As Far as Fritz, i think he was good but people saw "gravy boat" and "everybody dies" have the same old fritz bass lines and drums with alot of open space in the beats. it got old after a while. fritz had a ton of good beats in my eyes, im just sayin the day they were released people were not impressed becuz of "mostasteless" and "freek show" being high quality, "green book" seemed to be mixed poorly. but "darkness", "afraid of me", "hom sho bom" the layzie bone track and others are classic twiztid tracks. the E40 collabo was a major let down cuz of the beat fritz or mono made, it was not a track for E40 at all.
And I just respect twiztid for handling the production on "heartbroken and homicidal" They made each beat from the ground up and made some good songs to their beats. "SpiderWebs" bangs! its a ruthless track towards dealing with women. in an era where hip hop is making tons of love songs, twiztid went the whole other way. "Circles" is catchy as fuck! i dont care wat anybody says, that track showed madrox's love for rock music. he has a nitch for making rock choruses and the beat gave him room 4 melodies. same with "set by example". the beats were quality audio wise. u can hear twiztid having linkin park influences with their love for audio FX and vocal FX, they work hard on their editing and final products.
the label always has its ups and downs. Dark Lotus Tales from the Lotus Pod with Marz....violent J was stuck in his "Bizzar Bizzar" Flow like tracks "Mr Happy" during that era, Violent J was kindda like the Bizzare from D12 of the label. On The first Lotus you would have madrox, mono and blaze spittin hard ass verses with rhythm, killin it while violent j would pop up always comical and sayin some out of left field shit instead of focusing on rhythm. check out tracks like "black magic", "swarm", "hurt myself". Then on Dark Lotus "Black Rain" J was back on his rhythm and rhyme game and was shining on that album.

as far as the beats for H&H, its not a hip hop album. its more of a rock influenced record. its not full of club bangers or rap tracks. it was a subject album and the music was the backdrop. where as the new twiztid cd "abominationz" is a ur modern day hip hop album where just like a tech n9ne cd, it has fast hip hop flows and ground breaking beats. i never bought a twiztid CD cuz the beats were dope, it was the overall product,
for example Freek Show. "we dont die" isnt a mind blowing instrumental but it gave twiztid a good platform to work on. twiztids vocals seem 2 over power their choice of beats throughout their career, they make anything they record on work. "mirror mirror" has some of the weirdest production ever by them cuz they were working on Black Majik, it has rock guitars, house basslines, some techno influence but it worked for them, they cooked up "tha world", "for those of you", "watz that"...and "watz that" is the definition of a twiztid song during that era, their hooks never made sense, they just sounded good lol.

J stole the show on "Bitch Im Sexy"....he hit a homerun on that track cuz it was comedy, same with "And We Danced" and "Bad Rep" were perfect for his style in that era. But shit like "Ali Baba" Blaze had one of his best verses ever. I actually think "Ali Baba" and "Headache" are some of the top 20 essentials from psychopathics catalog.

ive said all i need 2 day, i dont wanna come across as a hater, ive been supporiting ICPs music for over 11 years so i have a lot of insight on their music.
this is gonna be a new era we havent experienced while ICP is this big, theyve always had twiztid by there side. we kindda saw the split coming with them never touring or collaborating like they used to during the freekshow era. it got sour in 2004 during the mirror mirror - green book era and now twiztid has left.

Production on Freek Show was completely different from anything anybody was doing with rap music at the time. Like, Freek Show is a mix between Marylin Manson's Antichrist Superstar album and some old school Wumpscut. The rock sound was like Manson and that industrial electronic shit was like Wumpscut. Production was great on that album, like something about the production just makes that album pop and gives it a sound you can't get from anything else.
Production on Mirror/Mirror didn't suck at all, it was still completely fucking fresh, the mixing and mastering just lacked. If Mirror/Mirror was mixed and mastered as well as abominations it would be fresh as fuck.
Production on green book was dope as fuck too. Some songs were a little meh, but still a dope set of beats. Again, the mixing and mastering was lacking.
Now with Heartbroken and Homicidal the production was also phenomenal. The mixing and mastering was better than mirror/mirror and such but that's only because of technology of the time. I hated the mix and master for Set By Example, don't really like that song but it's catchy as fuck. When ever I listen to that album (specifically Circles even though that's when of their best songs imo) I cringe a little because the mastering was a little off. They put too much bass and/or too much low mids or something on that album. Maybe should have made the higher basses lower and the lower basses higher. IDK, not a horribly mastered album, the mastering was very good, I just think it could have been better. Production was completely great though. Spiderwebs, I've Heard Enough, fucking All The Rest, some great production on that album. Apples. I also have a problem with certain vocals on Apples not being high enough during the hook, but still a dope ass song.

I feel ya, i actually think Mirror Mirror is overlooked and under appreciated. Its one of my favorite twiztid albums from start to finish it all blends and the beats are so different. and you said it right, the technology lacked so its not crisp and clear but that doesnt really matter. they were spittin fire on that album.
Freek Show has some really dark production, i loved how the book said it was recorded somewhere in deep dark forest, lol it had that kindda feel. the distortion and bass was perfect for their style, rap rock was huge in that era and they put their own twist on it. i actually like freek show over mostasteless becuz theres only one version of it, and it was released in the way it was suppose to and its perfect.
they set the bar way high, and violent jay said 2 statements that were perfect,..."if i was on twiztids nuts any more id be a condom" haha, he was very pleased when they presented the album 2 the hatchet, violent J was there for "wat the dead like" and "maniac killa" and mono and madrox and fritz did amaizng on the rest of the album without anyones help, and when j said on the rydas ryden dirtay..."With the freekshow bump face twitch in my eye" it was perfect. cuz that CD is very loud and bass filled, its intense.

thats wat made ICP and Twiztids music appealing in the 2000s, they were angry and dark. Their fanbase grew bigtime in 1999 to 2002 cuz NuMetal was in and ICP was almost similar in sound and style, but ICP was more rap oriented and it was a bridging gap for a lot of juggalos who were only into rock music to turn their ear to this new wicked rap style.
i remember in an interview with monoxide where he was talking about freek show and how during that time rap rock was in and him and madrox were sick of seein bands like papa roach not doing it right, so freek show was there take on that late 90s style, but mono said he aint feelin that no more and doesnt wanna repeat that style in the future, almost talkin down on freek show, it was a little weird cuz freek show is their break out album to alot of their fans. but mono said he liked linkin park cuz mike shinoda could rhyme his ass off lol.

twiztid was guilty of this too. alot of people loved their verses on "green book", "for the family" EP, and "Mirror Mirror" but the fans questioned the beats and mixing from fritz, but fritz was dope on freek show cuz they had major label mixing and mastering from island / def jam. once they went indy, fritz and his beats came thru kindda weak, it took twiztid a while to get back on the production tip, and mono did an amazing job on the beats for "heartbroken and homicidal", i couldnt believe most of those were produced by mono.
I am now sober enough to comprehend whats going on in these posts. And I agree with everything you have said tonight except for this one little bit.
I for one, LOVED every single thing about the green book barring the shitty mixing/mastering on white trash with tattoos. For me personally that album is twiztid at their absolute best. I will admit that I am and always will be biased on it because that album and shangri la dropped in the last truly happy period in my life. Many happy memories associated with it. Man when I heard monos second verse on "Afraid of Me" I can remember the cold chills running up my spine. "Can you believe it? But im still alive- and been floatin' since 95-with my chin held high but im so dead inside"
Not just that though, wondering why, the world is hell, u dont wanna be like me, serial killa, fucking marsh lagoon!. For me the production is on point and relevant

man, how opinions change over the years. i agree with what was said about fitz's production to some degree. "freekshow" was the first album on psychopathic to sound different. i love fritz and his music. green book is a fantastic album. just cause music has that lower quality mixing/mastering doesnt mean its bad music. "mirror rorrim" is still an awesome twiztid ep. i feel like "greenbook" was twiztid returning to that polished product.
"tales from the lotus pod" is damn good album and totally outshines "black rain". < i feel it was rushed at a time when twiztid and psy just ended that beef. although i think "opaque brotherhood" is better than "tales..." and came out in 2008 supposedly after icp lost there magic.
icp and twiztid's videos didnt get played on any channels back in the 99/00. they got played on one channel "the box" dammn i miss that channel.
12:10 pm
ya when i said they played icp and twiztid on tv i was reffering to The Box. they even played kmks "peace not greed" and "bump". but mtv did play "lets go all the way" late at nite which was pretty cool 2 see.
I dont hate on "the green book" its a really really good CD, just not as strong as freek show to me. it was a cool era tho. thats when the juggalo music was pumpin out some new classics. i wish there was more promo for it, they had a lot of good songs that should have been singles and had videos.
i wish fritz was still around 2 produce a couple tracks here and there, cuz his sound will always be a trademark of twiztid.

i was listening 2 bizzar today, that track "Behind the paint" remember during the chorus they had icp samples from the news and shit?
its funny when u hear Violent J talkin about "columbine" when they were first being blamed b4 marilyn manson took the fall, Violent J said "hes not gonna aplogize for shit and not change his music" lol how much times have changed, it seems like they are on a campaign to make juggalos seem like a wholesome lovey dovey family lol.
and if the FBI was smart, all they need in court is ABKs "gang related"....once J said "do u wear the hatchetman? ur in a Gang and all that JRB shit lol....some newbies took him literally. i always thought it was just somethin that was him being creative 2 the tracks subject which was gang related.
