The same argument could be made for choosing religions, careers, cultures, etc. If people are determined as capable of being devoted parents wouldn't a system that would stop them for any reason be corrupt?

So let's get rid of parents all together. Too much potential for parental influence. School teachers too. And coaches.

your missing the point.  children should have influences. but in order for a child to grow, expand and learn life... they need a mother and father. not dad, and dad... or mother and mother.

I don't know If your born that way or if its a chosen path.  i do know that these days, a lot of people experiment, which is cool as long as your matured in life, and understand right and wrong... not like a child

my only thing is, and forgive me if im being ignorant,   but I don't think a gay couple should be raising a kid. that puts that kid up for humiliation in school, as not everyone is acceptant of it, and It could influence the child to be gay aswell, not that theres anything wrong with being gay, but they need to make that decision on their own, not see it and think its normal.

i wholeheartedly disagree, like really really disagree. a parent is a parent. regardless of sex. i would rather see a kid in the home of a loving family (lets say a gay couple in this instance) who teaches tehm good moral values etc, than a kid who goes to a group home and has to grow up without any real parental figures.... oor a family where daddy love taps mummy because she forgot to pick up beer at the shops.

i 100% support anyone who wants to have kids for the right reasons having kids. personally i still dont know if i want any, i doubt id make a very good parent. but if someone wants kids and is willing to put in the hard yards, let em. and a family who has to work harder to get said kids will appreciate them alot more in my opinion.

allowing gay people to adopt (im going to skip over the who iv bit here) would also reduce the numer of orphans in the country/world, which is never a bad thing.

marriage is usually a horrible position to be in ..from what I've seen and done

for the first part, this has pretty much been my argument for gay getting married. why do they get a free pass? let them get married and be miserable like the rest of us.

secondly, while i understand youve had a pretty shitty run of it, and ALOT of people do because they get married for the wrong reasons (drunk/shotgun wedding/pregnant/boredom), but if its that hard, get divorced. you might lose half/most of your shit, but you get to start fresh adn your life will be better for it. and so will your kids. a broken home is better then a hate filled one.

Sean seems to value traditional thinking, so maybe all those old people in Florida are rubbing off. I hope not, or he'll be spending his future in an open bathrobe screaming 'get off my lawn.'
