My review

Intro – sounds like a dark lotus / great milenko intro if that’s what you’re looking for… definitely more of a dark lotus feel, Jumpsteady does the intro so that’s cool as Fuck! – ON A SIDE NOTE: jumpsteady has never released anything disappointing, at least in my opinion, Anyway the beat to the intro is bumpin’ and has some cool background singers jammin’ to the dark beat; sounds good to me

Lost – I’m no fan of Miley Cyrus but she had an album called “bangerz”, I know she doesn’t know shit about Hip Hop, true underground hip hop, ‘Cause if she did she would of called her album “Lame Booty shit” instead of bangerz, anyway, the true definition of a banger to me is a song that Bumps hard as Fuck, and Literally bumps, and that’s what this song does, it bumps!, the bass just booms and booms and booms while violent j raps, I didn’t expect that from him on the first track, but he comes correct with it, I mean he keeps it wicked, even though it’s a simple and slow flow, it’s Dope, at least to me, then 3rd verse kicks and guess who muthafacko? SHAGGY 2 DOPE, shaggy comes in with a dope flow like only shaggy can do, you know!?! – The song really captures the feel of the album. The Chorus reminds me of some Great Milenko type shit but a little bit darker, which is a good thing if you don’t know : )

Apocalypse – cool little intro about drugs or religion or somethin’ I can’t remember, anyway, J Starts ripping a normal flow into some end of the world shit, I was digging it dude! The Chorus seemed strange and long and didn’t rhyme in my first impression, but like I said, it works! There are some repetitive moments which were kind of stale but it’s not too bad. The Beat sounds like something Maybe D.J. paul made for them, maybe some beat off a Killjoy Club reject, but rejected for a good reason, they wanted to save this beat for their jokers card, it’s not too Cool ya know? It’s kind of simple, but it still works, it bumps, it’s funky and kind of dark, and I.C.P. get into it so it works, anyway that’s my goddamn opinion so if you don’t like it fuck the fuuuuuck off Biiiiiitch, beeeeeiiiiitch, Bitch. By the way, the lyrics are Dope, I think a darker funkier remix would be fresh.

Shock – I have to be honest, the chorus didn’t impress me, but everything else is FUCKING DOPE as FUCK!!! Seriously, the beat, the lyrics, this song is sick!, the Beat during the verses is crazy awesome!!! The chorus does grow on me everytime I listen to it, but I think it could have been sicker ( if that even makes sense ), cause the Lyrics are really awesome, I would of loved for them to of made longer crazier verses with more lyrical content, but I Can’t complain ‘cause what’s here is some real wicked shit, seriously, the whole song is dope!, dope as a pound of crack and a pound heroin, just should have had a more lyrical chorus instead of yelling “shock!” so much… haha

Confederate Flag – If I was making a top three songs off the Marvelous Missing Link this would be either number 2 or 3 I can’t decide, it’s definitely one of the most wicked songs I.C.P. has done in a while, it’s all about murdering rednecks, the beat is super sick, dark and funky, and the lyrics don’t disappoint at all, it’s a rap song about murdering racists. What’s the most awesome thing about this song is the Hardcore real Anger and Hatred I.C.P. express in this song, you can tell they ‘re for real pissed off. Another thing that’s dope as Fuck about this song is that it sounds similar to “your rebel flag” from the Carnival of Carnage, so immediately when you listen to it, it takes you back to that old school nostalgia of listening to old school I.C.P., and did I mention the beat is basically perfect, and what Juggalo wouldn’t love hearing Shaggy and Violent J yelling and screaming as loud as they can “Fuck your Rebel Flag!”

Vomit – taking a different stance on this song, negatives and positives…

Negatives, chorus gets repetitive and could have been a little better I think, I.C.P. have kind of a slow flow which I don’t really mind (think too $hort, or eazy-e), but on a dope slow beat like this it would have been hella wicked to Kick a sick-crazy-ass-fast-flow, I think that would of blended in well and had much more of an impact if they could of included a few more bars to each of their verses making shit more wicked with more wicked lyrics, One more Negative, sorry ya’ll, okay, they released this as a single and I think that was a mistake, because I can’t help get this feeling that If I would of heard this song Now instead of earlier it would of fit in better, for some reason hearing this song before the whole album kind of made things… well… weird… I didn’t know what to expect, I think this album is the type of underground wicked shit that doesn’t even need a single or even a song released early, so yeah, I kind of regret bumpin’ this song before I heard the album ‘cause it would of went along great without hearing it before the whole album, bla bla bla you get what I’m sayin’ right? Overall, with that being said, I CAN imagine hearing it for the first time with the album and it’s Dope, it’s a Dope song, it’s a dope beat, Sounds like a Riddle Box or Milenko song if you wanna get old school wit’ it, the Chorus is definitely dope, I wonder why they didn’t get Rich Murrel on this track? ‘cause He would of killed it! But even I.C.P. singing on the chorus just reminded me of Legz so yeah, it’s cool, No Hate, it’s just raw wicked I.C.P., I think with a little more tweaking by Violent J and Shaggy and LEGZ DIAMOND this song could have been much better… still Dope though, still Sick though…. DOPE SICK! Haha! Oh yeah… one more thing… This chorus gets stuck in my head more than any other song on the album which is a Good thing and I love it, so props to I.C.P. for that aspect of this song!

Falling Apart – THE BEST SONG ON THE WHOLE FUCKING ALBUM… okay that pretty much explains how I feel about this song, haha, but let me break it down… First of all, The Beat, holy shit, I don’t know who produced this beat but who ever did knew exactly what type of beat I.C.P. needed, and this is the type of beat is what every critical juggalo was waiting for… wicked, dark, funky, rockin’, everything you would want from an I.C.P. song, like something from Milenko or the amazing jeckel brothers, dude this beat is probably the best I.C.P. beat I’ve heard in a very long time, okay, I’m going to stop ranting about the beat now ‘cause Honestly I could ramble on all day about how dope this beat was, one more thing though! What makes this beat even More dope is that Violent J kicks a perfect fucking rap to this shit… the song is about, well, “falling apart”, literally, kind of reminds me of “guts on the ceiling” in a strange awesome way, but it’s dark, and has a subliminal message behind it, at least to me it does, this song to me is about falling apart mentally, ‘cause I have been there, I have felt like my whole life is falling apart including my health, along with my personal life, my social life, my love life, everything, this song just hits hard, the beat switches up during the chorus to a hard hitting rock beat with singing but it’s Really really fucking dope, the type of shit we love from I.C.P., Man, I think this song gets really deep into violent j’s personal mind-state, I think there are several different ways you can analyze this song or you can just Jam the fuck out to it and rock out with your wang out, I honestly think this is the the type of I.C.P. song that they should do a single to, ‘cause I think it would be more well received by the mainstream than something like “Miracles”, although it is kind of dark, I honestly think more people would understand this song than “Miracles” maybe not, maybe I’m the only motherfucker who understands this song, I think there’s One last thing about this song that makes it the ultra super cool super fresh dope as wiggity-wicked ass most-awesome best song of the album, the fact that all of us Old Juggalos are getting old, we are experiencing old age as we live and are slowly basically dying off and experiencing what life is like for old people as they live out the rest of their lives, that’s us now! When we started listening to I.C.P. the majority of us weren’t already in our old age So this song To me, kind of touches on that subject of just aging and getting old, experiencing health problems and whatnot, although they don’t necessarily rap about it like that, Violent J delivers his most sincere raps on this album I feel because in real life dying is wicked, it’s real life, and I can feel that shit, if that makes sense, anyway, on a more comical note, the song is funny if you’re just trying to have a laugh too… ‘cause you can look at it like a zombie song too or somethin’, you know, you’re dying, you’re falling apart, it’s just A Dope song with dope wicked lyrics about your body parts falling off and dying so to me, this song has every aspect of what a Dope ass I.C.P. should be and to me is the best on the whole album. Dope Beat, dope Chorus, I just wish shaggy would of kicked a verse ‘cause I know it would have been devastating, regardless, like I said to me, this is by far, the best fucking song on the whole marvelous Missing Link album. (and I’ve been bumpin’ this shit on repeat like a motherfucker)

How – man, what the Fuck, if you wanted some New I.C.P. shit on some dark religious contemplation – is god real? Shit… then this is it. This song reminds me of “where’s god?” but gets even a little bit darker with this hella crazy r&b chorus from … you know who… YOUNG WICKED… at least I think that’s Otis… man who would of thought Otis from A.M.B. would fit in perfectly with an I.C.P. chorus but that young wicked motherfucker has chops! I can’t deny it that dude can sing his ass off, I was never an A.M.B. hater I always dug their shit, I think I was even hoping they won during their psychopathic contest with Playaz Lounge Crew, I never voted during that internet contest but now I’m fucking stoked A.M.B. won, ‘cause they have proved to take the underground juggalo rap shit to a new level, and Otis a.k.a. “young wicked” on the chorus doesn’t disappoint, dude sounds like a professional R&B singer or some shit, so of course he delivers on the chorus, man, all I got to say is, They pull it off. They managed to make a song about Faith and being well… Lost, without even mentioning that shit, I just feel “Lost” when I listen to this shit, and of course it strikes me and hits me hella hard being a juggalo, ‘cause I have always felt Violent J & Shaggy were speaking to me through their albums, but anyway, enough about that, the beat doesn’t sound wicked but the lyrics get you thinking about death, religion, all sorts of shit, I just got to say this song is different, Different from anything I’ve ever heard, which is a good thing. I.C.P. really have something unique here with this song and this album, this song definitely will have people thinking, if they actually listen to the lyrics. Overall.. yeah, Dope song. Crazy kind of weird beat, but Yeah Hella Dope song.

Explosives: Bumpin’ ass beat, Lyrics coincide with the beat perfectly, however, it seems kind of slow, for some reason I was expecting fast darker shit than this, To me this song; for some reason, doesn’t really stand out at all… the lyrics are cool enough it’s just I kind of want I.C.P. to bust something sicker than what they did on a beat like this, I mean, They should be having friendly competition with other horrorcore artists with their status, like Brotha Lynch Hung, twiztid, you know, they should of made the song more detailed with the beats and the lyrics, ‘cause a title like “explosives” could have been some really cool serial killer shit for I.C.P., however, this song kind of doesn’t deliver that Wicked Shit that you would expect from a demented freak clown, to be honest, the song kind of feels rushed, when I think they had the potential to make it really Wicked, it could have been better, enough said.

I’ll keep My Hatchet: I thought this song was going to be sort of like “psychopathic” off carnival of carnage, or “night of the axe”, or… ugh… yeah I don’t know what I was thinking…maybe I was thinking this song would have been more Violent, more ruthless, more bloody, It kind of turned out to be just a dedication to a hatchet while also giving love to all sorts of Guns, I think they could have done a more ruthless serial killer type song with the beat and a title like this, ‘cause the beat is Dope, the title of the song is dope, I just expected something more about killing people with hatchets hahaha, whatever, it is what it is… Dope beat, lots of gun shots, why not more lyrics about hacking up bigots with meat cleavers though? This song isn’t that good, still Fresh for what it is but it could have been a lot better in my opinion.

Neighbors Are Fighting – okay, yeah it sounds like something off of the Killjoy Club. (with that being said, I loved the Killjoy Club for what it was, although the name of the group and album title could have been cooler haha, but that’s besides the point), this is Kind of a repetitive chorus. I.C.P. why are you trying to do chorus’s like ‘new school’ era Three 6 Mafia? It’s ugh…. Whatever… very repetitive. The Ninja stuff at the end was the coolest!

You Should Know – This song is a Love song, the type of love song that only I.C.P. can deliver, the beat is kind of this weird “ I wanna confess to you baby, I love you “ type of dark wicked beat, only straight up wicked clown style… I think most ninjas will hate this song, but I can relate to this, maybe that speaks volumes about me, maybe I’m just a wicked ninja, yeah, this song makes me feel bad about being a playa when I was datin’ all my ex-girlfriends, makes me think I should of treated them better, ‘cause yeah, I really loved every girl I was ever with, So with that being said; I guess this song did have a massive effect on me, ‘cause it’s so real and so true to How I have lived in the past, the beat is ughhh… I don’t know, it’s not bad, it’s definitely cool, in a weird way though haha it’s a crazy song that brings (at least to me) feelings of remorse, and just straight up wickedness, as much as I hate to say this about this song it’s one of my favorites, I think strictly because of the lyrics I relate to so much.

FlameThrower – the beat’s dope, let me just say that Right off the …ughh… boat? Bat??? Right off the whatever the fuck The Beat is sick… the lyrics are Cool too, simple story telling like Only the wicked serial killer clowns do. Violent J and shaggy are murdering rednecks with a fucking flamethrower. The chorus is Dope too, the cuts and the lyrics to the chorus are dope, but in the background are they sining “Gasoline….” I think they are…? I don’t know why but it doesn’t feel right to me, Like they should of added more to the Chorus, it sounds repetitive, the “we don’t need no water let the motherfucker burn” part is Dope as fuck though, I think The last verses of the song are the best, both Shaggy and J rap about killing racists in detail that I’m not going to go into, ‘cause you should just listen to it. It’s a dark wicked dope Funky beat but I.C.P. rapping over a beat like this I think I kind of just expected something even more sinister and wicked… anyway yeah still cool though, but could have been a little darker in my opinion if they just put a little bit more effort into the chorus

I See The Devil: Definitely one of the best fucking songs I.C.P. did for this album in my opinon, it’s either the second or third best song on the whole album, the song itself has a whole lot of meaning for someone like me, someone living a very wicked lifestyle, you can really understand where the lyrics are coming from, Wicked Shit, devil shit, it’s like when you do some really wicked shit That’s the Devil, you can see the Devil when you do wicked shit, when you’re living that Wicked life you see the Devil in your wicked ways, at least that’s what I got from it, the beat and chorus are insanely Cool ‘cause I dig what they’re saying on an unconscious and also personal level, but you can also take the lyrics literally and they’re just as dope. The lyrics during the verses are just the absolute worst horrible shit you can do to people, so I.C.P. are definitely trying to convey some subliminal message which to me is the Shit, kind of reminds me of the song “behind the paint” in a very crazy strange way…. Now the beat… the Beat is hahahaha, very different, very Dope though in my opinion, it’s dark, but also really funky, in fact it’s more funky than dark, but when it comes to I.C.P. they have always combined dark vibes with funky beats and they have blended well together, the last thing I’ll say about this song that makes it Fucking awesome is Young Wicked on the chorus, dude is singing his young wicked heart out Haha!,  he doesn’t even sound like Otis from A.M.B., he sounds like some 80’s R&B singer or somethin’, it’s crazy, anyway I’m digging how he rips the shit, I would of never expected Otis (young wicked) to ever come with this shit on a fucking I.C.P. album out of everything haha, it’s just crazy, dude just seems like he has a natural chemistry with I.C.P. that flows fucking perfectly, he almost sounds like a young violent j to me, if a young violent j could sing… haha… anyway weather that was Young Wicked or not it was Dope, that chorus was dope, the beat was dope, And the lyrics to the song were Dope like 600 gallons of P.C.P. water and a fully loaded crack pipe. Anywho… I see the Devil… I see the Devil in this goddamn I.C.P. review, why???!!!?! Why!!! Why!!!!

Overall… I think this is probably my favorite Insane Clown Posse album I have heard since the 6th Jokers Card Hell’s Pit and I can’t wait to listen to the Found missing link. Well, Peace juggalos & Juggalettes

Excuse me while I go listen to “falling apart” again…

Still probably going to wait until I buy the album before I listen to it. Going to get Dark Sky Paradise too. I also still need to listen to that new Tyler, the Creator album.

Also, hail Satan. Hail Satan as hard as you can.

Now that people are starting to receive their copies of The Marvelous Missing Link (Lost) I think it would be fun for people to share what they think. I was hoping that everyone who responds to this could have a short yet detailed opinion of each song and possibly use a 1-10/10 rating scale. It’s so much better than seeing “this sucxzz” & “fukin luvd it!”. I’ll begin but I’d love to see well thought out opinions from the fam.

Disclaimer: Opinions are like assholes. Here’s mine. My opinion, not my asshole (that’s probably on a different site…). I hope this get’s you excited for the new album and maybe help’s you see it from a different perspective that you may not have thought about otherwise. I would love to see all of yours (Opinions, ninjas….). Like I said above, it’s really interesting to hear other perspectives from Juggalos because a lot of us have no one to get geeked and discuss this type of stuff with. So let’s try not to fill the thread with hate. You can TOTALLY ‘dislike’ the album, but giving examples why helps us open our perspective as well, instead of just thinking you’re a prick.

1. Intro 6/10

The album begins with an ambient yet isolated chant of “The Marvelous Missing Link”. Jumpsteady enters and prompts the message of TMML. It seems to keep saying the same idea/message but slightly changing the words around which may become a bit repetitive but as an Intro it’s appropriate enough. ‘Dark’ isn’t the correct term here. ‘Desolate’ may be a better suited term to describe the feel of where the album is taking us. Not one of the best intros but certainly sets the ambiance.

2. Lost 7/10

You can feel the frustration in Violent J’s voice. He has a message. He’s been telling it for too long to deaf it and now he’s going to make sure he’s heard. It’s personal, it’s real, and it only gets followed up by a powerful verse from Shaggy. The anger hits a wall and transitions into a defeated sounding chorus. Not to say the chorus is defeated. Their tone shifts as if they’re defeated. Truly capturing the aspect of being “Lost”. This one is a ‘grower’ for sure, but the more you listen the ore nuances you’ll discover.

3. Apocalypse 8/10

Listen to this one up loud. It’s a manic storytelling of the end of days but not through the typical humorous lens ICP is known for. An interesting take they chose was how human kind would react to catastrophes. They will set up the scene but really lay more focus on the unmerciful acts of mankind in times of tragedy. Throw in an uptempo beat (somewhat reminiscent of ‘They Shootin’ from FTFO2) and drop the bass for the chorus and you have a certified banger for concerts.

4. Shock 7/10

The album shifts gears and takes us through the mind of someone struggling with both substance abuse and mental anguish. It took a few listens to try to grasp what was happening. It seemed all over the place at first, however, after a few listens I realized that the song itself actually embodies a physical response to what the character is experiencing. Disoriented, fragmented, and just trying to paste it all together while finding the next fix. Short but fun and although it’s not lighthearted or humorous per se, it’s the lightest this album will get so enjoy it.

5. Confederate Flag 7/10

With all of the social commentary regarding racial bigotry and hatred in the last few years, this feels not only appropriate but welcomed. Although the subject matter is the same as Rebel Flag from Carnival of Carnage, the sound and feel is completely different. It feels more true to heart than Rebel Flag. As if the curtain was pulled aside and the gimmicks were wiped away to show the true detest of this vile form of mankind. The theme of racism, bigotry, and crooked law enforcement plays a bigger role on this album than it has in a while. It’s hard to explain, but I’ll try… When you listen to “Terrible” off AJB it feels true and real from Joe & Joey. When you listen to “Chicken Huntin” the message is still the same but it sounds like it’s coming more from the clowns, Violent J & Shaggy. I’ve talked myself into a corner… Look over there! *Dashes off*

6. Vomit 8/10

This has an original feel to it while still somehow making it sound like the old acid rap catalogs from HOK/Esham/etc. The story tells us of the despicable human beings who shunned and manipulated loved ones to further their own selfish needs. These types of people deserve a whole separate kind of justice. No slicing their throats, no chopped up with axe fates for these abominations. These souls took those closest to them and hurt them in a way physical pain never could. What’s more fitting than having your soul pulled forcibly down to the depths of hell only to be greeted by Beelzebub himself. The very sight of you makes the devil himself want to vomit… so he does… right on your face. The chant at the end reminds me of the Hell’s Pit era when the website had “Throw your hands in the air, if you don’t care, that it’s fucking raining blood everywhere!” on a loop (later released for Bodies Fly on FF4). I can see this being great for shows with an extra bass boost.

7. Falling Apart 8/10

ICP gives us a ballad about a man’s personal hell of falling apart piece by piece. Feeling every ounce of anguish and pain but never feeling the release of death. The chorus is catchy and shows the character’s confusion, fear, and frustration. The song sounds very familiar to Violent J’s “Dead Man Walking” from Let Em Bleed: Vol.2 but with a stronger narrative and emotion to paint the picture for the listener. The music is a steady flow that comes to a swell on the chorus. The chorus sounds like a more familiar ICP tune than the rest of the album all while still keeping that gritty feel. Sure to be a fan favorite for some.

8. How 7/10

I’ve been listening to ICP since 1998 and have read every interview, article, and book they’ve released. This song explores personal topics that they’ve yet to explore in past endeavors. Some of their examples are true while others are truly genuine fears and concerns they’ve asked themselves for years. This song is probably the most synonymous with the Lost Missing Link storyline. True fears and concerns from what very much sounds like Joe, Joey, J, and Shaggy which is rare. Young Wicked sings the chorus and the boy has some chops. Even if this type of chorus isn’t your cup of tea you have to appreciate that they have a talented singer on the roster. Between his skills on the boards, his writing, and his voice he gives hope for the future of Psychopathic Records. This song is a grower though. Give it a few listens.

9. Explosions 9/10

This song looks like it would be a blast at concerts. High energy beat, lyrics that coincide with a hard bass drop, and a steady swaying undertone that would compliment crowd serving perfectly. The lyrics actually talk about the characters they’re portraying to be the despised and vile ones. The type to hide in a basement and make explosives to hurt the innocent. They ask “what drives a man to commit these atrocities?” and ends with the man falling with his chest exploded out, feeling down, and never knowing why. It’s a strong message that goes into the psyche of a man who is lost and expresses it through this outlet of explosives. The chorus is catchy and the verses are easy to nod your head to.

10. I’ll Keep My Hatchet 6/10

This song is reminiscent of “I’m Dead” from the original Violent J Solo CD from The Gathering. They list off a series of weapons that don’t compare to their weapon of choice, the hatchet. Unfortunately, I don’t see this having a HUGE replay value and is one of the first songs to sort of step out of the mold the rest of the album was presenting. Violent J’s voice also resorts back to his strained Mighty Death Pop tone. Some may very well enjoy it, but I typically skip songs that don’t raise the stakes in their verses. This song starts at one level and remains there for the duration. The ending has a cool industrial sounding scratching portion though.

11. The Neighbors Are Fighting 4/10

‘The Neighbors Are Fighting’ is way too similar to the tone of ‘I’ll Keep My Hatchet’. So much so that I didn’t notice it changed songs while listening through the album twice in a row. Without the beginning dialogue talking about neighbors fighting I wouldn’t have any context clues what this song is about at all. They never discuss neighbors or why they’re fighting with them at all. I also am unsure if J & Shaggy are the two neighbors battling each other or they’re telling us what they’ll do to their neighbors. The song (just like I’ll Keep My Hatchet) keeps the same level the entire time and just lists off what they’ll do to their neighbors. It’s fun to listen to for a bit and it certainly isn’t bad by any means, but it’s hardly memorable. I can’t stress enough how frustrating the lack of context is in this song. It could’ve literally been called ANYTHING and still have the same message which is not a good thing. We could call it “I’ll Kill You”, “Beat Yo Ass”, “Beat Down By A Street Clown”, “Fist Fight”…It wouldn’t matter or change a single thing in the song. If it’s that indiscernible than it doesn’t stand a great chance of withstanding the test of time.

12. You Should Know 9/10

I know a lot of you older Juggalos may have found love and settled down. This song may hit pretty close to home for some things. Maybe not as exaggerated as J’s character but as far as not being the Mr. Right they might have thought you were or having some skeletons that you could never tell them in fear that you’d skew the image you worked so hard to obtain in their eyes. ‘You Should Know’ is about a man who plays mind games and has been manipulating his love in the worst of ways. He’s repenting his actions and coming clean once and for all, but no matter how sorry he is, he’s the monster and is now realizing it. It feels like a combo between ‘Gone’ (unreleased track. Youtube it. It’s great.) & ‘Bitch I Lied’ but a lot more personal and true. It may strike true for a lot of you Juggalos as well. The realness of his examples make each listen even more rewarding than the last. Excellent effort put in on this one. Proof that J can still be direct about personal subject matter while still staying true to his wicked clown persona. More like that, please!

13. Flamethrower 10/10

This song had it all for me. It felt eerie. The tone was uncomfortable but so catchy. The descriptive story played out so vividly and didn’t feel forced. It wasn’t like “Night of the Axe/Chainsaw/44”. It wasn’t a mad man running around without a purpose, but to kill (love those songs, but I’m proving a point here…). These two characters had an objective and would follow through by any means necessary. The chorus makes you feel as if you’re in a trance and then drops a heavy bass beat. All I can compare it to is when an action star tosses a lighter behind him and walks towards the camera as the building explodes. It’s slow and methodical. I can’t stress this enough…IT DIDN’T FEEL FORCED! It was like the young Wicked Clowns who were still hungry and angry came back for one last ride. Not to say the new stuff isn’t great or deserves merit. It’s just different (and that’s okay, Juggalos!). The song also ends with the main characters not receiving their happy ending. A powerful trait most exercised in the Hell’s Pit days where our heroes don’t always come out on top, but it makes the narrative that much more real. Give this one a chance. Made me feel 11 years old again when listening to a group called Insane Clown Posse made me a little scared, but way more excited and on the edge of my seat.

14. I See The Devil 8/10

This song tries to bring the message of the Marvelous Missing Link home while still remaining gritty and relate-able to the Juggalos. Young Wicked brings the vocals on the chorus again. Don’t mistake singing for softness. They build up the track every time they hit the chorus to boost the power behind the message. This is the difference between a memorable track and a forgettable one that just stays on one level the entire time. Every line they raise the stakes and it pays off. I can imagine it’s difficult to discuss faith and religion while being in character as a wicked clown and still trying to fit the gritty and isolated feel of the album, but I think they pull it off nicely.

OVERALL: This album doesn’t feel like a typical Joker’s Card AND I FIND IT REFRESHING. We are now on the 3rd Card of the Second Deck and however you feel about that decision it doesn’t change the outcome of the work put into the projects. They didn’t come out and tell us it’s going to sound like their old stuff like Bang!Pow!Boom!. They didn’t say they wanted to explore new territory with music they’ve been playing with for a bit like Mighty Death Pop!. They said they had a story to tell and they took a whole separate path than they’ve used past. They had a lot of original ideas/messages and they also strengthened old themes with stronger beats and lyrics. The point is after all these years the Insane Clown Posse is still putting out new styles of music, and while exploring new depths, keeping it close to home for the family. It took me a few listens to appreciate what this album is. My brain tried to rationalize it and question WHY it wasn’t a certain way, but that’s a somewhat ignorant way to view new material. When I finally allowed myself to view it as the piece of music it WAS instead of what I was thinking it their catalog resembled in the past I REALLY enjoyed this album. It’s NOT Hell’s Pit. It’s NOT Ringmaster. It’s NOT Riddlebox. It has become it’s own entity, The Marvelous Missing Link.

And his era begins now…

That’s what I meant to say this whole time. I didn’t like the “EDM” style they did, with the bass. But then again I hate EDM. If they didn’t do that this cd would be 10/10. Right now it’s 7/10 for me but still dope. 100x better than BPB and MDP.
