Pretty much everyone already knows about this, but on the off chance you don’t I’ll do a quick run down. Our homie, @violentdope has never been to a gathering and that dude has been down for like half his life. So, me and @scruffy decided we were gonna try n put something together to get VD’s ass from Cali to wherever this year’s gathering is gonna be. I’m gonna be donating plasma at biolife (which compensates $20 a visit) as much as I can, up to twice a week (that’s the limit), every week til July or so to raise money to do my part. I’m setting up an appointment for Saturday today and will post pictures from the office there when I go. I’m not sure what Scruffy’s doin yet, and @ocj_brendan mentioned wanting to contribute too. Any one who wants to help, that’d be the shit. really the only problem I see in this is getting the actual money to VD. So brainstorming that would be nice too. I think imma email @scottied see if we front page this shit. If some ninja losing a buddha charm in australia can make the front page, so can this. And we aint gotta stop at helping VD get home, i’m hoping this will more or less be a prototype for helping out all sorts of ninjas in the future as well. Much love y’all.

I just gotta say much props for this idea. I highly support it even though I unfortunetly am unable to contribute do to having 3 kids amd their mom not paying childsupport. anyways couldnt the shit just get sent to him after its payed ie gotj ticket travel ticket etc. Then agin I guess im not sure on payñent policies.

You could do a paypal transfer of the money. I’ll donate in June. I do gotta say. The three times I went to the Gathering were the best/worst 12 days of my life. Nothing EVER goes as planned and sometimes your car breaks down and you’re to poor to fix it so you destroy it and hitchhike home with the bare minimums of your belongings. Later to call the insurance company to say it was stolen. BUT still fresh none the less.

Good luck Mr. Dope hope you make it! It’s a shame you couldn’t make it to one of the past gatherings, to me it’s slowly loosing the magic with all these outsiders coming in “documenting” and the new era of kids, its crazy.. but it’s still fresh so hope we can raise enough!

Bring VD To The Gathering isn’t going to be a winning title, maybe ‘catchy’ but people may misread some things. Just saying LTB, you’re doing a good thing for the Violet VD Dope homie. Maybe LTB you’ll be my one and only phone call if I get thrown in prison.
Hopefully you can get out there Violent, the Gathering was an awesome vacation for me. Sunscreen, water, eatings, and survival skills and you’re good. I doubt I’ll be making it this year.

im just planning on cutting out a piece of my check every couple weeks. i dont know myself how to handle the moneys, therefore i dont yet know how to take donations.
paypal, i suppose, would work, but i dont know shit about paypal, and will have to look into it before i would use it. if anyone out there has experience or suggestions on the matter, id be grateful to hear about it.
actually, ‘bring vd to the gathering’ is a catchy title, now that i think about it. or at least, eye-catching. kind of a goofy pun, but probably more likely to attract attention than saying, ‘help us get some guy a free gotj ticket’ or some such.
@violentdope , if your not rollin with ltb, you can roll with me. a lot of the finer points are gonna have to wait until the location, etc. is announced, but if its anywhere in the midwest, ill happily collect you at whichever airport, and split the campsite with ya.
i really hope this works. and, if it does, i hope it works well enough to keep going. lets face it, if this idea got popular, vds ticket would be covered in about an hour. might even be able to do it for someone else.

I want this to get big man i dont want it to stop at VD, hell i wanted to do this for mr B for GOTJ 2013 but i never got around to it/thought of it too late. And i chose “Bring VD to the gathering” because it sounds hilarious and catches the eye. And like scruffy said, “help a broke ninja get to the gathering fam whoop whoop mmfwcl, etc, etc.” is played out and more likely to send eyes rolling than looking. BioLife is fucking everywhere man, idk if anyone knows what they are or feels comfortable selling off their plasma, but it’s 20 bucks to sit in a lounge chair for an hour listening to your iPod/mp3 player waiting for them to be done. Easy money, it “saves lives”, it’s legal, and you can help the fam out, or yourself even. @scruffy will u contact scottie about front paging this? I feel like he’ll listen to you more.
@violentdope i more than likely will not be attending the GOTJ this year, as i’ll more than likely be leaving for boot camp in mid to late july/august. If i’m extremely lucky i’ll catch a september ship date or at least a date in august later than the 11th and be able to get their by the skin of my teeth. Though i’m not counting on it. This is about you big homie, not me. Though i’d fucking love to chill with you.

Oh, and LTB I used to sell plasma until they told me that I needed a doctor’s note because my BPM is too high. When I was doing it I’d get $50 a session, so did most people I knew. They say that rarer blood types get more money.
