Only one side for you because for you, the pandemic is real. Maybe you or people you know have been affected by this. If so, then it is very real for you. 

For others, it is not. For some, if it was not for the media constantly talking about it, they would not have even known there was a "pandemic".  But living in Texas may help with that since we have restricted what the Federal Government is allowed to enforce within the state.  Without all the mandates restricting freedoms, people haven't really noticed any difference.  For me, if a pandemic is so deadly it requires a constant media blitz just to know it even exists, then it doesn't really seem like it's that big of a deal. 

For context, in Harris County (where I live) the stats for premature death (defined as "life lost before age 75 per 100,000 population") for the past several years:  2018 - 6,660; 2019 - 6,600; 2020 - 6,500; 2021 - 6,400. It has dropped year over year and the trend line matches the trend since 2012.  Now while the premature 2021 stats were published, the total deaths data for Harris for 2021 were not published in that dataset. (The roadmap says the data will be published around the 2nd quarter) so I'll have to come back to that one but if it matches the trend from 2019 and 2020, which is what is predicted, then it is likely to be lower too based on the what was published already for the premature death stats.

When everything around me shows no effect from the "pandemic" in a place where many have not done any mandated anything, I find it hard to justify throwing into the whole "pandemic" thing. Of course that could change if I starting seeing effects around me. The past two years have not personally shown me anything like that though.   

This is literally the "argument from ignorance" with extra steps. The availability heuristic, half a dozen cognitive biases... none of that counters basic knowledge of epidemiology.

It's ridiculous that people attempt to extrapolate from ignorance, as if ignorance was a source of knowledge.

The data and explanations for why it's called a pandemic have been on the CDC website since 2020.

Psyral has a weird fallacious "middle-man" "everything is a harmless opinion" mindset, which has convinced me they've been diagnosed with some mental illness related to disconnecting from reality. I'm not saying that to be dismissive; I've worked in mental health and I'd often come across people that would commit atrocious acts and they would describe their actions and the outcome as "not a big deal". We label that as "blunting" in mental health. The other option is the inability to comprehend what is wrong with the argument to moderation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_to_moderation). I mean, people are dying and mainstream science is completely on one side of this, but their reaction is a blunted anchoring to a middle ground.

I wouldn't even say anything back to you if you literally said "it's my choice I don't agree with it" but it's the fact you either go insane or play your troll character and start getting tinfoil hat theories.. the fact you need to go off on such wild tangents is either because you're trolling, you're mentally ill or blind drunk or high and well probably never know which one.
