@Scruffy You down.  You are Uncle Faygoluver as @sexylette420 coined so elequently about a year ago.  I gotta get this money gone and donated soon before I spend it on shit I don’t need.

So nice of you guys to do this for him! I’ve got $20 on it, when everything gets organized.

A teacher from my high school recently lost everything in a house fire, and the alumni association used Crowdtilt to collect money for him. It’s kind of like making a pledge, but you don’t actually have to pay the money unless a minimum amount of pledges are made. Like in this case, you could set up a Crowdtilt event for, say, $1000. Anyone who wants to donate would tell the website how much they are willing to put toward it. At the point when you have pledges equaling $1000 or more, everyone’s cards are charged, and he gets the money. If you didn’t reach $1000, no one would be charged (on the premise that if you don’t make enough money to get him there, he doesn’t get any money since he isn’t going). It worked well.

I think this might be a good idea

scottied also said to look at crowdtilt.

indiegogo semed like it had some restrictions that could cause issues, i plan to look at crowdtilt this weekend.  unless sleep deprivation becomes a more serious problem between now and then…

i dont mind being the club treasurer or whatever, with full faith guarantee etc etc.  i knew that with me being all super gung-ho about it, there was a good chance that would be suggested.

theres two things that i do not want to happen here.  well, three;  but one of them is failure, and that will not happen, so i dont have to worry about it.

i dont want juggalos, in the forum or out, thinkin that this is some weak scheme to con people into paying for our buddys ticket.  now, sure, thats exactly what it is, but the motives are way more altruistic, and ill be damned if ill let anybody cheapen it.

and i do not want to take any chances on hearing ‘scruffy ripped me off.’  i dont steal.  not from juggalos, for fuckin sure.

sooo…  if im to be the bag man [which im willing to do, i suppose], we need to have everybody assured that their contribution is secure, going to the right person, and to be used for the stated purpose.  otherwise, id just as soon cover the tab myself, and skip the gathering with a smile.

also, this kinda goes without saying, but…  since this less-than-completely-unexpected change of venue, all this shit is kinda on pause again.  god, how that shit pisses me off.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

With something like Crowdtilt, you wouldn’t even be handling most of the money. It would all be digital, handled by the website, and given directly to him. Not everyone has credit/debit cards I’m sure, so I guess those people would need a contact to mail their stuff to…which could be you, if you’re willing.

I wouldn’t wanna make a habit of it and have a bunch of sob stories follow. I’m pretty sure I’ve posted similar shit to what Pat just said, but hey…I’d donate 50 to Pat taking the trip at the same time. Both him and VD are good in my books.

It’s a double edged sword for sure.

You sure as hell won’t here me claiming money missing. I know the game – If I get burned it’s my fault to begin with and I’ll easily chalk it up as a loss. Obviously I don’t think that will happen or I wouldn’t offer to begin with.

It would suck if VD got thrown in jail a week before the gathering after enough was raised….but Scruffy, if you want to handle this it’s your call. Like I said, I’m willing to take a chance and hopefully that shit don’t happen.

It’s 100% on me if it doesn’t. Anyone else willing to help should expect the same. That would only make it that much doper if it all worked out, though.

Look at you LTB, finding quotes from months ago. You truly are an encyclopedia or worthless knowledge, AND where to find it. You took what I said the wrong way though, YOU not ME, are the one fakin’ the funk. You just want to bring him to the gathering, I want to help year round. I’m all down to send coupons and groupons and magical redeemable things, you just want to bring him to the gathering. For shame LTB, for shame!!!!

We’re all figments of your imagination. Faygoluvers doesn’t even exist. You need to work out some issues.
