I’ve never listened to an audiobook before. I have the Jumpsteady album but have failed to listen to it so far, though I hear it’s pretty cool.
I already read and own Behind the Paint. It’s one of the better books I have read and admittedly this was over a decade ago now, I should read it again. Usually books have a way of escaping me while I’m trying to read. I’m often never focused enough to read and constantly find myself not even remembering what I’ve just read. When I can remember what’s written in a book or what happens in a book, guaranteed that book at the time had an effect on me, or was a big part of my life and I can still remember most.. Well I think most.. Probably like 10% now lol.. of Behind the Paint.. ten years on.

Do we have to listen to the whole thing in reverse?
Also, I’ve been wondering, for those of you who were actually able to purchase the thing. How much was it going for?
How would you get a phone number from playing it in reverse? Its pretty simple to find tho, if your looking for it.
It was 30$

About maybe 7 or 8 years ago I was a security guard working 11pm-7am. Once the club I worked at shut down I was doing nothing for 5 or so hours so I took the opportunity and the time to try and learn a few things. I hit the books pretty hard, mostly fiction and when it hooked me I was fine, but for whatever reason, non fiction hurts. One week I attempted Mein Kampf. I was literally reading the same page 3-5 times and nothing was sinking in. I’d heard good ol’ Addy H was a terrible writer, perhaps that was the problem? Most difficult book by far I’ve tried to read but maybe that’s the thing too. I wasn’t interested in Mein Kampf. I just read it because I thought I should read some historic literature and the only thing I remember from that book were these two words “ardent hatred”, which I’ve also used since. Heh. So I guess a lil something came from it…

Well, what are peoples opinions so far? I was thrown off initially by Violent Js reading style (very high energy but yet still sounding a bit mono?) but it grew on me… I love his high energy and the excitement in his voice. Im currently on Chapter 6 and I’m loving every single second of it! from the sound effects to the stories… its amazing, I rate this sucker a grade A release!! Im moving through it a bit fast… I almost want to slow down a bit and just enjoy it all.
P.S. For anyone wondering, Jumpsteady’s release of the Road is included in this audio book when it comes to that part in the book. IMO, it doesnt really fit the audio book since Jumpsteady’s story telling style is quite different from J’s… but that’s just my opinion.

Speculation has it that their is a hidden easter egg. Its a phone number for a secret hotline, that tells you about a special event held on august 13th. Good luck detectives and see you there.
Is this true or am I really gullible? I went over the packaging like a maniac, looked at the properties for all of the files on the drive, looked at all the info in iTunes once I imported it, called the old old hotline, the newer old hotline and I AIN’T FOUND SHIT.
Can a killa get a small hint?

I dig it so far. Just started listening on my way in to work and am somewhere on chapter 2. J’s reading style took about 10min to grow on me, but I found myself completely sucked in after that.
Did not know Jump did The Road portion, but it makes sense. That’s pretty fresh.
I read very fast so having to actually listen to J’s story is a treat. I find I’m actually picking up on more.

I’m leaning on the gullible side homie, PSY does not do super cool shit like that anymore….Aug 13th is 3 weeks away, and after the GOTJ they have some secret special event….Don’t think so. lol
I guess maybe I was hoping that they would pull some extra old-school freshness with this since they haven’t done it in a while.
This is kinda off topic but can anyone remember when was the last time they did something mysterious like backwards masking shit in songs? I’d much rather find out about the next card by calling some number they put at the end of a sideshow EP or whatever than by it being revealed at Hallowicked.

Im enjoying it tho.
He starts off slow but then he really gets into it. Like hes telling a story and not reading a list.
Im waiting for someone to say this is the best thing Y.W. has ever produced….
Jk but seriously that cat had to sit thru all this like twice maybe more!! That sounds like fucken hard work brother!!!! Or what did he take notes like
“5:12 on chpt 13 make a cow sound”
Or did he just listen afterwords and say “ooh i gotta put a moo sound here”.
Just a thought. Thats alot of homework.
