
another ‘typical’ old school juggalo ‘back in my day’ rant.
I disagree, i think ICP are taking their music in a refreshing direction. change is as good as a holiday as the saying goes.
As for twiztid, i think they might ahve gone a little wild with creative freedom since leaving psy, but to say they have released nothing listenable since independents day is arguably the stupidest thing ive ever read…. and i read the first true blood book. Personally i love most of what twiztid is doing right now, the darkness wasnt the greatest twiztid album ever but it had some absolute gold on it.
i think ICP have had flat spots, and my least favourite albums by them are considered the ‘greatest classics’ they ever made. but to say they fell off? nah, they will ‘fall off’ when they stop headlining the gathering, or stop releasing wicked shit. and the post first deck albums, the tempest/the calm are two of my favourites. didnt much like eye of the storm(is that the right title even?) but i never thought they fell off.
Do i think they are money grubbing business men? yep. Cult leaders in the worlds smelliest cult? definitely! hasbeen musicians try to reclaim some modicum of fame they had 15 years ago while signed to disney for 30 seconds? fuck no.

I started listening to icp in 97. I feel like psychopathics releases began to lose a little magic in 2000. Which isn’t saying much because the quality of the 90’s releases is damn near perfect(mike Clark was a genius). Psychopathics worst years musically was 2005-2007. Opaque brotherhood was what personally pulled me back in. I still enjoy the music released during 05-07 just not as much.

Haven’t gone downhill for me (as of yet). There have been there highs and lows for sure. I agree that Hell’s Pit was one of the last “great” albums (as far as ICP goes). Though they’ve yet to put out an album I didn’t like and I think Found is top notch.
Since the end of the sixth, MWAB has to be my favorite release. I find that album perfect in every way. Some other high points album release wise are:
The Calm/Tempest/Eye of the Storm
BPB
WICKED
H&H
Medicine Bag
God’s Hands
Opaque Brotherhood

For me personally, they fell of when hells pit came out. That album was a disappointment to me. Maybe i didnt want the diamond rain to end idk. Could of been cuz i got more into chopped and screwed and other types of artists at that moment in time too. But starting wit hells pit all the way thru the tempest, i just wasn’t excited for the new icp albums. I still peeped their shit out the day it dropped but it was all lacking to me. I still bumped icp everyday, just the old shit, along wit all the other shit i was gettin into at that time. Once bang pow boom came out tho, my spark was light again and havent been disappointed since. Tmml lost had some good songs, but alotta stale ones too. But they definitely skooled the concept of the theme.
As for twiztid i agree wit @ftfo independents day was the last good album for me too. Aside from wicked, that album was a good concept and had some memorable songs on it but for me the songs sometimes put me asleep while i was driving. I need “we dont die” and “buss yo head open” style songs for me while i cruise or work.
Imo i think every1 goes thru a phase during their life where ur just not feeling them as much. But lemme tell u the spark doesnt go out it just gets dim for awhile. Then one day it will burn strong again, trust me.

I think Psychopathic, as a record label, had about a ten year run where they just happened to be very, very active. Since Twiztid left they’ve kind of reverted back to where they were before that run. I don’t think it’s downhill or uphill really. Just different. They’ve kind of went back to that “underground” thing. Not, commercial on MTV “underground” but like, doing things at their own pace and fuck the music industry standard type of “underground”. It just seems different now because that attitude has all but died. Shit, even those dime a dozen Juggalo rappers have an active facebook page where they actively interact with their fans (parents and girlfriends). Psychopathic Records have always done their own thing, it’s just more transparent now that Twizzler are gone.
Other than ICP, most Psychopathic artists are a miss to me so nothing is any different now. ABK usually puts out fun lil albums that make good auditory wallpaper when doing something else and every few years Dark Lotus puts out an album that I can’t stand at first but slowly grows on me.

Twiztid,Upchuck, noted author Nathan Rabin, and countless Juggalos have pinpointed the Gathering in 2011 as a major “zenith” moment for ICP in many ways.
The Psychopathic roster has certainly gotten thin since then. Be great if they pulled something out of their ass like putting Esham back on the label.
Been a little too much Young Wicked all over everything ICP lately, imo. And I’m a big AMB fan.

I enjoy the evolution. Like their old stuff and I like their new stuff. I am glad that they did not get stuck in rut of having the same sound year after year.I am in it for the ride.
This is pretty much how I feel about the music side of things as well.
Parts of Lost and Found have really grown on me- like that track “I’m Sweet” for example. Fuckin dope.

Mud, Water, Air and Blood is a very solid album. I call it magnificent.
“I’m Sweet” is awesome, awesome.
They never fell off. Actually, I was most apprehensive when J chopped the dreads and rocked the red spiked hair with the too-confident grin. I want to punch Monoxide in the spleen.
Turns out I was just young. They morphed and rolled with the punches and are still just as (maybe more) relevant. I love those Clown assholes.
