I think the police are at fault here, but rioting, looting, and destroying the community doesn’t help anything. They should be at the police station protesting, not destroying the community that had nothing to do with the crime.
I agree

In places where cops do have to wear should cams, there is less violence towards individuals in general, so I would support that.
I think every cop everywhere should have a camera on their badge. I however had no idea they were actually doing it anywhere.
Ive always wanted there to be a riot in my city Id make a shopping list with the crew and go hit chain stores who insure their merch against catastrophes. My grocery store’s inventory is insured against pretty much whatever I imagine Wallmart and Best Buy’s merchandise is as well. Looting Mom&Pop shops is no beuno however.

Everyone wants to run their mouths when big shit like this goes down, everyone wants to make cops like bad. The cops have an obvious reason to lie too, but I’ll trust the cop over the “eye witness” any day. Yeah sure I’m biased, I won’t try and argue that, but growing up around cops I like to think I have more insight into situations like these and assuming that insight is exists at all I would definitely say this probably aint the cops fault.
and this, is why you have the viewpoint you have. that you know this much is a good sign, but it would be better if you recognized that it clouds the hell out of your judgment.
Why hasn’t it been made a national law for cops to wear chest/shoulder cams yet? Shit would clear this stuff up so much more.
because far too many people trust the cops over ‘the witness’ any day.
you have to be inherently mistrustful of the police. eternal vigilance, and all that.
the police work for the state, not the people. they are our natural enemy, unless they are controlled.
and these days, they are gettin out of control.

When an eyewitness account lines up with Brown’s Friend’s account and completely contradicts the police officers’, and for SOME reason the police don’t even want to interview him for their investigation, I would say it is likely they have something to hide.
According to PBS the FBI confirmed it is reviewing the incident for possible civil rights violations, so now it goes beyond the local police. Oh, and FUCK THE FBI.

@barocko-jenkings i have no hate in my heart towards any race. I do hate individuals. Most of them are Caucasian, not that that means anything, its simply how it turned out. The only black men I hate are the man who ran over my brother after drinking, taking his life, and didn’t even spend the night in jail. Another black man I hate is the worthless jock that broke my brother’s jaw for absolutely no reason other than to be a dick. My brother couldn’t pay for his surgery, and had wisdom teeth coming in, and had to spend the last few months of his life in unbearable pain. There are two black southerners that I hate for their heartless and ignorant comments on who goes to hell and who doesn’t. . . So if I can live my life after those four evil black men affecting my life in the harshest way possible, and still not be a blind racist against the rest of black people, do you still think that I have racial hate in my heart? Do you? If the man who killed my brother was white or fucking Eskimo, I am intelligent and compassionate enough to not blame their entire race on their evil deeds. There is also no “cycle of hate” in my family. My father is an asshole but he never taught me any racism. People are individuals. I’d say more but I can’t at this time. Eat shit for insinuating I have blind hate. If you were referring to me, maybe you weren’t. In that case, the same applies anyway.

I never thought u hated black folks for u I jus questiond the whole don’t destroy the neighborhood during riots remark.. all my race comment are point squarely at the kid tha said all blacks do is riot whne they feel slighted
In that case, you guys argue on. I’m out lol.
One thing though, Lucky and I were basically saying if there was some shred of organization sensibility in a riot, the rioters wouldn’t destroy their own neighbor’s businesses out of respect. Why should black rioters destroy black owned family businesses? Its nonsensical. But a riot is pretty much a peaceful protest minus the peace. So anything goes. The picket sign becomes a Molotov cocktail.

I think yall glazed over what lucem was trying to say. This isnt even about race, really. From
what ive gathered the police acted over aggressive like they are prone to do. Riot ensues. Nobody is in the right here. Yall are arguing over semantics and its like the victim gets lost in the mix somehow. Aint that how it goes though? How many mass shooters can you name? How many victims names do you remember? You dont have to answer that aloud. We need to remember that a life was lost and skin color didnt make a damn bit of difference. To me anyways.

A really disheartening series of events have been unfolding over the last two days in Ferguson, Mo. 18 year old Michael Brown was shot and killed by police incident that has not been clearly explained. In response to the death of this young man protesters and demonstrators began to gather yesterday evening. Looting and destruction of area businesses began last night. Area businesses have closed early tonight. Police are dispensing tear gas on the highway to keep demonstrators from flooding the streets of Ferguson. My heart aches for the family of Michael Brown and the people of Ferguson. The looting and destruction makes me feel uneasy. I understand that emotions are high, but this destruction is solving nothing. This seems like a replay of another time in history. Similar events occurred in 1992 following the brutal beating of .So, every time Black People Riot, we must bring up Rodney King?
“We” don’t have to bring up Rodney King; I have to bring up Rodney King. Criticize me if you must. I was three years old when those events occurred.I had heard of Rodney King, but since I live in a predominantly Caucasian area no one ever cared to tell me what happened. I thought he was involved in the Civil Rights movement. It is sad that I went so many years without hearing his story. I learned more about it after reading Smoky Night by Eve Bunting for a children’s literature course. I suggest that anyone that is struggling to explain these events to their children get this book.

Again, there is absolutely no justification for stealing luxury goods. The message was lost, and now they look exactly like the stereotype they were protesting against.
If theres a riot for whatever reason im going in on luxury goods (except maybe food/supplies if its panic mode apocolypse typa situation) from chain stores in my area. I don’t care what the reason is so I gives no fuck about the social message being conveyed…I just want better stuff then what I have. If I could walk into Best Buy today fill my cart up and not pay and just roll out without consequence why wouldn’t I.

It has everything to do with race. You think if the cop had shot a white dude it would’ve made national news, much less incited riots? Fuck no. I will agree it’s sad none the less.

Lucem (Just An Asshole) Ferre said *snip*
Kid wasn’t innocent. He want for the dude’s gun while they were fighting. That gives a cop, or anyone, a legal right to shoot you. “But 8 times? 8 times?!” if you shoot someone you shoot them til theyre dead. Of course, you probably believe the version of the story that he was surrendering and he got shot for no reason. Just like you believed the version of the story where treyvon was the innocent victim. You know who the victims are? People defending themselves because some punk kid wants to buck up and try to act hard. People getting their homes businesses and property wrecked and burned because somehow people think doing that will bring this kid back to life. The cops who are only doing their jobs getting attacked when they had nothing to do with this. Not this kid who got what was coming to him. It’s sad it had to happen. But sadder still that anyone thinks the reaction of the public is remotely justified.
It was proven that Treyvon was followed and shot. The phone call is the proof. That is the fact. He followed Treyvon, after being told not to, and then he shot and killed Treyvon. What happened between when he was told not to follow Treyvon and when he shot Treyvon is unknown but the fact is that he followed Treyvon and shot Treyvon. Though, I highly doubt an unarmed teen could do anything dangerous enough to a full grown man to warrant getting shot. Regardless, until somebody could 100% prove that he deserved it then he is the victim in my book.
Now, you claimed that Treyvon walked up and started shit. YOU had really fucked up claims that were so far from the truth that I wonder where in the fuck you found them. Like, there was no car it was him following Treyvon on foot.
With this, the cop claims that he went for his gun. Cops are fucking liars, especially when their jobs are on the line. Do some research and you’d know that. Cops kill people all the fucking time and lie about it all the time. The witnesses say different. Personally I trust witnesses over lying ass murderer cops. Even then, you don’t shoot to kill. You shoot to make sure they are no longer a threat. Shoot him in the knee and I bet he will no longer go for the gun.
That kid was a victim, just like Treyvon was. I don’t know how you could defend this.
That being said I will put my two cents in on the riot it’s self. The riot got out of control on a ridiculous level. Like, I understand the protest. It isn’t just about that one kid, it’s an on going issue of cops killing people. Of course the media is focusing on all the black people, but cops are killing many people. They are killing many people and then getting away with it by pulling this type of bullshit. I also understand why it got violent emotions start to flare and such. But looting the liquor store and driving off to go party? Like, what the fuck is up with that? You aren’t standing for anything anymore. You are just getting violent and breaking shit because you want to have fun. What at first I thought was a great thing, has suddenly become a fucking joke.
And since, I saw your last reply, I agree. Anything that has to do with the NAACP is a fucking joke and actually is a bunch of black people who think that they can speak for ever black person trying to pull the race card any chance they can get just to make this country feel as though it owes them something.

i personally believe zimmerman didnt shoot martin cuz he was black, but more so he was a power trippin neighborhood watchmen that took his duties too setiously. he shouldent of followed him, but he did anyways. they had a confrontation and georgey poo was getting his ass beat. he claims his head was being bashed into the ground, which was technically a deadly weapon. thats when he claims dude felt the gun, and went for it., and zimmer shot in self defense. i watched every minute of the trial, and regardless of opinions, you can only go by witness testimony and evidence.
but i dont think zimmerman is a racist. he has since been in trouble 3 more times since then too. lol.he feels he is invincable, but it will catch up to him.
you cant simmer the zimmet
I'll fuck you till you love me, Faggot!
