Laney Chantal, one of our beloved Juggalo Family, has passed away

Juggalos and Juggalettes…it’s with deep sorrow that I come to you today to report the loss of one of our beloved family.  Some of you might know her from her appearances on ICP’s Patreon/Twitch shows. Others may just recognize her familiar face from shows and Juggalo events.  Many of you had the privilege of calling her a friend.

Laney Chantal passed away on October 31st at the way-too-young age of 33.

Her family has made her obituary public, so I am reposting it here:

Alaina Chantal Parkhurst, age 33, of Manitou Beach, MI, left this earth due to an accidental drug overdose on October 31st, 2022, in Milford, MI.  Alaina was born February 20th, 1989 in Adrian, MI of Thomas and Linda Parkhurst. Alaina grew up in Manitou Beach with her parents and two older sisters. She attended Saint Josephs academy for elementary and junior high where she participated in Lenawee County 4-H, soccer, basketball, and graduated from Hudson High School in 2007. As a teen, Alaina spent a lot of time with her friends skateboarding, attending concerts and plenty of summer days at the lakes. After high school Alaina moved to Los Angeles, CA. In 2008 to attend Cinema Makeup School where she received her certification to become a successful special effects makeup artist. Alaina put her whole self; body, mind and soul into her jobs, no matter the size. Her artistic ability and visions quickly set her apart from other artists in her field and her portfolio blossomed. Laney, as she was known by many, lived her life to the fullest, and accomplished more in her short time on earth, than most do in a full lifetime, including being a contestant on SY/FY networks makeup competition FaceOff and the lead makeup artist for Video of the Year on MTV’s Video Music Awards 2021.  Alaina is survived by her parents Thomas and Linda (Brandy) Parkhurst of Manitou Beach, MI. Her ex-husband and friend Jeordie. Her sisters Shanna (Eric) Navarre of Tecumseh, MI. and Laurel Parkhurst of Manitou Beach, MI. Nephews Kenny Parkhurst, Aiden Navarre and Julian Wilkins, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends located all over the world and her number one cheerleader-Mochii the most handsome pup-pup in the world. Alaina loved deeply, with all of her heart. Her family and friends meant the world to her, and gathering with them during the holidays were some of her favorite and most anticipated times.

Our sincere condolences go out to Laney’s friends, family, and anyone else who’s lives she touched.

Due to the cause of her death, Laney’s family also wanted to include information regarding mental illness and how to get help:

Alaina struggled with various mental illnesses throughout her adult life. In light of her struggle with mental illness the family asks you to please consider making donations to The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation. They are committed to alleviating the suffering caused by mental illness by awarding grants that will lead to advances and breakthroughs in scientific research. You can find more information here: www.bbrfoundation.org

Rest easy, Laney.
